Circe sat on a table in a meeting room somewhere in Providence. She had no idea what she was doing here. She had no idea if the people who were being kind to her were safe, not only from the Mann, but from her.
She heard the doors open, and looked up to see Rex entering and looking at her like she was some kind of wild animal.
"Rex-" Circe began to start the apology that she had been rehearsing in her head since the day she received her gift.
"No," Rex interrupted her, angry. "No, this time I'm gonna talk. And you're gonna listen,"
There was a moment of intense silence while Rex began to muster up his courage.
"I knew, back before you disappeared, that we weren't serious. I knew you were seeing other people. I didn't care. Because I got to spend time with you, and at the end of the day, that's what mattered to me. And then, you disappeared. No goodbye. No explanation. Nothing," Rex swallowed heavily, angry and hurt and confused.
"Rex..." Circe started, standing up to be at his level.
"Circe, you hurt people, don't you know that?" Rex's voice started to rise.
"Rex, I get it stop!" Circe began to feel the pulsating in her fingers. She had no idea how long she could control it.
"Circe, I was in love with you!" Rex practically shouted. The second that sentence left his mouth, a window in the conference room shattered.
Circe whirled around, then looked down at her fingers, mortified.
"I need to go," she said, moving out of Rex's way, tears in her eyes.

Holiday stood in her lab, preparing a wet slide of a blade of grass that was located over the grave of the first EZombs in California. She slid it onto the stage and clipped on the stage clips. She put her left eye to the eyepiece, and was genuinely surprised. The blade seemed to have some sort of bacteria on it.
"Bet that's our virus," she murmured to herself, making a note of it on her clipboard.
She was hopefully going to get a sample of blood from one of the EZombs that she was going to preform a secondary autopsy on once Amelia finished sorting them out.
She took another look underneath a higher power, and saw that the bacteria seemed to have an odd structure. It didn't look quite like a decomposer, but bacteria could not be a consumer.
Holiday sighed, knowing that she had pressure coming from everywhere. And she didn't want to give the nagging question in the back of her mind that had been there ever since this whole thing started.
What if she couldn't find the answer?

Amelia sat in the morgue, finishing up the paperwork she had to complete before she an Dr. Holiday could do the secondary autopsies. Amelia was particularly excited, knowing that it would be the first time she was allowed to preform an autopsy-with Dr. Holiday's supervision, of course.
"There hasn't been this much paperwork since Bobo got suspended," Amelia muttered to herself. She chuckled a bit, remembering the rather epic prank he had pulled on White Knight to earn himself 7 months' suspension. Of course, White Knight and Holiday hadn't found it all that humor, but Amelia and Calan thought it was a kick in the pants. After all, magenta silly string looked good in Knight's office. But the shape it was in was slightly vulgar.
Amelia gave a sigh of content as she started on her last file, filling out the required information. She filed them in the cabinets, then walked to the lab.
"Doctor?" she said, poking her head in the lab. "It's time for the autopsies,"
Holiday followed Amelia to the locker rooms, where they scrubbed their hands, put on the scrubs, and tied back their hair.
"Amelia, I've been thinking," Holiday started, smiling.
"Yes, Doctor?" Amelia answered, hoping that it was what she thought it was.
"I think it's time for you to preform an autopsy, and I'll observe and assist. We can trade back and forth, but you are qualified to be preforming these, and it's time you got a chance to practice your skills," Holiday gave Amelia a genuine look, which made Amelia smile.
"Thank you, Doctor," Amelia was beyond pleased. "Well, shall we?"
The two women walked into the morgue, and prepared the first body for the autopsy. Amelia turned on the tape recorder.
"This is trained inter Amelia Franklin preforming the secondary autopsy on Elizabeth Price, originally preformed by Dr. Rebecca Holiday. Ms. Price is one of the EZombs that turned in the Providence lab. Today, I have Dr. Holiday observing and assisting me," Amelia said, doing her best to keep her cool. "I will begin with a laceration at the shoulder, as Dr. Holiday preformed an extremely well-done autopsy. This is just to find the causes and effects of the virus,"
Amelia began to make the cut, and as she did, a white film began oozing out her arm. Holiday quickly got a test tube, and let the ooze fill it.
"Be sure to get me a blood sample, too," Holiday reminded her quietly.
As Amelia cut deeper, she realized something. The muscles were beginning to relax. The white ooze was what caused them to tense in the first place.
A/N: Hey all, sorry for the late at night post, I was third-wheelin' it on my friend's secret date. Thankfully all I had to do was edit! Word to the wise, next week's installment will feature another attack and wedding planning, which is a deadly and violent combination. Until next week!
