Yuki's POV
"Hey, guys!" I heard Tohru call from up ahead. Kyo rolled his eyes beside me, and I resisted the urge to jab him in his side. That stupid cat is always causing trouble. It's stressful enough having to look after our guests and make sure the girls don't come near us, and it's not Tohru I am worried about it's those other two twins with the Host Club.
Tohru suddenly can rushing towards us from behind with the others, and I forced a smile. 'Guess it can't be helped. She's trying so hard.' I thought to myself as she stopped dead in front of me. She gave us both a bright smile as the others began to catch up. Haruhi seemed to be panting, and Joceline looked like she was going to pass out. It made me glad that there were five other guys to catch her. The one with the glasses had stayed home.
There was something off about this group. The brothers are always staring and then whispering, while their president just brags about his fantastic life. I get that it's exciting to visit new places, but does he have to insult everyone who isn't a rich as him while he is at it? The girls together look the most normal, but one of them seems to have the same habit as Momiji when it comes to dressing.
"Yuki, I saw that they were falling behind...a-and I didn't..want...th-them to-" I cut her off with a smile and placed my hand on her shoulder.
"Thank you, ." She seemed to take it to heart, because her smile grew wider. I heard Kyo grumble behind me and my heel quickly landed on his toes for a split second. Hearing his gasp in shock as I glanced behind me. "Come on, Kyo. Let's not keep our guests waiting."
From behind me I heard Tohru mutter something to him. I think she asked him if something was wrong, but he said nothing and went on about his business. A small smile made the corners of my lips turn up. 'Okay, you've had some fun.' Looking at the rest of the group I led the way. It surprised me how hard it was to just simply say his name. But then again, event hat about him is filthy.
"I hope you are all enjoying your stay." I said. Tamaki gave me a quick thumbs up.
"Why, thank you." He said and looked around at the scenery. "It's beautiful up here!"
I heard Joceline giggle from behind me, and then caught a glimpse of Haruhi smiling. I looked over at the rest of them and saw Momiji and Haru talking to the tall and small boy. The hostess had told me that they were third years, but I wasn't so sure that I believed it. Well, maybe with the tall one, Mori. But I guess if Momiji can be in high school, that boy can be a graduate.
I tried to keep the conversation going, "Well, over this past year there was a new area added to the hot spring. We now have an extra hallway with some art, an exercise room, and a music room-"
Tamaki stopped short and I saw something flash across his eyes. I tilted my head to the side as Haruhi beat me to the question. "Sempi, is something wrong?"
He immediately snapped out of it and gave her a grin, "I'm fine, thank you, Haruhi, for asking."
For a second I thought I saw her blush, and I didn't get it one bit.
Tohru's POV
Tamaki had paused for a second, but went along as if nothing had happened. All I could say was that he sure was lucky to have Haruhi, because she was always there for him. Joceline too. Even though she seemed to be quiet and reserved, the way she yelled at him yesterday said completely otherwise. It's like there's a whole other person inside. Kind of like Yuki and the other members of the zodiac.
I saw Kyo look away, but it didn't stop the corners of his lips from turning up. I smiled and was glad to see him actually enjoying himself for once. But I still wanted to know what had happened between him and Joceline yesterday. 'I'm sure it was all a big misunderstanding.' From what she told Haruhi and me, it seemed like he thought she knew about the curse. But that's impossible!
"Hey, Kyo, I was wondering..."
His voice came out annoyed and strained, "What?"
Looking at our surroundings I saw no one else around. They had all gone off ahead. Now offered the perfect window of time to ask, but it would be rude to the others. The subject didn't concern me. Whatever had happened between them yesterday isn't my business. But they were my friends.
"It's...just.." My voice trailed off as I searched for words to say. I wanted to help, because even though I had only known her for three days I already had considered my friend just like Yuki, Kyo, Momiji, Haru, and even Uoh and Hana.
What if Kyo thought I was telling him what to do? Thats not at all what I wanted. He just needs to talk it out because he really scared her for a second. It scares me too when he is like that. And there is no way he'd talk it out with her. She's the one he had fought with in the first place. 'Mom always said that talking it out is best.' The sooner, the better.
He shoved his hands down deep into his big pockets, "Just leave it. It's not like it matters..."
"Kyo-"
"What now?"
"W-When Mom...and I would talk," I stammered, "she'd tell me that talking is a good thing, and if the person is willing then afterwards everything would be alright...that it was good too..talk ab-bout your feelings." He kept his eyes to the ground. "And I know its none of my business- I'm probably the last person you want to talk to-But you guys are my friends..."
When he didn't answer I lowered my head, "So, p-please...talk to me!"
For a second the area around us was quiet. I even heard my own heartbeat. His breathing disappeared, and I thought I saw his step towards me. There was only about four feet between us.
"Hey," I heard him step closer. "You don't have to worry about-"
There was a crunch and I heard Joceline and Haruhi's voices come from behind me. Turning around I went to face them but felt a force knock into me sending me forward into them instead. Looking back I saw Kyo disappear into a tiny cloud of dust. His eye were wide in shock as he gasped.
My body soon hit Haruhi and Joceline's causing us all to land on the ground in a pile of chaos. Orange flashed out of the corner of my left eye as he took off into the woods with his clothes wrapped around him. I sighed as Haruhi slipped out from between us. Footsteps from up ahead grew closer.
"Tohru, what happened?" She asked helping Joceline and me to our feets. Yuki soon appeared around the corner from the bushes with the others, having the same question as soon as he got to us.
I nervously brushed my clothes off before giving them a reassuring smile. "Oh, sorry for scaring you... I was walking behind everyone and guess I was walking too slow a-and...wasn't p-paying att-tention."
One of the twins had made his way to the front, and hint glowering in his eyes. I waited as he asked the question I feared they would ask. Yuki froze and exchanged glances with me.
"Tohru," Hikaru asked with a soft, sly grin. "Where is Kyo?"
I lowered my face as my cheeks flushed, "Umm...I d-don't-"
There was a shuffle as Yuki came up beside me and examined my body for cuts, "Are you alright, ? You're not hurt, are you?"
"No, I'm fine!" I said with a happy grin.
Everyone seemed to relax a bit, but Hikaru held a tough, unsettling gaze on me. We all soon huddled together as Yuki quickly explained to the group about Kyo's behavior tendencies- That's how he worded it. I gave them one more grin before joining Haruhi and Joceline.
Third Person POV
Even though most of the Sohma's and Host Club members had forgotten about him, Tamaki and the twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, were still wondering about Kyo. Although the King's thoughts were totally off from theirs. His mind seemed to be so utterly focused on the rudeness of the boy's behavior that he was totally ignoring the fact that he just disappeared. The Twins knew though, Hikaru more than his brother, and were thinking of ways to find him without causing too much trouble for everyone. Kaoru's head shot up.
"Hey, Boss!" He said nudging Tamaki's shoulder. He leaned in to whisper. "Since everyone seems to be worried about Orange Hair, why don't we come up with some sort of...game?"
His ears grabbed ahold of his temptations instantly, "Go on..."
Once explaining the little plan of theirs, he thought it was fullproof. Everyone split up into groups of two or three and went off to find Kyo. The first one will get first choice during dinner later that night. They even threw in "Haruhi Time" to make the Boss agree even more. Once everything was settled, Tamaki loudly clapped his hands high in the air.
Yuki froze, afraid of what he might say, or even do, and glanced over at Tohru in worry.
"Alright men!" Tamaki shouted at the top of his lungs. "How about we play a little game to lighten the mood?"
Everyone except the two and Haruhi were all for it, and from several yards away some birds flew into the sky from a nearby tree hidden deep behind series of shrubs. On one of the branches sat Kyo, who was listening intensively. His eyes widened. 'Dammit...'
"It's called," The Twins announced in unison. "The Who Will Be The First One To Find Orange Hair game!"
'Oh no...' Haruhi and Joceline both uneasily thought.
The Host Club quickly formed their group, leaving the Sohma's to think of a plan. Momiji would go with Honey and Mori to make sure Kyo isn't seen. Haru, insisting on going with him, would go with Yuki to find Kyo. Tohru would keep an eye on Kaoru while Joceline and Hikaru were paired, and Tamaki and Haruhi would go together.
Haruhi took a second to check the area surrounding her with a sigh. 'He just...ran off?'
Yuki watched as Tohru uneasily followed Kaoru, and reassured her with a nod that everything would be okay. Haruhi was worried about her too, but having her own things to worry about with Tamaki always next to her kept her busy. They were all uncomfortable with the whole arrangement made by Yuki and Tamaki themselves. The King had no clue though that the young Prince was, indeed, tricking him by placing as many Sohma's with members of the Host Club as possible to keep and eye out for the cat.
Splitting the mischievous twins up was just a bonus.
After everything was settled, they all parted ways. Tohru took one last look at Yuki before walking off, and Joceline did the same by earning a glance back from Haruhi. Tamaki was so sure that the plan would work, and the twins were both irritated at their semi-backfired plan. Everyone was stiff with nervousness, all except for the happy trio with Honey, Momiji, and Mori who had all became extremely close acquaintances.
