Dani was supposed to meet up with SAMCRO's lawyer this morning. She decided to meet her at her own café before opening, the only place she was sure she wouldn't run into Lana by any chance. These charges had to go away, and today was the day she was going to make that happen.

Jax had asked if he could be of any help, but Dani had told him no. She had punched Lana so it could be only her who could fix this. Besides, he needed to focus on the club and Abel right now.

"Glad you could make it so soon," Dani spoke, opening the door for Lowen who had just arrived.

"No problem," she spoke, following her inside.

Dani pointed to a table near the window where they could sit before taking Bruce's leash off so he could walk around freely. She continued by sitting down opposite from the lawyer.

"So, how are we going to handle this thing?" Dani asked, cutting straight to the chase.

"Apparently, it has already been fixed for us," Lowen replied, taking out her file and opening it in front of Dani.

"What do you mean?" she frowned, not sure what the lawyer was saying here.

"The charges have been dropped in a miraculous way."

"What?" Dani asked, shocked by what she was hearing. "Unser told me she was serious? She had a lawyer and everything."

"I don't know what happened," Lowen replied. "All I know is that she dropped the charges this morning immediately when the police station opened. Maybe you made her change her mind?"

"I haven't talked to her…"

Dani tried to think what could be the reason behind this. Were the charges just a way of scaring her? Letting her know that she was angry? She had no idea what Lana was doing, but frankly, she didn't care anymore. If the charges were dropped, that meant she could not go to jail.

"But this is good, right?" Dani asked to be sure.

"Yeah, it's great actually," Lowen spoke. "No charges, no case. You got off easy with this one."

Dani took in a deep breathe and released it slowly. This was a big relief. It felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders. She didn't know who or what made Lana change her mind, but she was them eternally grateful.

Wanting to tell Jax the good news, Dani drove over to the clubhouse. When walking in, Half Sack immediately spotted her. He rushed towards Dani, placing his hands on her arms to stop her in her tracks.

"Please don't go in there again," he spoke. "I swear to God they will actually kill me this time."

"They're in there?" Dani said, nodding towards the room at the end of the clubhouse where she had barged in yesterday.

"Yeah," Half-Sack nodded, his eyes big.

"You can let go of me now. I'm not going in there."

Sack looked at her suspiciously, but eventually released his grip from her.

Dani raised her hands. "I promise I won't get you killed."

"So," Half-Sack said. He moved behind the bar to finish up restocking. "What's the problem now? More charges?"

Dani chuckled. "You really think I'm that aggressive?"

"I still have nightmares from that fight between you and Ima," he said.

Dani had already forgotten about that. It had been a while since she had seen Ima, and she planned on keeping it that way.

"Actually, charges have been dropped," she explained.

"Really?"

Dani nodded. She still couldn't quite believe it herself, but Lowen had spoken the truth.

Just when she was about to reply, the doors swung open and all the members came pouring in the clubhouse, immediately yelling at Half-Sack to pour them a drink.

Jax spotted her quickly. "Glad to see you learned from yesterday," he chuckled, referring to her walking in on them.

"Yeah," Dani replied. "I got some really good news, though."

That got his attention. He turned his head and looked her in her eyes. "You're not going to jail?" he chuckled.

"Charges have been dropped," she said. "Apparently Lana changed her mind."

Jax raised her eyebrows. "That is unexpected."

"I know," she replied. "But at least we don't have to worry about it anymore. One less thing, right?"

Jax nodded and leaned forward, giving her a kiss. "Great news, babe."

She heard someone call out her name behind her. Dani turned around to find Clay walking towards her. She was heading home to relieve Gemma from babysitting duties.

"Can I talk to you in the office real quick?" Clay asked, a soft smile on his lips. He pointed towards the office next to the garage.

"Sure," Dani said, narrowing her eyes. Another talk? For how long was he going to try to break her into telling him that she knew?

She followed him inside, not bothering to sit down on the couch.

"Good news about Lana," Clay began. He sat down on the edge of the desk, crossing his arms in front of him.

Dani nodded, mirroring his body image as she also crossed her arms.

"Don't you think it's strange how she gave up out of nowhere?"

"Who, Lana? I think it's convenient," she replied, wondering where this was going. If Clay could just stop being so cryptic and just ask her what he wanted to know.

"It sure is," he replied, raising his eyebrows. "Don't you want to know who fixed that for you?"

Dani frowned, her pulse starting to race. "What do you mean?"

"Don't you want to know who scared her off?"

"What? Who?"

What did he mean scare her off? Was Clay implying that someone changed her mind for her? Where was this going?

"I did," Clay spoke definite.

Dani shook her head in confusion. "Why would you do that? I was handling it."

"Oh I know," he spoke. "But I had to handle something else. That thing you heard me and Tig talk about. You can never tell Jax about it."

"Are you blackmailing me?" Dani asked.

"I see this more as returning the favor. I did you the favor by getting rid of Lana, you do me a favor by keeping your mouth shut about what you heard."

Dani scoffed. She could hardly believe what she was hearing. Clay went through all that trouble just to keep her quiet?

"I was never going to say anything, anyway," Dani replied. "It's best if Jax doesn't know the truth."

"I agree," Clay spoke.

Dani had to contain herself as she was driving home. Her blood was boiling. How could Clay do this to her? She absolutely hated Lana at the moment, yet she didn't wish the things Clay had to do to keep her quiet on her. Dani wondered if she was still in Charming or if he had forced her out.

An hour ago she felt so happy, so relieved about the charges being dropped, but right now it only disgusted her. She'd rather go to jail than having it dealt with like this.

"Glad you're back," Gemma spoke when she saw Dani entering. "Abel was getting hungry and I couldn't find the milk anywhere."

"It's in the cupboard right over there," Dani said, pointing towards where she had stored it. She threw her bag on the table and immediately shuffled closer to the crib to give Abel a kiss.

"Who the fuck stores it over there?" Gemma asked, frowning. She retrieved the milk and started to prepare Abel's bottle.

Dani rolled her eyes and picked up Abel, softly hugging him back and forth in her arms.

"So the charges dropped, huh?" Gemma said from the kitchen.

Dani had hoped to drop the topic for today. "Yeah," she simply spoke.

"Great news, baby. You know what made her change her mind?"

She raised her eyebrows. "No idea." Sarcasm was dripping off every word she spoke, but luckily Gemma didn't pick up on it.

"So what are you going to do now you're an employee short?"

"I actually got someone coming for an interview," Dani spoke. She had almost forgotten some guy was coming for a job interview. Lana needed to be replaced and quickly. She had a lot of experience and Dani hoped that by hiring someone else with experience could pick up where she had left.

"Don't forget to run a background check on that guy," Gemma said. She sat down next to Dani, handing her the bottle. "You never know who you're hiring."

"I'll let Juice run a background check on him," she replied. "Thanks for reminding me."

"So I think we'll give it a shot and see how it goes," Dani spoke, her eyes scanning Elijah's resume. The guy had plenty of experience to work here, she noted. If he did not steal any of her money, this might just work out perfectly.

"That would be great, thanks," Elijah said, flashing her a smile. Her new employee had been really nice and professional with her so far. He was about as old as she was. His hair was dark and cut short, and a hint of stubble covered his chin. Dani almost didn't dare say it but he was quite handsome.

"If you can start tomorrow that would really help me out," she said. Dani gathered all the papers he had signed and put them back into her file so she could store them safely at home.

"I'm free so that wouldn't be a problem."

"Great. Darren will also be here to show you around as I'm not sure if I will be here all day."

"I think I can manage," Elijah laughed. "But thanks again for giving me this opportunity."

"Absolutely no problem," Dani spoke. She had purposely omitted what had happened to her last employees, there was no need for him to know that she got blackmailed out of town by a member of their local motorcycle club.

Dani was glad she had planned so many things to do on this day. At least now she could keep her mind off the thing Clay had done, as she had to think about so many other things. Apart from hiring a new employee, she and Jax also had to go to the hospital for Abel's check up.

"Hey babe," Jax said, sitting down on the passenger's seat. Abel was seated in the back in his car seat, sleeping softly, completely oblivious to everything around him.

Dani give him a kiss, smiling softly after she pulled her head back. "You ready to go?"

Jax nodded. "Yeah, let's get this over with."

Dani knew he had been worried about Abel. Jax didn't tell her that, but she could see the tension and the nerves. The check up was just a routine check up, and Abel would probably be fine, but there was still the possibility of the family flaw. Jax had also been born with the same heart defect, yet he had never any problems with it. Dani could only hope it would be the same for Abel.

The appointment went smoothly. The doctor assured them they had absolutely nothing to worry about as all his scans came out clean. Dani noticed the relief on Jax's face when he had heard the news. She made a mental note to talk to him about this more often, as it had clearly been bothering him more than he would like to admit.

"You know," Jax started, a mischievous grin playing on his lips. They were walking down the hallway, heading for the parking lot. Dani was carrying Abel while Jax had his hand on her waist. "I don't have to go to the club tonight…"

Dani smiled softly, picking up on his hint. "Oh really?" she told him.

Jax leaned turned his head to give her a kiss. "I love you so much, babe."

Dani nodded, laughing. "Yeah, you better."

He pressed another kiss on her lips before they headed outside. It was getting hotter and hotter in Charming, and Dani struggled to keep the baby cool. She didn't want to wrap him up so tightly in this weather, but she was scared that if she didn't he would catch some kind of disease. He was still so small and vulnerable, she would do everything to prevent anything from happening to him.

"Hey Dani," a voice spoke.

Dani and Jax stopped in their tracks, looking at Wendy sitting on a bench outside of the hospital.

"Jax," she continued when she noticed him standing behind Dani.

She softly let out an annoyed sigh. Dani had not planned on running into Wendy today. Her plan of deciding when or where Wendy was allowed to see the baby was not working so far. Maybe it was time she had a word with her.

"I called the hospital to ask how Abel was doing and they told me you had an appointment with him today."

Dani cocked her head slightly to the right, lifting Abel higher as if she was sheltering him from Wendy.

"You could've called us, Wendy," Jax replied. "We can tell you everything you need to know."

"I know," Wendy hastily explained. "I just figured it would be a good time to see Abel."

"Actually," Dani quickly intervened before Jax could talk. "We were heading somewhere."

"Oh," she replied, clearly disappointed.

If Dani would give in to her demands, this was never going to work. She needed to be in charge of this, she wasn't going to let Wendy boss her around.

"Sorry. I'll call you when I have the time to come to you with him."

"That would be really great," she replied.

"I'll call you then, okay?" Dani asked, raising her eyebrows slightly as she took a step back, watching closely if Wendy wasn't coming with them.

"Yeah, okay. You have my number, right?"

Dani nodded. "Bye, Wendy."

She needed to get out of there. Abel was hers now, and she didn't want to share him with anyone else for now. Besides, it would only confuse the baby. She was his mother, not Wendy.

"I can't believe she actually came to the hospital," Dani spoke, looking behind her to see if Abel was tightly secured in his car seat.

"Babe, let it go," Jax replied, his hand on her knee, giving it a soft squeeze.

There had been a silence between them ever since they had seen Wendy, and Dani was the first one to speak up. Clearly, she was more bothered about this than Jax.

"Jax, she is practically stalking Abel."

Dani was dead serious. Her showing up there was the final drop. She had been informing to their whereabouts, following them wherever they went.

"No, she's not. She's just interested in his health, like we are," he told her. "Since when are you so anti-Wendy anyway? I thought you liked her?"

"Yeah, until she started stalking us."

"Dani, don't be so paranoid. It's probably nothing."

"Might be, I still don't like it," Dani replied definite. "We need to control this. We need to make that clear to her."

"I'll leave that to you," Jax chuckled.

Dani slapped his arm softly. "Stop it, I'm serious."

But when she saw him laughing she had to laugh as well. Maybe she was getting a little overboard. But it seemed as if Gemma was starting to rub off on her. There was nothing she wouldn't do to protect her family, and if that meant eliminating Wendy from their lives, that was what she was going to do.
