Chapter 8

(Normal pov)

It was a cold, snowy day in Station Square, and few people were out and about, due to the weather. Of these people, were a small group of familiar faces. One seemed very excited about the snow.

"It's snowing! Snowing!" A light blue female hedgehog said, running circles around her friends.

"Damn, I haven't seen anyone run that fast since I first met Sonic!" A pink female hedgehog said, slightly chuckling.

"Like she could ever outrun me, Amy." The only male hedgehog there, a blue hedgehog.

"Snow! Let's have a snowball fight!" Winter said, excitedly. "Amy! Call your cousin. I've been dying to meet him, and it would make it fair on your boyfriend."

"He's not my boyfriend!" Amy said, before grumbling and pulling out her phone, and dialing Bobby's number.

"Hello?" A voice on the other end said, groggily.

"Just getting up Bobby?"

"Yeah, Amy. I spent the day carrying furniture up for you." He said, yawning.

"Well, get your ass down to the park. Someone's been 'dying' to meet you." Amy said, chuckling at the last part.

"Alright. See ya in a minute..." He said with a sigh.

Amy knew Bobby well enough that he would be here fast, and would most likely be underdressed.

A few minutes passed, and sure enough, she saw Bobby, wearing his favorite shoes and gloves, both red and blue. He was also wearing a pair of jeans and hoodie that wasn't zipped up, showing the simple white shirt underneath.

He saw Amy, Sonic, and Winter, and quickly turned invisible, bending down to make a few snowballs. He aimed with his sole good gray eye, and hit Sonic square in the face with the snowball.

Winter yelled happily! She began forming a large fort of ice, while Amy threw the dazed male hedgehog towards the rapidly launching snowballs.

Bobby was hit, turning visible, and flying back. He made a small wall, just tall enough for his ears to poke out.

"Sonic. Wake up." Bobby said, slightly shaking him. When he didn't reply, he made a snowball, and shoved it in Sonic's shirt.

"Gah!" He said, shooting up. "Cold!"

"We're under attack!" The golden hedgehog said, pointing to the snowballs flying overhead.

Sonic nodded, then began making snowballs. Meanwhile, the girls were going easily, Winter making snowballs with her powers, and Amy throwing them at an inhuman speed. Good thing they're hedgehogs.

"Isn't this fun Amy? You're pelting your boyfriend and cousin with Mother Nature." Winter said, still creating snowballs.

"I guess, but my arms are getting tired." The pink hedgehog said, before falling back.

Winter stopped making snowballs. "Amy, what are you doing? They are getting closer!"

"Don't care. Arms too tired."

"Maybe you'll care when we do this!" She heard a male say. She looked up, to see the sun gone. She turned her head and saw Bobby and Sonic holding a snowball larger than herself.

"What th-" That was all Amy could say before the massive snowball fell on top of her, covering her from head to toe in the fresh powdery snow.

She wiped the snow from her eyes, and noticed a white gloved hand in her face. She looked a little farther up, and saw that Sonic was offering to help her up. She gently took his hand, before smirking, and pulling him down, giving Sonic his second face full of snow.

Suddenly she heard snickering. She looked over to Bobby and Winter, seeing them pointing and laughing idiotically. "You two act like kids."

Tails was sitting on his bed, holding a very tired, and very stained-faced Cream. She had been crying all night, after the tragedy of losing her mother. Tails, of course, had been sitting with her the whole time, always calming her down, just for her to break down in sobs a few minutes later.

Cream was laying in Tails' lap, finally about to fall asleep, when his phone rang. Tails looked at the caller ID. Sonic was calling, probably to confirm their day at the carnival. He answered the phone angrily, while still somewhat sadly.

"Yes, Sonic?"

"What's wrong Tails?" Damn Sonic and his ability to tell emotions in other people.

"Why don't you come over to my house in a little while? It's too important to talk about over phone."

"Alright, I'll be there at 1, okay?"

"Okay. Bye." Tails said, and hung up.

Tails put his phone on some sad music, and continued helping Cream get some sleep. "Miles?" Cream asked, with a sniffle.

"Yes, Cream?" He said gently.

"W-what's going to h-happen to us, n-now that Mommy is..." She broke out into sobs once again.

Tails checked the clock, which read 11:30 am. For once, he actually wanted Sonic to be early.

Sonic left, saying that he had to be somewhere very soon, and took off. Winter then took another look at Bobby.

"Wait, dont I know you?" Winter asked, staring the golden hedgehog down.

"Yeah. Well, no. I'm Bobby the Ghosthog. I'm the guy who showed you to Amy's house." He replied, holding out his hand.

"Ghosthog? Like a ghost-hedgehog? Are you dead?" She began, and started poking him. "Why can I touch you?

Bobby looked annoyed. Everytime he met someone, they just start poking him. "To answer your first two questions, yes, I am a hedgehog with ghostly powers. To the second, No! I'm not dead! And to the final one, I can control my powers." He paused, "I hate having to explain this to people..."

"Ok." She said, walking over to Amy, and whispered in her ear, "Your cousin is kinda cute."

Amy rolled her eyes, before chuckling. "Really?"

"Yeah, you wouldn't mind if I went out with him, would you?"

"I don't care, so go ahead." Amy said, laughing again.

"Now you're making me nervous. Is there something wrong with him?"

Bobby looked at the two girls, who were whispering something about dating, and a boy. He figured he'd just leave. "Amy, I guess I'll be going now, if you want, why don't you and Winter drop by my house, since mom and dad are leaving in a few days."

"Sure, Bobby." She then pushed Winter towards Bobby, whispering, "Do it."

"Hey, Bobby. I don't know too much about Station Square, and I was wondering if you could show me around?" Winter asked, fidgeting slightly.

"Sure. Anytime, just give me a call." He said, giving her his phone number.

"I was thinking you could show me today..." She said, smiling a bit.

"Sure. I can take you anywhere in the city, and the only thing faster than me is Sonic."

"Can we go to the movie theater? And how are you faster than a car? Don't tell me you run fast, too." Winter said, crossing her arms.

"Nah, I can do this!" He quickly got beside her, picked her up bridal style, and darted towards the sky, with Winter screaming the whole time.

"Have fun!" Amy called, and began walking home.

It was now one, with a very tired Tails, with the, now asleep, Cream's head on his shoulder. He gently put her head on a pillow, and stood up.

The sad songs in his phone must have looped twenty times already, and he was getting sick of them, so he shut them off.

Ding Dong

Tails walked to the door, and opened it, greeting the visitor with a half-hearted, "Hello."

"What's wrong, little buddy? You look like you haven't slept in days."

"Yeah... Sonic... we need to talk..." The fox muttered sadly.

"Tails, what happened?" Sonic said, with great urgency.

"Vanilla... is dead..." Tails said, the memory saddening him to no end.

"W-what?" Sonic said, not believing what the kitsune had just said.

"Th-there's nothing we could have d-done... She was fine one minute... Th-then a man just came out out of no where, holding up the plane, and sh-shot her..." The images coming back to him were almost too much, and he began feeling light-headed. The ladt thing he heard was Sonic yelling out to him, before everything went black.

Bobby: I finally got it out!

Winter:Yeah! Now, don't forget to review, and tell us what you think is happening next.

Bobby: Until next time (hopefully sometime soon,), this is Bobby the Ghosthog, phasing out.
