A/N: Blast from the past people. I'm back baby! Yeah! Okay, so I can see that you're not as excited as I am. That's fine. I understand. My sudden disappearance can certainly shake things up a little and I apologize that I disappeared. Some issues arose that I needed to take care of it and it all ended up taking a lot longer than I could've hoped for. But that's in the past, way in the past, and now I'm back. With about a thousand prompts I've made up in the last two years. So that just means more content for you, my most important audience. Anyway, onward, boldly.

Disclaimer: I'm creating a robot specifically for this task. Seriously. I don't own Teen Titans, but thank you for asking.

Chapter 9

Drive It Like You Stole It

The world was a blur of colors and light. The only thing Beast Boy knew for sure was the cool grip of leather between his palms and the vicious, tearing growl of the engine. A mere ripple in the continuum his presence was, but to him, he felt like a king, on top of the world, the pedestrians around him his subjects as he tore through the city streets. The blur of light turned blue and red. Uh oh. He spared a glance in the rear view mirror. A dozen of Jump City's finest were hot on his tail and gaining. How could they?! He outweighed them by at least a few hundred horsepower.

No matter. A simple shift into sixth gear and he as pulling away from them again, leaving them in the dust behind their poor, underpowered machines. They could never hope to grasp at the speeds he reached in the next instant. Stop lights were simply a reminder of the oppression he felt every day, telling him when to stop and when to go, and he mashed his foot harder on the accelerator in response. The engine was a screaming banshee that violated every law and regulation and told them that he would not be tamed.

The blue and red had returned, much to his dismay. A dull pounding that rattled around the inside of his head. They'd brought air support this time. Unfortunately for them he was already gone, disappearing on the horizon in a brilliant flare of light that was sure to leave them blinded. Beast Boy let loose a screaming howl and closed his eyes as he crested the hill, opening them to look upon his city, only instead shrieking and jumping back when he came face to face with violet irises. Raven. Well, damn. He looked around at his surroundings, seeing the dark, leather seats and the marks on the steering wheel where he'd been grasping so tightly, but outside the windows was not his kingdom, no. It was a showroom. The showroom the Team had been touring in another one of their awards ceremonies. Beast Boy groaned and settled back into the seat, realizing he'd gotten lost in a day dream. He reached for the handle, dreading facing her rebuttal. He gave the car one last mournful look, and but for a moment he thought he could hear the growl of the engine.

"I'll be back."

A/N: Alright. So I think I can agree with Beast Boy that I'll be back. Tell me how you liked it, how you didn't like it. I appreciate the feedback. I also plan on having another chapter up later tonight, but first I have to go wake my Muse from its coma. Should be fun.
