Chapter 22: Saturday, Contract Deals
It's already been a week since news got out that a new member joined the famous idol team, Espada. Since then everyone loved Kurara, for her sweet expression, kind character and gentle heart. Many of the girls envied her, many of the boys adored her. Basically, she brought Espada to the top of the star charts.
Kurara's POV:
"Miss Kurara, you're on in ten minutes." One of the staff members told me.
"I got it." I was getting my makeup fixed before going on a talk show. I was wearing a white dress with ruffles on the bottom and blue and pink stripes on the top and the long sleeves, a beige vest over it and beige covered slippers.(Look at Hinamori Amu's clothes for the song Secret Princess for a better description) It's been a week since I've been employed by Aizen to join Espada. I admit I do have fun with the crew, but I feel much better with my friends back at school.
"You ready Kurara?" I turned and saw my two new best friends, Nel and Harribel. They've been with me through thick and thin, teaching me the basics of being an idol and also supplying me with girl talk. Nel was like Rangiku, she kept asking me many questions and gossips but also looked at me as her sister. Harribel was quieter but had a kind heart in helping me with idol business.
"Yeah. Let's go." I said and left the room with them. "What do you think they'll be talking about?"
"Probably confirming on rumors about us. They always do that." Harribel answered.
"Yeah, I remembered this one time when I accidently went out for ramen without a disguise and they started asking is I had a love for ramen." Nel commented. I just hope there's no bad rumors about me.
At home:
"Hey you guys, it's starting already." Rukia exclaimed. She and Rangiku were in the princes' home for studying and decided to take a break.
"Is this the one where Espada's gonna be in?" Rangiku asked and Rukia nodded. Ever since Kurara left, they always looked up at Espada news to see how she was doing. Though, none of them could accept this decision. "Ah it's starting."
The studio, Kurara's POV:
"Welcome all to 'Talk of the Town'! And here I present to you, the ever so famous, Espada!" the crowd soon roared in cheers as the lights went on, revealing our appearance on the circle sofa. "So tell us Kurara-chan, it's been a week since you've joined the Espada. How's life so far?"
"Well, I'm still getting used to it. But with everyone's help in the group, I'm getting better and better. I hope you all can support me." I said, and all the boys in the audience started cheering loudly.
"Ah there it is. Kurara-chan's sweet smile. Never get tired of that. And how about the rest of you. How is it like to have a new member in the team?"
"It's wonderful! It's like having a sweet little sister! Right Harribel?!" Nel squealed as she gently hugged me. Harribel gave a slight nod.
"I see, and what about the boys. How's life with another girl?"
"She ain't like a sister to me. More like a toy." Grimmjow replied. A toy?! "She gets so flustered so easily, it's hard to stop teasing her." He smirked. Really, that's how you see me as…
At home:
"How dare he?! Kurara is not a toy!" Rangiku complained, about to pounce on the TV but held back by Rukia.
"Rangiku, no matter what, it won't change anything if you pounce on that TV." Ichigo said.
"Except for the bills you will have to pay." Kuchiki sensei said and drank his coffee.
At the studio, Kurara's POV:
"Ok then. What about you Ulqiorra?"
"She's ok. Just another member of the group, not much difference." He left a very cold feeling to the stage.
"Really, I would have thought that you would have a better relationship with her considering you were there at her first photo shoot. Which brings me to the next question which all your fans are dying to hear the answer. Ulqiorra and Kurara-chan, would you two consider yourselves as a couple?" Eh?!
At home:
"PPPFFFFTTT!"
"Urgh! Ichigo, that's gross!" Rangiku exclaimed when Ichigo spit out his drink to the coffee table.
"Big brother are you alright?" Rukia asked in concern as she pat her brother's back. It would seem that he choked on his coffee when he heard the question. Hitsugaya on the other hand just stared into the screen in astonishment.
At the studio, Kurara's POV:
"What?! No no no! We're just crew mates, nothing more than that. Right Ulqiorra?" I stammered and he gave a nod. I could hear some sighs of relief in the audience.
"Besides, I'm too busy for a relationship. So I rather not have one." Ulqiorra stated, causing a whole group of girls to gasp in shock. Expected much.
"Well, then let's get on to the next question. Again for Kurara-chan. Boys are asking, are you looking for anyone special at the moment?" Why is everything about love?! Isn't that supposed to be personal?!
"Well, not at the moment. But it would be nice to have someone to count on, someone who will always be there for you when you need it." I answered and a huge cheer followed.
"How sweet! Alright, on to the next. This is for Grimmjow."
Few minutes later:
"That's a wrap. Good job everyone." The director said after some time with our fans.
"Phew finally. All those autographs signed!" Nel said.
"Good work you all." Aizen came in and praised us. "Now on to the next jobs. Nel and Grimmjow, you have to go for an advertisement recording." Nel gave an ok sign and Grimmjow just rested his head on his hands behind his back. "Harribel, you have a photo shoot for a teen magazine." Harribel nodded. "Kurara and Ulqiorra, you both have a meeting in room 27 with a famous director." The both of us just nodded and left to our respective places. Aizen followed us and we reached the room. "Ah, Mr Kogayashi. Thank you for waiting." Kogayashi Haruhito! He's practically the god of all action and romance movies! "These are the two you wanted to meet. Ulqiorra Cifer and Haruno Kurara."
"A pleasure to meet you." The two of us said in sync and bowed in greeted.
"Please rise. Now that I see you two up close, I'm thinking that it was a good choice that I chose you two. I have a new show coming up and I like you two to be the main characters in it. What so you say to that?" OMG! Be in a movie directed by Mr Kogayashi! It's like a dream come true!
"We will be honored to be part of this." Ulqiorra answered in a calm tone and I gave a firm nod with an ever so happy smile.
"Good, good. Then let's go through the scenes."
In School:
"Hey did you hear? Haruno and Ulqiorra are gonna be in a Kogayashi film."
"Are you serious?! I love his films, especially the drama and romance." All the teens in town has been talking about the news of the new film.
"Just what's so special about a Kogayashi film?" Ichigo asked. He and the others were walking down the streets to go back to the boys' place.
"How can you not know?! Kogayashi Haruhito is practically famous for his films. Mostly on action and romance. One look at his films and you'll never be the same again." Rangiku said, about to daze off.
"When you mean 'never be the same again', I hope you mean it in a good way." Ichigo commented.
"But if Ulqiorra and Kurara were asked to be in it. They probably got the lead roles. Which means…"
"They'll be the couple! Oh this is so exciting!" Rangiku squealed before Rukia could finish.
"Not really." Hitsugaya muttered under his breathe.
"Oh what's wrong Hitsugaya? Jealous much?" Rangiku smirked.
"No." Hitsugaya gave a straight answer.
"But I really wish we could meet Kurara. It's been so long since we've heard from her. I wanna know how's she's doing." Rukia said. Ever since Kurara left the school, they weren't able to reach her at all. They even tried to get in the studios, but failed.
"Yeah, it'll be a miracle if Kurara just pops out of nowhere in front of us." Ichigo commented.
"Thanks." A familiar voice was heard and a girl came out from the coffee shop. She had sunglasses and a dark purple hunter cap. She wore a black vest over a white shirt and had a purple tie, denim shorts and black strapped heels. Then she turned towards them, giving them a glimpse of her eyes.
"Kurara!" They exclaimed softly.
"It really is a miracle!" Ichigo gasped.
"Never mind that! We have to hurry and catch up to her. This may be the only chance we get to see her!" Rukia exclaimed and they brisk walked towards Kurara who was walking and drinking her ice coffee.
"Ah, guys!" Kurara suddenly took off to a group of people, the Espada in their normal clothes. Ichigo and the others stopped in their tracks and hid behind a nearby wall.
"What took you so long?" Grimmjow complained.
"Sorry, there was a huge queue." She apologized.
"You should go to the other one down the street. It's much faster there." Nel suggested. Grimmjow then turned around and saw Ichigo and the others looking at them. Coming up with a good idea, he smirked.
"Alright then. Let's get going before the big guy comes and get our head!" he exclaimed and put his arm over Kurara's shoulder and his face close to her's.
"Grimmjow? Just what are you doing?!" Kurara asked in shock.
"Let's just go." Grimmjow then looked to the spying kids and stuck out his tongue.
"Why that…" Ichigo was about to fight that blue hair boy however the other three pulled him back.
"Ichigo?!" Kurara flinched and looked behind, but they were hiding behind the wall. "Must be my imagination." She muttered.
"Let's go." Ulqiorra started to walk away and the rest followed.
"Why the hell did you guys do that?!" Ichigo complained.
"You want to fight with a celebrity and get your face on the newspaper with headlines 'teen punches idol'?!" Rukia scolded, slapping him on the face.
"But, Kurara seemed different." Rangiku stated, looking out to where Kurara and her gang left.
"That idol business probably influenced her." Rukia suggested. But, Hitsugaya had a feeling that it was someone who influenced her.
Office room, Kurara's POV:
"Come in." I went into the room to meet Aizen. "Ah Kurara, is something the matter?"
"Uhm, I was wondering. Will it be ok if I get a day off?" after hearing what I thought was Ichigo's voice, I found out I really missed them. So I wanted to go and meet them and tell them how life was here.
"And why do want that?" Aizen asked, keeping a stern look on me.
"I just need a break. I only need one day, so I'll be back to business in no time." I reassured.
"One day to rest. Or one day to see those friends of yours" Why does his tone suddenly sound darker. "My dear Kurara, have you forgotten the deal we made?"
"You only said that I needed to work for you if I didn't want them to get hurt. So what's the problem with just seeing them for a few hours? I just want to see how they're doing."
"Well, I'm the boss here, so I can change the rules." Aizen stood up and slowly walked towards me. "And I say that if you don't want what I said to happen to them, you will not make any sort of contact with them. You do remember what will happen right?"
"You'll make them suffer for the rest of their lives." I stammered, remembering what he whispered to me on that day.
"That's right. Bills, Court recounts, families sufferings even…death." I flinched at that word. "Yes, I can do all that. It's really simple. So if you don't want your little friends to suffer because of you. You will not see them anymore. Is that clear?" I really don't want to do this, but if it's to protect them…
"Yes. I understand. I take back what I said about the day off." I muttered.
"Very good. Now let's continue with your schedule." We began our conversation. Not knowing that someone, was listening in on the truth.
At home:
"I keep telling you! You're suppose to divide this with this." Hitsugaya complained.
"Uh, how do I do that again?" Rangiku asked.
"You're hopeless!" Hitsugaya said, exasperated. Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
"I got it." Ichigo said as he stood up to answer the door. There he stood, shocked.
"Ichigo, what are you doing…there…"Rukia also trailed when she saw the guest. Then everyone came and too got a shock.
"I'm sorry about the surprise entrance. But I need to talk to you all. It's about Kurara." There stood Nel, about to tell them the contract she made with Aizen.
How was it?! The next chapter will probably be the last of the idol saga. But I'll still try and add the espada to other chapters. Anyways, pls continue to support.
