The first part of this story was originally the last bit of the last chapter. Honestly, I've been having possibly the worst luck with computers. Mine wasn't letting me post, so I had to edit the chapters a bit. Enjoy!

Rex sat in his apartment, watching TV. He didn't care about the show, he was thinking about Circe. He was still furious with her. He had no idea what kind of stunt she pulled in the conference room, and he didn't care. If something had happened to her, why wouldn't she tell him? She had to know that he loved her. She had to.
There was a knock on the door that brought him out of his daze. He was aware of two noises at once: the pounding on the door, and the pounding rain on his window. He got up and answered, wondering who wanted to see him at this hour in the rain.
Circe stood in his doorway. She was soaked. Her grey Beetles t-shirt was sticking to her skin, and Rex could see the outline of the muscles in her thighs through her soaked red jeans.

"What do you want, Circe?" Rex sighed.

"You," Circe answered, throwing her arms around his neck and smashing her mouth against his.

Holiday sat in the lab, working on different samples using the liquid. Whenever it came into contact with metal, it turned into a solid. It was almost like the liquid was trying to get away from metal. Holiday had never seen anything like it. And that was saying something.
Holiday moved to her counter, sitting and working silently. She was wondering were Amelia was. She figured that Rex was probably sleeping in; he did hate that alarm clock of his.

"Hey Dr. Holiday! Sorry I'm late, I got held up in Phoenix," Amelia greeted as she walked in, hastily putting on her lab jacket over her light blue blouse and grey trousers.

"Oh, you're fine. I don't mind," Holiday gave her assistant a small smile as she turned back to her work.

"Have you seen Rex or Circe?" Amelia asked, walking over and observing.

"No, I haven't," Holiday answered, dropping a small bit of copper in the grey liquid. It immediately solidified near the point of entry, became a strange mushy texture, but the very outside remained the same.

"Have we seen how it reacts to blood?" Amelia asked.

"No, we haven't. We don't have a donor," Holiday responded, making notes on the reaction.

"Just take a pint of mine," Amelia offered.

"Are you sure?" Holiday asked.

"I'm sure," Amelia answered.

Rex woke up in his bed, groggy. He wasn't at all sure if the night before had really happened. But, there was always hope.
He sat up, realizing that there was a pair of cherry red jeans on his floor. A smile crept across his face. She was still in his apartment. He sighed and walked to his kitchen.
She sat in his kitchen, drinking his coffee.

"This is the nastiest coffee I've ever had," Circe said, looking up. A smile ghosted across her face, even thought she pretended to be angry.

"Good morning to you, too," Rex responded with sarcasm, pulling a slice of cold pizza out of the fridge for breakfast, which earned him an eye roll from Circe. "What? I have no groceries,"

"I'll go get some this afternoon," Circe said. "I like food, you know,"

"So you're staying?" Rex asked, confused.

"Well, I assumed after last night, you'd want me here..." Circe's eyebrow raised and her sentence trailed off.

"You're very welcome here, but are we picking up where we left off, or what?" Rex asked, wondering what exactly was going on.

"Yup. Because starting from the top is very, very tedious. And really, I am tired of this hole pretending that we don't care about each other bull," Circe said. "But Rex, my newfound abilities are dangerous. I need to know you can handle it,"

"Always."

A/N: Sorry for the forever hiatus and this chapter. I know it's kind of a cluster, but my computer is being stupid and this was the only way I could further the plot. Hopefully next week's post will suck less.
I need to tell you lovelies something. I have a tumor. We just found it, and we're kind of chasing our tails and figuring out what the hell is going on. I'm going to try hard to keep with our Saturdays schedule. I'm sorry that this didn't post sooner.

Love Always,
Kate
