"Mr. Malfoy, the library is closing," Draco looked up at Madame Pince, who was hovering close to him and manually putting books on a shelf. He nodded and began putting his things into his bag. As he finished piling his borrowed books into a neat stack, Madame Pince laid a hand on his arm. It was warm, but not as warm as Harry's…

Have a crush, do you? On the Golden Boy, no less. He won't want you when he figures out what's wrong with you.

"Draco, you don't look well. Of course, who wouldn't after being through what you did. Maybe you should go talk to Madame Pomfrey. She can fix you up," Madame Pince said, her voice cutting through whatever the voice in Draco's head was spitting. As she saw Draco about to protest, she quickly cut over him. "Then again, you always have been the suffer-in-silence type," she sighed, and turned away from him. As she walked away, she paused.

"Now where did I put those psychological self-help and grieving books? Ah, yes, two rows down," she continued, and as she turned the corner, she gave a meaningful look towards Draco. "Goodnight, Mr. Malfoy."

Draco nodded to her, and turned to leave. He froze when the voice in his head laughed.

Psychological self-help books? Grieving? Do you really think that's what I am?

"I didn't say I was going to use them," Draco whispered, hoping Madame Pince wasn't on the other side of the shelves. He ran to the exit before saying anything more. "I don't know what you are."

Well, I can tell you that no books or Healers or Saviors of the Wizarding World are going to help you.

Draco crossed into the common room, and instantly felt unwelcome. The fire was lit, casting the room into a warm glow. People were laughing, too many people. Draco looked around and saw other people who technically weren't allowed in the dorm meant for the four Gryffindors and Draco.

There was Luna Lovegood sitting with Longbottom on the loveseat closest to the door. Granger, Harry, and the Girl Weasley were sitting on the couch with Weasley at Granger's feet and Dean Thomas at Girl Weasley's. Seamus Finnegan was sitting in the arm chair that was off to the side. Draco basically just walked into a lion den.

"Oh, hello, Draco," said an airy voice. Draco turned to Luna and became very aware of how quiet it got. He nodded to her before moving towards the stairs to his room.

"Why would you want to talk to him?" Finnegan sneered.

"He helped us when we were in the dungeon, didn't you, Draco?" Draco turned around to Luna again. She had a knowing smile that he couldn't help returning.

"Bullshit," Weasley's voice growled. "Dean?"

Dean turned and nodded to Draco. "He did. He brought all of us food everyday."

"Got into a lot of trouble for it, too, when they found out," Luna popped in. Draco's smile disappeared, and he turned to go up the stairs. He froze when Granger spoke.

"Draco, why don't you join us? We have butterbeer," she held out a bottle for him when he faced her. Draco looked at the unwelcome faces.

"No, that's—"

He noticed how close the Girl Weasley was sitting to Harry. She was practically in his lap with her arm around his shoulders. Draco could hardly breathe. It was like something had his lungs and heart in a firm grip, and he was too hot. He felt blood rush through his veins, hot and fast.

"No. I'm tired," his voice was hard. "Goodnight." With that, he quickly stomped up the stairs.

"Harry, you fucking liar," Seamus said as he threw a pillow at Harry. "The ferret hasn't changed at all."

"No, no, he really has," Harry said as he threw the pillow back at Seamus, but missing entirely. He was too busy staring after Draco. He flinched as he heard Draco's door slam. He looked back at all the Gryffindors. "You must have seen that. When Hermione offered him the butterbeer, he looked hesitant and kind of scared, but then some sort of wall went down. He got upset by something."

Harry was getting the strangest looks. Well, except from Luna, but she still had a weird smile, which wasn't all together new. "What?"

"Harry, you really need to get new hobbies, because stalking Malfoy isn't very healthy," Ron grumbled as he stood up and grabbed Hermione's hand.

"I'm not stalking him," Harry said as he rolled his eyes. "You're seriously telling me you didn't see him change?"

"I don't know about everyone else, but I saw the same old Malfoy the whole time," Neville pulled Luna up to stand with him as he slowly inched his way towards the stairs.

"Yeah, he was standing there with that blank, condescending mask he got from his daddy," Ginny said as she played with a strand of his hair. Harry pulled away from her fingers and stood.

"I should go check on him. I'll see you guys tomorrow," Harry gave a half-hearted wave as he ran up the stairs. Ginny heaved an exasperated sigh.

"Give him time, Gin. It's still new. He has a lot on his mind," Hermione tried to soothe the girl from across the room where Ron was pulling her down the hallway that led to her room.

"Yeah, like Malfoy," Seamus said with a wiggle of his eyebrows. Ginny glared at him, and began making her way to the door.

"I'll walk you back, Ginny," Dean quickly moved to her side, giving her a warm smile.

"Oi, wait for me! I don't want to listen to the sounds of nature. I get enough of that sharing a room with 6th years," Seamus yelled to the two Gryffindors who were already halfway down the hallway.

What, you're jealous? Of a blood traitor? You are pathetic.

"No, I'm not jealous," Draco tried to defend himself to the voice in his head. "I'm… I…"

You're jealous that you can't have the Savior all to yourself? Why would you ever get that luxury?

"I-I'm just tired, that's all."

He doesn't want you, you disgusting wreck. Who does? Your parents would rather die than be with you. Your 'friends' would rather move halfway across the world and learn a new language than associate with you. No one wants you, a loathsome, cowardly cretin.

"No…"

No one can save you, Draco, not even the Savior himself. You are worthless. You are nothing. You only have me.

Draco felt his knees hit the floor, but didn't feel any pain. He was numb. His vision was blurred, his head was rushing, and he heard a noise that sounded like someone was strangling a small animal. He didn't feel the arms come around him as everything went black.

Author Note: Hey, guys I'm back! So, since I last updated, I moved across the country for work. Then, as the season started winding down, we started having problems with internet, so I had literally no connection to the outside world. It was great. I wrote so much, so get ready for a bunch of story spam!
