Author's Note; I'm sorry for the update being late. I haven't been on my computer all day :( I'm a few more chapters away from the end but I'm thinking it might be longer than I think it will be. Might end up being ten to eleven more chapters o..o I'm still going to make an epilogue! That is a definite!
Anyway, here's the chapter! I hope everyone likes it!
Oh, if the chapters end up being into the seventies, it might not be finished until after November or during November when I have time to work on it. I will let everyone know when it comes to that!
Chapter 60
Sasuke
It has been only two days since Naruto woke up from his coma and now he's at home on bed rest until Tsunade says he can go to school.
I know she's trying to keep it so he doesn't get bombarded at school and freaking out. We all learned the hard way that when he's suddenly touched, he'll tense up, flinch and sometimes he'll attack the person touching him and he doesn't know it.
Ibiki ruled that out as PTSD, along with being abused before hand, it's only gotten worse and now the whole school knows what went on in his house before the incident. How they found out, we don't know. But I'm getting this feeling that it's rumors going around and the way his friends that know reacted to them proved they weren't just rumors. Now we have to tell him that everyone knows and see how he handles it.
"So, what homework do I have today?" He asks when Gaara and I walk into his room after saying hello to his father, who's off work until Naruto gets back to school.
"We'll get to that later, but … we have to talk to you first." Gaara says, and I'm wondering if it should be heard from me instead. I can handle his anger, Gaara doesn't need that right now.
"What is it?" He asks, raising an eyebrow but then he starts backing away when we don't answer him right away. I really feel bad about saying this to him.
"Naruto … the whole school knows." I say quickly and quietly, but I know he hears because his eyes suddenly widen and his face pales a couple shades.
"What do they know?"
"They know about the abuse before you were attacked." I muttered, feeling my insides twist and churn as I watch him pale even more.
"Who squealed!?" He howled, and I don't blame him for being upset.
"No one did, rumors started spreading while you were in the hospital and I guess someone, we don't know who, reacted strongly against them and they were able to put the pieces together." I explained, though I know he only believes half of it.
"I can't believe it. Why does this keep happening to me!?" Naruto yelled. "Do they know anything about the attack?"
"Not that we know of, just that someone broke into your house and you came home at the wrong time." Gaara answered for me as he sat on the bed next to Naruto and held him.
"As long as no one knows I've been raped then I'm fine." Naruto sniffed as he leaned into Gaara's hold. I decided to take this as a chance to leave them alone for a little bit and get something to drink.
I just can't stand seeing him break down like this, especially because it's my fault he was fucking raped.
"Sasuke, is everything alright?" His father asks from the living room. Sitting on the couch reading a book that I believe he's picked up from the library.
"We let Naruto know about some stuff that's happened at school. Tsunade thought we should let him know what the student body knows about before he goes back next week.." I sighed, sauntering into the kitchen and getting a glass of water.
"Tsunade called and told me what was going on at school." His father sighed as I sat in the arm chair next to the couch he was lounging in. "I'm probably going to be the most hated parent out of them all."
"Hey, you proved yourself, to those close to him at least. Now it doesn't matter what the others think." I shrugged. I heard his side of the story, and watched the security tapes from the hospital. Yaguro slipped Naruto's dad a number and never actually spoke a word to him. Naruto's dad also kept the piece of paper. The man next to me never even knew what the number was for.
"Could you and Gaara go over to your house in a little bit with Naruto? I have a therapy session to go to that I forgot about until they called around lunch to remind me of my appointment." Naruto's dad asked and I nodded.
"He's welcome any time." I said.
"Thanks Sasuke." He smiled. "He can stay the night too if he wants, he'll have to come home when you and Gaara go to school. He has a therapy session in the morning with a new therapist around eleven."
"I'll let Itachi know because I'll probably forget." I nodded. It still felt awkward to have a decent conversation with him. And I think it's going to be like that for a while.
I was about to say something else when there was music starting to play from Naruto's dad's phone. Signaling that he's either getting a call or it's his alarm or calendar.
"Oh, that must be my calendar telling me I have half an hour to be at my appointment." He says. "I thought I had a little more time."
"It's alright." I shrug, finishing my glass of water and got up when he did. "I'm going to go tell them you're leaving."
"Alright, and thanks Sasuke." Naruto's dad said and I heard him in the kitchen searching for something.
"You looking for your keys?" I asked when I walked into the kitchen to put my glass on the counter.
"Yeah, have you seen them?" He says.
"They're by the front door on the speaker." I say, pointing behind me towards the bowl where they've decided to put keys and such from now on like at my house.
"Oh, thank you! I keep forgetting I'm putting them there from now on." Naruto's dad smiles. "Have a good day kids! And you can leave whenever you wish. My session is an hour long and I'm going to meet Kakashi, Obito and his wife afterwards. I haven't seen them in ages and they've been asking for a little get-together all week."
"Have fun, just call us when you get home so we know you made it alright." I say and he waves as he leaves. Leaving me to tell his son that he's leaving for a therapy session.
Sighing heavily, I go on towards Naruto's room and knock on the door to let them know I'm entering and when I open the door, it's to Gaara holding a sleeping Naruto. Great, now we have to carry his ass to my house.
"His father left for a therapy session a moment ago." I tell Gaara quietly, which he nods and proceeds to stand up and lift Naruto onto his back.
"We're going to your house, am I correct?" He asks and I nod.
"I'll get his stuff, and he's going to stay the night." I muttered and worked my way around Naruto's room, getting him something to wear for tomorrow and shoving it into his back pack with all his homework. "And Itachi should be up and in the living room. If not, you'll have to kick hard on the front door for him to answer."
"Sure." Gaara says before I hear him walk out of Naruto's room and out of the house.
It only takes me a few more minutes to pack up the rest of Naruto's stuff. And when I'm done, I sling my back pack over my back, Gaara's over my chest and I just carry Naruto's bag in my hand. I'm able to lock the front door when I leave because Naruto's copy of his house key is in the bowl on the speaker and once I lock it up. I pocket the key before walking across the street when I notice that Gaara's still outside kicking my door in.
How annoying, Itachi must have passed out or he's listening to music while he works in his office.
"Uchiha! Get your ass over here, he's getting heavy." I heard Gaara say loudly, which I'm surprised Naruto sleeps through. He must not be sleeping well again.
"I'm on my way over Sabaku." I tell him, just to get on his nerves because he know how I feel when he calls me by my last name.
"Don't push me." Gaara warned, but I was done getting on his nerves anyway as I pulled out my own house key and unlocked the door.
"I'm home Itachi!" I said loudly as I walked in and kicked my shoes off when Gaara was inside and situated Naruto on the couch. Well, it's more like he nearly dropped the blonde onto the piece of furniture because he was losing his grip.
"Was someone banging on the door a moment ago?" He called out from his office.
"Yeah, Gaara was trying to kick it in because he was carrying Naruto over on his back and couldn't get it open." I told him as I put the back packs on the coffee table with a sigh of relief. They're heavy! I must need to work out again.
"I'm sorry, I was caught up on the phone with the Hyuuga." Itachi said as he walked out of the hallway and leaned against the couch. "What put him to sleep?"
"He cried himself asleep a few minutes ago." Gaara said as he quickly took his shoes off and put them next to mine by the front door. At least it hasn't snowed or rained in a while. There'd be a mud track right now.
"Why'd he cry this time?" Itachi asked, and the way he worded it made it sound like he was annoyed. Which in turn earned a glare from me.
"We decided to let him know that the entire student and faculty body at school knows that he used to live in an abusive relationship with his father." I said. "That and he's kind of relieved that no one at school knows he was raped."
"I hope it stays that way." Itachi nodded as he looked down at Naruto. "He's staying the night?"
"Yeah, his father has a therapy appointment and said if Naruto wanted to stay the night he could. But I know he'd say yes anyway because Gaara's staying the night." I nodded. "You want to cook or order take out? I don't feel like cooking tonight."
"Take out." Gaara says. Sounds like he isn't in the mood for cooking either.
"Take out it is, I'll order him some ramen for dinner. Might bring his mood up like last time for at least a little bit." Itachi nods, and we all agreed that it's worth it. "Make it barbeque pork miso ramen."
"Will do." My brother says and returns to his office. Probably left his cell phone on his desk.
"Hey, I'm going to take a shower so I won't have to worry about it later." Gaara spoke up a moment later and I nodded. Which reminded me I should take mine soon too.
"Just don't take all the hot water." I smirked, earning him throwing a book at me from his back pack that I caught. "Huh, you're reading Ellen Hopkins now?"
"I just got into it because I was bored. I'm not particularly fond with it being written in poetry, but the stories are good none-the-less." Gaara shrugged, then disappeared down the hall and into the bathroom just as the blonde mess on my couch stirred.
"I take it Dad's at his appointment?" Naruto groaned, rolling over onto his side since he can't yet sleep on either his stomach or on his back yet.
"Yeah, and you're staying the night." I told him, not bothering with the whole story since I've told it so many times already.
"That's fine." He muttered with a small sigh. "I'm sorry for yelling at you guys."
"Don't worry about it." I shrug. "We would have done the same thing and you know that."
"But it's inexcusable." He muttered under his breath as he sat up and left the living room to go to the kitchen. "Did my Dad say anything about my appointment tomorrow?"
"Itachi will have you up and ready to go by nine." I tell him, which reminds me that I need to talk to him now about it. "I'll be telling Itachi now."
"Thanks." I heard him mutter, though I know he's not ready to talk to a new therapist. He was even reluctant to talk to Ibiki of all people who's great at his job.
"Neji is on his way." Itachi said just as I was about to knock on his open office door and I sighed as I just walked in and took a seat.
"I'll let Naruto know, and I'm here to tell you that he has an appointment to be ready for in the morning. His dad says it's at eleven but I told Naruto we'd have him up and ready by nine." I tell him with a small sigh.
"Will do, putting that in my calendar and alarm clock now." Itachi said, since he was already working on his phone anyway. "I take it he woke up from his short nap?"
"Yeah, but he's in the kitchen now-" I started saying until there was a crash coming from the kitchen and both Itachi and I paled before we shot up out of our seats and rushed to the kitchen. Only to find Naruto on the ground, rubbing his head and ingredients for white hot chocolate all over the floor and his clothes.
"Goddamn mother fucking chair." He groused before kicking it across the kitchen floor towards the back door from where he lay. He must not realize we came rushing out here or he'd be looking at us.
"Are you okay Naruto?" I asked, and almost regretted it because the next thing I know, he's shaking so hard you could see it clearly.
"I … I'm fine." He said hesitantly, but all three of us know he's not fine.
"You're shaking like a leaf, come on, lets get up off the floor and clean you off." Itachi said before I could make a comment.
Sighing, I walked back down the hall in search for the vacuum because the broom wouldn't clean this mess up. And just as I walked passed the bathroom, Gaara comes out dressed for bed and completely oblivious to what just happened in the kitchen.
"Did something fall over a few moments ago?" He asked, at least he heard something.
"Yeah, Naruto fell off a chair in search for white hot chocolate ingredients." I tell him. And before I could say anything else, he rushes to the kitchen and I grab the vacuum from the hall closet. So far, today has not been a good day for anybody.
