Hey guys, sorry for the long wait, had exams. Pls enjoy.

Chapter 33: Friday, Sudden date with him?!

Normal POV:

"You want me to what?!" Renji cried out in shock.

"Get a girl to go on a date with you and you'll get the tickets for the Maison baseball game." Ikkaku repeated. He and Renji were out at the skateboard ring when Ikkaku suddenly gave him this dare.

"Can't you just give me the tickets? It's not like you can make it." Renji pleaded.

"No way, that'll make things to easy." Ikkaku said.

"Make things easy or less interesting for you?" Renji shot back.

"Whatever. Just pick a girl from school and ask her out, simple as that. Oh and don't forget to take pictures as proof." Ikkaku said.

"Dude, you know how I'm not good with the girls. Plus you're making things harder by making me take pictures!" Renji complained.

"Fine, I guess I'll just have to give these tickets to someone more willing." Ikkaku smirked as he waved the tickets in the air. Renji was in a crisis. He longed to go the game but the tickets were so expensive, this was his only chance to see it.

"Fine fine I'll do it!" Renji gave in, much to Ikkaku's delight.

"Great. Make sure you do it. See ya." Ikkaku smiled and skated away. Renji cried out in exasperation.

"Great now what am I gonna do? I can't simply ask a random girl to go out with me, they'll think I'm a freak. Let's see. Rukia will probably kick me if I asked her, not to mention that overprotective brother of her's. Rangiku will probably ask so many questions before I can even get an answer, plus she's seems hard to take on a date. Kasandora seems nice enough, but she already has Uryu." Renji was wrecking his brains, trying to think of her girl to ask. Suddenly…" I got it! She's perfect." He cried out and he ran back home.

Next day, in school, Kurara's POV:

I was walking to class when I saw a familiar person standing by my class door.

"Renji?" I asked as he turned towards me.

"Hey Kurara. Could I…talk to you for a bit?" I surprised at his question. He never really talks with me, unless if I'm with Ichigo and he doesn't seem to be acting like himself, he seems, shy. But I didn't really care so I followed him to a quiet room.

"So what's up?" I asked.

"Do…Do you have anything on tomorrow?" he stuttered.

"No…Why?" I asked back. He probably wants me to help him study. Then I realized that his face was all red. "Whoa! What's wrong?!"

"Will…Will you go out on a date with me?" he exclaimed but not loud enough to leave the room. I stared blankly at him, trying to process everything in my head.

"EEEEHHHH?!" I screamed. "Wha…Wha…What did you say?!"

"Chill, chill, it's not what you think. It's a pretend date." Renji said, blushing hard.

"Pretend date?" I repeated.

"I kind of had a bet with Ikkaku for tickets for the Maison baseball game and I have to go on a date with a girl in the school to get them." Renji explained.

"And you chose me." I softly said.

"It had to. Other girls would think I'm mad if I asked them." And what makes you think I won't?! "Please it's just for a day." He pleaded. I knew something is going to go wrong if I said yes, but…those eyes…

"Fine, I'll help. But if anyone finds out I'm blaming you." I gave in and Renji's face lit up instantly.

"Thank you so much!" he ran over and hugged me in thanks. I was stiff, partially from embarrassment, partially from trying to gasp for air.

"Ok I get it. Please let me go, I can feel my bones cracking!" I cried out in despair and Renji quickly let me go.

"Sorry. Anyway, meet me at the mall tomorrow at 12." Renji said before leaving me in the room. What did I just get myself into? I thought to myself as I walked back to class.

"Kurara? What did Renji want to speak to you about?" Rukia asked me the minute I stepped in. She saw?! Just then I saw something sticking out from the door. It was Renji, making a cross with his hands. He probably thinks that Rukia would kill him if I told him we were going on a 'date'.

"Uhm, oh nothing. Just asking me what tests there's gonna be." I covered up. Rukia just gave me a strange look but left it there. But Rukia is one thing. How am I supposed to explain this to the guys?

The next day:

"Where in the world are you going?" Hitsugaya asked me when he saw me come down. I was wearing a short black jacket over a white shirt with a dark blue skirt that reached my knees and black flats. He did have the right to be suspicious, it's not every day I wear clothes like this. Usually a normal top and shorts.

"Just meeting a friend." I said, but unlike Rukia he wasn't that gullible. "Well…I'll be going now. See ya!" I quickly escaped to meet Renji, unable to see Hitsugaya's bewildered face. Oh I'm so gonna be dead when this is over. I reached the meeting point and saw Renji. He wore a brown collar jacket with denim jeans and black shoes, his hair was tied up and he still had his tattoos.

"Hey, so you ready?" Renji asked and I nodded. Before we walked forward, Renji stopped suddenly. "Oh yeah, I forgot." He said then turned to me and flipped out a camera from his pocket. "Ikkaku said pictures were part of the bet." I'm appalled. Before I could say anything else, Renji came behind me. "Is this ok?" he asked softly. I slowly nodded, knowing that my face was blushing real hard. He got closer and held out the camera. After a click, he brought back the camera and showed me the photo. We actually looked like a couple. "Let's go." And with that we headed to the nearby mall.

Normal POV:

"The nerve of that guy! How could he just go with her without my permission?!" Rangiku cringed as she watched the two from afar with binoculars.

"Why in the world will that bastard want to do with her?" Ichigo growled as he also looked at them through binoculars.

"Looks like we'll have to stalk them." Rukia said before they all followed behind them. Hitsugaya sighed. He really didn't want to be a part of this but he didn't like the idea of Kurara being alone with Renji, so he followed along.

Kurara's POV:

"Something wrong?" Renji asked.

"Huh, nothing." We were right now in a café having lunch and I keep having the feeling someone is watching us.

"Ok…So how's school for you?" Renji tried to start a conversation.

"I guess it's ok. You?"

"I prefer not going." I chuckled at his remark. "Oh yeah, we should get a picture of this." Renji then stood up and sat beside me, taking a picture of us with the camera. It kind of felt like we were tourists, not a couple. "It seems quite good."

Whack! Something suddenly flew and hit renji behind the head, making him fall forward onto the table top.

"AH! Renji?!" I exclaimed and see if he was ok before picking up the magazine on the floor which obviously hit Renji.

Normal POV:

"Why that Renji! How dare he just gets close to her like that!" Rukia silently exclaimed while being pulled back by Ichigo before she could make an attack on the red hair. They quickly hid behind the chairs when Renji turned back to find the culprit.

"Man he looks pissed." Rangiku murmured.

"When is he not pissed?" Hitsugaya remarked and they continued to watch from afar.

Kurara's POV:

I had to admit, going out with Renji wasn't that bad. Though he was really tense.

"Renji, are you ok?" I asked, looking at his partially sweating face.

"Yeah, I guess I'm not used to these kind of things. It's hard to figure out what a girl wants to do." He answered. So that's it.

"You know you don't have to do that. Just do what you like to do. No pressure." I said. Renji seemed to have loosened up, but then grew a smirk.

"Ok then, let's go." He suddenly took my wrist and pulled me along the sidewalk. I never knew he could run that fast. Soon we came into an alley where there was a large red bike.

"Whoa is that yours?" I was amazed by the size of the bike.

"Yeah. Come on, put this on." He said before getting on and handing me a red helmet.

"Uh, you sure it's safe? I never really ridden on a bike before." I nervously held the helmet.

"It's alright. Just sit back and relax." He said as I sat behind him. "And hold on to me tight." Wait, what?! Before I could even say anything, he started up the engine and zoomed out. I yelped in shock and quickly wrapped my arms around his waist.

Normal POV:

"Gah! That guy! Is he trying to take advantage of her?!" Rangiku exclaimed as she looked through the binoculars. As the girls watched the couple zoom away, Hitsugaya and Ichigo just looked from behind. Ichigo couldn't believe Renji would want to go out with Kurara. When did he start to like her? Hitsugaya on one hand wanted to secretly take her away. He was pissed that he and Ichigo asked her on a date before him.

Kurara's POV:

The ride was exhilarating, riding at the speed of wind.

"This is amazing!" I exclaimed. Just as Renji turned a curve, I held on even tighter to his waist and I could feel him tense up a bit. So he does have a soft side. Soon we came stopped at a cliff. I took off the helmet and saw a clear view of whole of Sereitei.

"Like it?" Renji asked when he saw my amazed face.

"Yeah. I never knew Sereitei was this big." I answered as I leaned against the railing surrounding the edge of the cliff. "Do you come here often?"

"Yeah, just to get away." He answered as he walked to join me.

"Get away from what?"

"You know, school stuff. Most of the lower class students have a lot of pressure from the school so coming here is my only way to let off steam."

"I thought fighting Ichigo would be the way you let off steam." Renji went silent and thought for a moment.

"Good point." I chuckled at his answer.

"Actually I've been wanting to ask you. Why do you and Ichigo keep fighting? What happened to you two that made you guys have a grudge against each other?"

"I would say it's more of a rivalry than a grudge. Rukia told you we three are childhood friends right?" I nodded. "Well that time, Ichigo seemed to do everything better than me. All I could do better than him then was fighting. No one was really impressed with that then, especially Rukia. That's why whenever I want to fight with him, she's always there to prevent it." Then I realized something.

"Renji, do you like Rukia?" his face flushed red by the second.

"Wha! What makes you say that?!" he exclaimed in embarrassment.

"I mean, it seems you were really close back then."

"Rukia and I were friends before Ichigo came to town. Maybe I was kind of lonenly when she always went to Karakura to visit him." I was amazed at his honesty. "Maybe that's why I felt jealous of him." I started giggling after a moment of silence. "What?"

"I'm sorry. I guess, I never thought you would admit this so easily." I said between my giggles.

"You're the one who made me do it!" he exclaimed with his face completely red. We stared at each other for a while and started laughing hard. I never knew Renji could be this fun to be with. "Oh yeah, we should get a picture of this." He grabbed my hand and held out the camera. With a snap we took a look at it was quite good. "Hey, thanks for coming with me. I think you're the only girl who would go out with me."

"No problem, I also had fun today." I smiled and said. Then he offered me a lift back home. Now I had to try and figure out how to explain to the guys.

At night, at the skate ring, Normal POV:

"I'm impressed, I didn't think you would get a date." Ikkaku commented as he looked through the pictures.

"Yeah whatever. I had to say, it was quite fun." Renji said as he took the tickets from him.

"But just one thing, why did you pick Haruno? She would have been the hardest to get." Ikkaku said.

"Really? I thought she would be the easiest. I mean, she's easy going and quite helpful."

"That's true but it's hard to get close to her."

"Why do you say that?"

"Don't you see? The school's princes are always protecting her. I'm impressed you got a date with her without being threatened by those three." Renji just ignored him and left the ring. He took out his camera and looked at the photo he took with Kurara at the cliff. Seeing her face, he knew exactly why those three would want to protect her.

Hope you guys like it. Pls support.
