Chapter 19: Sunday, Oh Brother!
"…eggs, milk, a couple of chicken and saffron. Yup, that's practically it." I just got out from the supermarket, buying a week's worth of food for my stay here at home. When I got home I got the shock of my life. "What! What are you guys doing here?!" In front of my home were Rangiku, Rukia, Ichigo, Hitsugaya and even Kuchiki sensei.
"Kurara! Took you long enough. How long do you want us to wait out here?!" Rangiku exclaimed.
"You might have wanted to tell me that you guys were coming if you didn't want to wait here. But that's beside the point! What the heck are you guys here?!" I exclaimed.
"We just came here to play! We always do this every holiday." Rukia answered. I looked at Ichigo who nodded in agreement. "And since we found out that you also stay here, we thought it would have been fun to crash in. But the door was locked." Does she expect me to just open my door and let strangers in freely?!
"So what are we waiting for? Hurry and let us in!" Rangiku urged. Somehow, I'm getting the feeling that these guys are imposing in my everyday life. I just can't believe they were able to drag Hitsugaya and Kuchiki sensei along.
"So this is your house. Not bad." Rangiku commented. They're acting as if this is some kind of museum! Soon something scampered towards us.
"Aw! What a cute puppy!" Rukia squealed as she looked down at my Welsh corgi puppy which looked at them in curiosity. It soon started to jump on Rukia.
"Hoshi, behave yourself." I said and put the groceries down. "Please make yourselves at home." I said and started to prepare some drinks.
"Where are your parents?" Hitsugaya asked.
"Working, should be back later in the evening." I replied.
"What! On a weekend! That's tough." Ichigo commented.
"It's normal for them. Besides, without the job we're gonna have a hard time." I said and placed the drinks on the coffee table.
"But if they've had this job for years, doesn't that make you lonely? Being in here all by yourself." Rukia asked, snuggling Hoshi in her arms.
"It took some getting use to but I'm fine." I answered.
"Big sis. What's going on down there? Who are you talking to?" Soon a young boy came down the stairs.
"What! Kurara you have a brother?!" Rangiku exclaimed. I don't see what's so surprising about that.
"Yeah, this is my little brother Haruno Makoto." I introduced my ten year old brother. He had brown hair and was wearing a loose grey hooded jacket over a green t shirt and light brown shorts.
"Big sis, who are these people?" Mack asked, pointing at the new people. I call him Mack for short.
"They're my friends from back at the academy." I answered.
"Oh, so you guys are the ones big sis keeps talking about." Mack gleamed. Mack!
"Huh? You mean she talks about us?" Ichigo asked.
"Yeah, she always sends me texts about how she was at the academy and always talks about you guys." Mack replied.
"Telling a sibling about what they did. Sounds like Kurara's acting like the little sister here." Rangiku smirked.
"That's not it! Mack kept on pestering me to tell him how life was there before I left for Sereitei." I exclaimed. It was true. Since my parents were always away, I had to take care of Mack ever since he was a baby, so we had a very close relationship. So close that he always wanted to know how I was doing in my everyday life.
"Anyway, why are guys even here? I don't believe coming here to visit me was the only objective." I asked.
"Like I said, we always come here. Well, me and Nii-sama that is. We usually come here to visit our relatives here." Rukia explained.
"I came here to visit my pen pal Orihime. We always talked to each other ever since we went to a makeup class some time ago." Rangiku said. I didn't know they knew each other.
"I'm just here to visit my uncle." Hitsugaya replied.
"Hey big sis, are these the three guys you were staying with?" Mack suddenly asked.
"Yeah, why?" I asked back.
"Then which one of them is your boyfriend?" that simple question created a very silent scene.
"WHAT! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" I exclaimed. How could he even ask that?! I could even see the three guys blushing.
"Yeah Kurara, which of the three princes is your boyfriend?" Rangiku smirked as she nudged me on the waist with her shoulder.
"None of them are!" I stammered. "They're just my brothers that's all. Nothing more than that!"
"You're in denial!" Rangiku chanted jokingly.
"Huh?! You mean, you don't see me as a brother." Mack quietly said, pretending that he was about to cry with those puppy dog eyes.
"Of course not! I still see you as a brother. They're just like my older brothers!" I reassured.
"But it isn't really that surprising. Big sis has always been popular with boys around here." Mack commented causing the two girls to get even more excited. Why did I feel like the guys flinched just now?
"Really! You mean Kurara had a boyfriend at such a young age?!" Rangiku squealed.
"Just because I have friends who are guys doesn't mean I have a boyfriend. Besides I don't even remember being that popular with boys." I stated, turning to Mack.
"But you always seemed to want to play with boys. Plus remember in kindergarten, mom said you always were seen playing with boys every time she came to pick you up." Mack answered.
"That was because the girls there were doing nothing but comb dolls' hair and playing on the swing. I just got bored with that so I went to play with the boys." I said. I remembered when my mom told my dad that she saw me with a bunch of boys, he started lecturing me on how I can't have a boyfriend yet since I was only in kindergarten.
"Ho ho! Kurara I didn't know you were such a player!" Rangiku cheekily responded.
"I was not!" I exclaimed.
"I feel like we're being taken away from this scene." Ichigo whispered to Hitsugaya and Kuchiki sensei.
"For once, I agree with you." Kuchiki sensei replied.
"Anyway, it's getting late! So why don't you guys go on and do your business, visiting family and friends and stuff like that." I urged.
"I guess so. But we'll come again next time." Rangiku said. Oh joy…
"Good bye little Hoshi." Rukia snuggled my puppy one more time and followed the rest out. She's become really attached to him.
"Anyways, thank you for letting us stay here for a while." Kuchiki sensei thanked.
"It's alright. You guys can come again, but please notify me in advance." I said, directing the last part to Rangiku.
"Will do. See ya!" Ichigo said and they all left.
"You sure none of them is your boyfriend?" Mack asked again.
"Oh hush up!" I pinched his cheeks. Even though it was only a few minutes since they arrived, I was already very tired. Thrust them to give you a rough time.
That's it. I'm truly sorry for the crappy chapter, I didn't get any good ideas. Also a note for all my readers, I'll be quite preoccupied with work this month so chapter updates may be a bit slow.
