Hey everyone!
I know I said my one shot was going to kind of depict what happened on this story, but due to my looong time not updating and writer's block, there will be a few changes. The one-shot IS partly based on this story, but the events are different.
This said, on to the story!
Enjoy! – Julia

Kurt woke up on Christmas morning feeling nervous. After his revelation that he was in love with his best friend two days before, it was hard spending time around him without kissing or hugging him. But he had a plan, and that panned involved waiting until Christmas. But today, after what seemed like forever, it was finally Christmas, and he could finally put his plan in motion.
He walked towards the guest bedroom and saw that the door was slightly open. He opened it a bit more and saw that Blaine was already awake, and playing on his phone. The curly haired star glanced up and smiled when he saw who was it at the door.
"Hey, B. Merry Christmas. Sleep well?" Kurt greeted and entered the room after a silent beckoning from his friend.
"Hey, Kurt, good morning and merry Christmas to you too. Yeah, you?" Blaine shifted on the bed making space for Kurt to sit, who sat down gracefully, crossing his legs in front of him.
"Yeah, it's nice to sleep on my own bed again. But, hey, I don't think dad and Carole will be up for another couple of hours and Finn and Rachel will arrive only later today. Want to go for a walk?" Kurt asked anxiously. In order for his plan to go on as planned, Blaine had to go out for a walk with him. He needed to talk to him privately, without the threat of someone walking in on them.
"Sure. Let me get dressed. Meet you downstairs in ten, kay?" Kurt nodded and left the room, going to change himself.
In ten minutes the two men met at the foyer, armed with jackets, gloves and scarves. The two then let, after making sure they had their wallets, keys and phones on them. Kurt led them to a nearby park, and they walked in comfortable silence. Occasionally one would glance at the other and avert their gaze when caught staring, a blush rising on their cheeks. After a few minutes walking around on the snow covered park Blaine broke the silence.
"Kurt, is everything okay? You seem awfully quiet today." He asked with concern lacing his tone.
"Yeah, everything is fine. More than fine actually. Just thinking." Kurt answered back after a slight pause. Blaine nodded, but still looked concerned.
Suddenly Kurt halted and turned to Blaine.
"Sorry. But I just can't wait any longer. Blaine, you are my best friend. Have been since we met all those months ago. I know I let you down multiple times – " Kurt held up a hand when Blaine started to object. "No, let me finish. I know you were upset with me after I kind of rejected your advances. But yet, you still remained my friend. You didn't give up, and it means the world to me that you've waited." Kurt looked up at Blaine who had a huge grin plastered on his face and whose eyes were shining with tears, mirroring his own. "Blaine, to be honest, this, the way I feel about you, still scared me. A lot. But I don't want to deny my feelings any longer. I'm done running away from myself. And I just wanted to know that I'm ready to be with you, if you will have me." He finished, choking slightly on his words.
Blaine looked at Kurt with nothing but love shining in his eyes and pulled the slightly taller man to himself and whispered.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting for you to say this. Of course I'll have you, idiot. My idiot." And closed the gap between them, kissing him softly. Their lips moved together in perfect synchronization and the need for air eventually pulled them apart.
Kurt laughed a little and looked Blaine in the eyes. "So, Blaine Anderson, will you be my boyfriend?"
Blaine grinned and pulled him flush against his body. "Yes, of course I'll be your boyfriend." And pressed his lips to Kurt's again.
Afterwards they returned to the Hudmel house, where both Burt and Carole were awake with Finn and Rachel having just arrived. The four who were lounging in the living room turned to the couple when they entered the foyer, and upon seeing their absolutely ecstatic expressions and hands tightly gripping each other's they all cheered. Rachel let out a squeal and jumped off the couch to hug them both as did Carole. Finn smiled at them both, and Burt approached the couple with an unreadable expression.
"So, you guys are together now?" They nodded and Blaine paled a little. "It was about time." He grinned and hugged them both. But he then turned serious again and turned to Blaine. "But hurt my boy and I'll hunt you down."
Blaine gulped and assured him that he'd never hurt Kurt intentionally while Kurt glared at his dad. His dad seemed satisfied with his answer and smiled. They were then ushered into the room where a pile of presents awaited to be opened. Burt and Carole received from Kurt, Finn and Rachel a paid trip to Paris with everything included, much to the bewilderment of the parents.
"Thank you so much, kids. You didn't have to, but thanks." Carole said while hugging all three.
Blaine and Kurt each got the other simple presents, not knowing the protocol to follow in these cases, but they both had already gotten their presents: each other.
The rest of Christmas passed on rapidly. Lunch and dinner were merry meals, and the afternoon was filled with board games and story telling. After a movie marathon after dinner they all retreated to their respective rooms and both Kurt and Blaine decided that that was the best Christmas ever.
After the 29th the newly formed couple returned to New York, where they were both scheduled to perform. The two following days were busy for them both, leaving few time to contact, but they managed. And on the 31st they met each other at Times Square to celebrate their first New Year's together as a couple, the firs of many they hoped.
At the count down, 5, 4, 3, 2,1 they turned to each other and kissed, ignoring everyone else around them. As they parted they both breathed out, together.
"Happy New Years. I love you."
And that's it guys. There will still be an epilogue to come, but the story ends here. Thank you for all of you who supported me through this story, to all of you who've alerted and read it. I love you all!
