a/n: the beginning will be in Lucy's point of view. (:

When I saw Dan and ran into the bathroom, I felt like throwing up real badly. So I did into the toilet and my ears were ringing as if someone yelled directly in my ear and I didn't hear anything but this stupid annoying ring.

I could see though. I saw Juvia run into the bathroom, yelling my name or something and my vision started to get blurry as I just sobbed on the bathroom floor. I was being unrealistic; I don't even know why I felt this way. I didn't even know why this was all happening! Dan wasn't someone who ruined my life—well a bit—but why was I acting like this? I didn't even know why I went into shock.

I saw Natsu and the rest run in afterwards and I couldn't move, talk, or even hear at this point.

But all I could think of was Natsu, Natsu, and Natsu. The man I love so much and devoted my whole life to was there, looking worried and like he was about to cry. Why though? Was it because of me?

Then everyone disappeared and it just went black.

The next time when I opened my eyes was I was in this place where there were flowers and trees and grass and everything was just very bright and beautiful. I didn't know what the place was but it was very... heavenly. And it kind of saddened me since I knew where this place was and I knew I had died. I cried actually, I cried because I couldn't spend my life with my friends... Neither Natsu... nor everything else I actually wanted to do. It was sad.

But, why did I even die?

The ground was super soft like I was walking on cotton and the air was warm like a beautiful summer day. I wore this pale blue dress and it felt weird since I never owned this kind of dress before. It was beautiful and it was made out of satin by the feel of it.

I walked down the meadow and admired the view—my favorite flowers were everywhere and for some reason, it felt like a wonderland.

Like a place you would go if you were stressed or someplace where you would take your family on a picnic.

I would bring Natsu and our kids here if I could... but now that I died, I couldn't. I guess I had to accept the sad truth and live in this beautiful wonderful land—and I wasn't complaining! I love it here and now that I would be living in it forever, I was sort of happy.

I walked down the place as I can hear giggling kids and I was beyond shocked when I saw my mother sitting on a swing by a large tree, swinging back and forth. The last time I saw her... she was sick and weak but now... she looked as lively as always. She looked happy and she was right there! All I could do was run up to her and hug her like I always wanted to do... and that's what I did.

I ran up the hill and almost tackled her to the ground! I could tell she was shocked as she jolted out of her seat.

"Mama, it's you! It's really you!"

"L—Lucy? What—what are you doing here?" She asked me in complete shock. She grabbed my face and felt me everywhere to see if I was actually real and when she finally realized it, she started to sob. "Oh Lucy... no... No, no, no... You're not supposed to be here, my darling!"

"Why not?"

"Your time hasn't come... why are you here, my precious?" She asked with that sweet silk-like voice of hers. My heart just fluttered, hearing her voice again and being around her presence. I hugged her tightly and held back my tears, inhaling her sweet scent which always smelt like honey and soap. It still hasn't changed and thank god it didn't, otherwise, it wouldn't be the same.

"I—I'm not sure either, mama. I met Dan at Fairy Tail and—"

"How dare he show up?! Urgh, if I was there... I would have kicked his butt into the next decade!"

I giggled and looked at her in surprise, seeing that my mother was so like... me. No wonder my father shunned me away after mama had passed away... it was too painful for him to see his look-alike daughter interact with him after his precious wife disappeared. A soft smile appeared on my lips as I held her hand tightly in mine. "How do you know Dan, mama?"

"Lucy, how can you believe I wouldn't be watching over you all these years? I know everything!"

"Everything? Including Natsu and my friends and my engagement? And what happened between papa and stuff?"

"Of course, my darling... I'm so happy for you. Natsu is one amazing man, isn't he? I'm glad he can make you so happy." She brushed her hand against the side of my face, showing me the affection I longed for, for so long. She smiled at my face and ushered me to sit down on the swing that she was sitting on, sighing deeply. "Lucy-dear, I apologize for your father's actions... it must be so hard for him to get over my death. I never realized he would become so cold-hearted!"

"I understand, that's why I left in the first place."

"And if I could, I would have never let you meet that Dan guy! Gosh, he is such a butthole, isn't he?"

I giggled in response and watched as a smile decorated my mother's beautiful face. "And your friend's are just so marvelous."

"Yes, they are. They changed my life completely."

"Oh yes, I know. But enough talk about this! I want to hear about Natsu."

I felt the blood rush to my face as she purred his name. I knew this was going to bite me in the ass sooner or later—of course my own mother would love to tease me about my one and only fiancé! But what else could she want to know? She watched me during the years I was living...

"Do you love him, Lucy?"

"Natsu?"

"Yes, Natsu."

"Of course I do." I replied as quickly as she asked. She smiled at me and it looked like she wanted to squeal but just kept it in anyways. She sighed and sat down right next to me on the floor, looking up at the clear bright sky. "You know, I know who his mother is."

"You do?! I mean—how?!"

"I met her, of course! As soon as Natsu met you, I met her! It was weird because I was just plucking some tulips in the meadow then this blue-haired woman comes in this pale green dress with a small child in her arms. It was an infant and I instantly knew who this woman was... it truly was a heartbreaking matter."

I smiled widely as I knew that was definitely Natsu's foster-mom and I really wanted to tell him! But I couldn't... because, I died.

My smile became a frown and I looked down at the ground in disappointment. Natsu... how was he doing with me gone and how was everyone else managing? I felt terrible just suddenly passing away like this.

"Anyways, she and I gossip all the time about you two! Even though I can't watch over Natsu personally, I can watch over you personally. Watching over Natsu is Grandine's job—pfft."

"Can I... meet her?" I asked softly, looking at my mother who stood back up, her pale pink dress swirling in place. She dusted the invisible dust off her before she grabbed my arm, pulling me down the hill that lead to some sort of beach that I never realized was there. My mother pulled me all the way down towards the sandy beach that felt like silk under my feet and by this other hill that hid a small tiny house.

It was a beautiful pale yellow in color and had all sorts of flowers surrounding it. It was very homey in my eyes.

"Grandine, dear! I have a visitor!" My mother shouted in a sing-song voice. She knocked on the door and waited, flashing me a quick smile.

"Mama, do you just visit anyone that you want here? Like, once they die, of course?"

"Yes, you can. But in order to do that, you'll need to know their location." She giggled, gasping in surprise when the door opened.

My eyes widen in shock when I witness the woman that I only seen in pictures in person, right in front of me. And god, she was stunning! No wonder Igneel married this woman; she was absolutely magnificent in person.

She looked at us curiously and she had a child in her arms who I knew was supposed to be their first kid before the terrible death.

"Layla?" She said in a tone that was known as surprise. Her brown eyes trailed to her smiling face to my face and back.

"Grandine! Look who it is!" My mother shouted happily as she pulled me closer.

Grandine-San squinted and looked at me in pure surprise. "Lucy, too?" Now she sounded more surprise and I just smiled sheepishly at her nodding figure. "Yes, isn't it wonderful? Well, not about her being here but just seeing her! Isn't she beautiful?" My mother gushed making me blush.

"Seeing her in person—I'm surprise my son could find someone like her." She scoffed. She opened her door and invited us inside, my mom eagerly pulling us inside.

I looked around her small home and instantly, it reminded me of my house that I have bought with Natsu. It was very warm and comfortable; it felt like real life. I didn't know coming to the afterlife could be like living the real life—everything was just so normal but oddly bright and beautiful.

"Make yourselves at home. Let me put this little monster to bed before I come talk to you two!" Grandine said as she left the room, leaving my mom and me sitting in the living room. I just looked around the place and admired it, liking how it smelt like fresh flowers and campfire wood. It sort of smelt like Natsu and I liked how she somehow had a picture of him by the table. I wonder how she got it when she never took it... maybe heaven was a magical place where you can do things in the places you are in.

I looked over at my stunning mother to see her smiling like always and also admiring the beautiful house. I was really happy that she was by my side—I wonder if I can see some other relatives my mother always talked about.

We could have always had that family reunion my mother always wanted.

After a while, Grandine came back rushing into the room, sitting down in front of us. She huffed slightly and smiled at us before she crossed her legs and looked straight at me. "So, what brings you guys here?"

"Oh Lucy wanted to see you! I guess she was curious on who her fiancé's foster-mother was."

"Is that true?"

I nodded shyly and she flashed a familiar grin at me, my body automatically relaxing. I don't know what it was but whenever a Dragneel grins at me... I relax. Maybe it was because of Natsu but either way, it was nice.

"I am truly amazed on how beautiful you are. How did my idiotic son get to you?"

"Well—"

"Oh you don't need to tell me. I know already! That horny idiot does get his ways with the ladies, y'know?"

I couldn't help but giggle at her words and nod.

If these two knew everything... they must have seen and hear everything we both done! Oh that's so embarrassing... I wish I could have done something if I knew that from the start.

"So, why is she here?" Grandine asked, pointing at me while looking at my mother who frowned.

"I died." I said, replying to her question. My mom looked at me with her eyebrow raised as Grandine looked a bit shocked. I looked at my mom in confusion, wondering what she had in mind.

"You're not dead, Lucy." She told with making me furrow my eyebrows and stared at her in confusion. "What do you mean I'm not dead? This is... heaven, right?"

"Yes dear but you're not dead. You're in a coma which brought you here," She sighed and placed her hand on her cheek. "I never thought it would turn out this way, though."

"But... why? Why didn't you tell me this earlier? Will I ever wake up?"

"Of course, baby." She replied as she kissed the top of my head. She looked over at Grandine whom only smiled in response. She pointed at the TV that was next to the couches and I realized it had Natsu showing on the screen.

"This is where I watch my precious boys. Right now, Natsu is occupied in your hospital room since you've been in the coma. He's real devastated and all he could do is think about you." She said as I watched Natsu pace around the hospital room with bags under his eyes and it looked like he hasn't showered in days. It made me feel terrible seeing him like that and when I see him trying to act like he's totally fine with it, it breaks my heart even more.

"The world here and the world there have different timezones. It takes time for you to enter here so it's been a while since you've been in a coma. With every passing hour here, it's a month and the longer you stay here; the faster time goes by in the real world. So you better hurry and go back." Grandine advised as I whipped the tears away from my face. I looked on over to my mother and back at the TV to see Natsu by my sleeping body, tears brimming in my eyes.

What was most important? Being by my mother's side or being with Natsu? I missed her... I truly and did and now that I'm with her again, I don't want to go. But Natsu must be so alone... we gave each other promises... we need to live our lives together.

"H—how long have I been in the coma?"

"Per say, almost a month and a half right now. But once it reaches the second hour mark, it'll be two months and the longer you're out of your body, the worse your body will get."

"How do I get back, exactly?"

"Just follow the light that takes you."

"B—but, I don't want to leave. You two are amazing—I want to talk more and I want to experience more things!" I cried out as I held onto my mother tightly. I felt the familiar comforting of her back rubbing and cooing, tears rushing down my face. "Mama, I don't want you to leave me again."

"Lucy, I never left your side. I will always watch over you and make sure you won't visit me till at least your children had children."

That was the last thing I heard till everything disappeared from me once more.

"Month 2 and a half and sleeping beauty still haven't risen. Find out in the next episode if—"

"Fuck you, stripper."

"I was trying to brighten the mood."

"Well it's not helping." Natsu snapped as he rinsed the towel that he used to wipe Lucy's face off, looking at her blank face.

It was true... Lucy hasn't woken up for almost three months now and it made him lose hope ever so slowly... the doctor had advised that if she didn't wake up soon, they'll just have to cut the supplies out. And Natsu didn't want that—if they cut the supplies that mean they've given up on her and she would eventually die. He couldn't let that happen—not until they get married and live their lives together, at least.

"Hey, I'm going to go get something to drink, do you want anything?"

"Can you get me a can of coke?"

"Yeah, sure thing." Gray mumbled before leaving the room. Natsu watched him leave the room and finally sat down next to the bed, holding onto the cold hands of his fiancé. He stared at her face and kissed her hand, smiling sadly at the woman. "Lucy, school will be starting again. And we didn't even get to go on cool summer adventures together... when are you coming back to me?"

He lowered his head on the bed and sighed, the tears refusing to come out. He was completely dry—he ran out of tears to waste and it just didn't happen anymore. He just accepted the fact that she wasn't going to wake up anytime soon so his tears just stopped coming out.

But he didn't need to cry anymore—he had faith she will wake up, one day.

Natsu slowly closed his eyes as he started to doze off a bit, his hands gently clutching hers. He didn't know if he was dreaming when he felt her hand twitch but he decided it was his head playing tricks on him since he thought he saw her body levitating once before. But when he felt her hand twitch one more and grab his hand softly, his head instantly shot up and his eyes widened.

He watched closely as her eyelids moved rapidly, her eyes opening after a moment of trying to lift them up. Natsu gasped as she looked directly at him with those chocolate brown eyes of hers, his heart squeezing tightly in his chest.

"L—Lucy?"

"N—Natsu?" She rasped out making him whimper. Tears fell slowly as he leaned in and hugged her tightly, holding onto her as if his life depended on it. "Lucy... Lucy! Oh my—Lucy, you're awake... you're finally awake!"

"Natsu..."

"Here, I'll call the doctor!" He said as he quickly pressed the button to get the nurse. He pulled back and looked at the blonde with his blurry vision as she softly smiled at him, holding his large palm in hers which progressively started to warm up. He struggled to keep his tears in as he couldn't help but just thank whoever is up there to allow his beautiful Lucy to wake up once more.

"Lucy... you don't know how much I missed you... idiot, don't just go in a coma like that."

"Natsu... water?"

The rosy-haired male quickly moved around to get her the liquid she asked for, gently helping her drink from the cup he had poured the water in. He placed the cup back down and made sure her bed was perfect height so she was sitting comfortably. He smiled at her pale face as he kissed her palm. "Lucy, thank god you woke up before I went insane."

"I couldn't let that happen, right?"

"Oh you can't believe how long I've been itching to hear your voice again." He mumbled as he leaned in and kissed her on the mouth. She smiled softly against his lips as they locked lips, pulling away when the door opened. They turned to see the doctor come in with a bright smile, a clipboard in his arm.

"Ah, Miss Heartfillia, you're awake."

"Yes, I am."

"Great! I'll just check up on you to see if there are any more problems." He stated as Natsu pulled away from his fiancé. He gave the two some privacy as he stepped out of the room, reassuring that he'll be back after the look Lucy gave him. He pulled out his phone and dialed his friend's number, whipping the tears that escaped his eyes.

"Hello?"

"Lis! Lucy is awake! She woke up! Hurry to the hospital—tell everyone! Lucy's awake!" He shouted into the phone happily making Lisanna gasp from the other line. He heard shuffling till she shouted back, "I'll be there in 10 minutes!"

The line went dead and he had a face-splitting grin on his handsome face.

"Whoa, what happened? You okay?" Gray asked as he approached Natsu with two cans on coke in his palms. He raised a brow as Natsu looked at him with a huge grin on his face. Before he knew it, Natsu swiftly wrapped his arms around the taller male. His eyes widen in shock as he witness hisrival slash enemy hug him. He felt quiet disturbed but maybe he needed it...

"Uh, you okay there, bud?"

"She's awake!" He said with a trembling tone of voice. "She's awake!" He repeated, pulling away to wipe the tears away once more. Gray's whole body went cold as he heard the words come out of the grinning male's mouth, quickly handing him the drinks before opening the door to the hospital room.

He went completely still when he saw the blonde that was lying on the bed for almost three months talking and moving.

He almost thought it was a dream.

Gray slowly walked towards the bed where Lucy was sitting and interacting with the doctor, making sure he didn't do anything wrong to make her go back to sleep again.

He reached her bed and stopped right in front of it, staring right at her smiling face till she finally looked at him. She looked confused but smiled anyways. "Gray!"

"Lucy? You're... awake."

"Yeah, I am!" She said happily making his whole body relax. A big breath of air flew out of his mouth as he walked on over to the chair next to her bed before sitting down, slamming his head down on the soft bed of hers. "Goddamn it Lucy, you little—you had everyone worry for two months and a half and you're just smiling and laughing like usual. Goddamn you,"

"Sorry..."She apologized swiftly as she sheepishly smiled. She put her palm against his ink-colored ruffled hair, smiling down at the male who felt happiness bubble inside his chest. "You're like a sister to me, Lucy. Don't ever scare me—us, like that again."

"I promise I won't."

"Good. Now, before all hell breaks loose, you need to prepare for what you have been in for."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean—"Gray started to say but stopped when the door slammed open and a pregnant white-haired woman stood. Natsu tried holding her back from behind but she only jerked him off, rushing to the blonde's side before embracing her in a bear hug. "Lucy! Oh, my precious Lucy-boo! Lucy! Ah, you're awake! I'm so happy!"

"L—Lisanna?" Lucy uttered speechlessly as the woman tried crushing the weak woman. Natsu came rushing over with Laxus as he tried prying the woman off his woman who was suffocating greatly. "Lisanna, stop it! Lucy is still too weak for you to be crushing her with your monstrous strength!"

"Leave us alone! We're having a moment!" Lisanna shouted loudly making the two males back away quickly. Gray also backed away and went on over to the couch as her voice echoed through the room, Lucy being a bit afraid to be near the pregnant one. She jumped in her spot when Lisanna turned to her with a beaming smile before her tears started to fall from her crystal blue eyes. "Lucy, you don't know how long I've been waiting for you to wake up! Don't ever leave me like that again!"

"I—I'm sorry..." She said as she rubbed the back of Lisanna, looking at Natsu who only shrugged. "Uh, by the way—Lisanna, you shouldn't be so stressed out. You have the baby inside you..."

"I know, I know. And guess what? It's going to be a little boy!"

"A boy?! Oh my—he will be handsome! I can't wait to see him."

"So can't I. I'm glad you woke up before Lance was born... thank you." Lisanna said as she grabbed both hands of hers. Lucy gave her a soft smile as they embraced each other tightly.

Soon after, the door slammed open again to have Erza and everyone else run inside to greet the blonde who's been slumbering for the longest time ever. She was greeted with bear hugs, screams, and tears. It was great to see everyone so happy and grateful that she was awake but... what about her mother back in heaven? How was that turning out?

But somehow, she knew she made a good choice on coming back.

The door slammed open as a ginger stood by the doorway, everyone staring at the male who huffed and puffed. His eyes wandered around the room till he saw his blonde sleeping beauty awake and on the bed, staring right back at him. He quickly closed the door and rushed on over to her side, grabbing the sides of her face to quickly kiss her lips, again.

The whole room went dead silent as a deadly aura appeared in the room.

Natsu quickly rushed to their side to break them apart with murderous thought but when he was halfway there, Lucy pulled away and punched him square in the face.

"You perverted stupid lion!" She shouted as the ginger fell to the floor and became completely knocked out.

The whole room was amazed on what had happened but the only ones laughing were Gray and Natsu who both gave Lucy high-fives and praises.

Lucy had no clue on what had just happened.
