"Natsuuu... I'm really hot!"

"I know you are, Luce."

"I didn't mean it like that!"

Snickering at his wife's distress, the rosy-haired Dragneel stared at Lucy in amusement as she whined about the weather. It was the end of May and close to June as the hot weather started to come along. And since Lucy was nine months pregnant and almost due, she was sensitive to the weather. At time when it was super hot, she would be freezing and when it was cold at times, she would be hot.

Baby Igneel was messing up their entire lifestyle and it drove everyone crazy.

Especially since he was due anytime soon.

"Please, do something about it, Natsu."

"I can't just change the weather, Luce. And the air conditioning is on full blast right now," he pointed out as he tried his best not to laugh at his wife. "I'm wearing a fucking sweater for fuck sakes!"

Grabbing the small cushion, the blonde threw it right at her husband who easily caught it in his hands.

"Watch your mouth! Iggy has ears now!"

"He's been having ears since month two," he chuckled as another pillow was thrown his way. "I'm sure he heard his mother say loads of stuff before."

Groaning out, Lucy leaned against the couch and whined even louder as she wiped the sweat away from her forehead. "I'm going to have to walk around naked if it continues to become hot like this." She huffed making Natsu laugh out loud.

"I don't mind that at all!"

Throwing her husband a dirty look, the blonde struggled to sit up and stand up as her baby bump was too big, now.

Noticing the struggling of his wife, Natsu quickly got up and went to her aid as he at her back down. "Lucy—where are you going? You can barely walk; let me get it for you." He offered but she only shook her head. "Please. I can't have you walking around and accidentally falling over because of Igneel."

"Is it because I'm nine months pregnant?"

"It is because you're nine months pregnant. Besides, I don't want you moving too much before your doctor's appointment." He said as he eyed the clock that said it was barely three in the afternoon. "So just relax for another hour and then we'll be—"

"Why are you so paranoid?" She questioned making him stiffen up. "Is it because of what Lisanna did to you last week?"

Narrowing his gaze to the floor, Natsu became dead silent as he remembered how Lisanna called him pretending to freak out about how Lucy was going into labor.

Never again will he believe her again.

"Natsu?"

"Of course not!" He practically snapped as he cleared his throat and stood up to stretch. "I'll get you some juice, yeah?"

Nodding in agreement, the blonde just watched her husband walk away awkwardly as she felt her large baby bump. She could feel the warmth that was coming from her son and it instantly made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

She waited nine months for this and now that it was coming close, she became nervous.

Thinking about being in public and having to go into labor made her inside tremble and thinking about going into labor just made her want to pass out.

Reading and listening to all the stories about giving birth made her sick to her stomach.

Giving her stomach a light tap, the blonde cooed at her unborn son. "Iggy, you love mommy so you won't give mommy a rough time, right?"

But as soon as she said that, she suddenly felt something wet and warm drip down her leg making her silently sit there to try and figure what it is. It took her a good minute before she started to feel the pain increase around her pelvis and her eyes widened as she went into panic mode.

"What... am I... going...? Natsu! Oh my god, Natsu! Natsu!"

"Why are you screaming like your water broke or something?" The rosy-haired male asked as he came back with a box of cold apple juice. "What's wrong? Why do you look so pale?" He stood in front of his wife for a good moment.

He stood there staring at the face of his wife until his gaze shifted towards the wet spot on the carpet. The box of apple juice fell and he turned around and made a dash for it making her cry out in confusion. Soon, he came back with a bag in his hand and his car keys in the other.

"C—come on, Lucy! Oh my god, you're going into labor! You're going into labor!" Natsu shouted in half excitement and half nervousness. "Oh my god—Lucy, you're going into labor!"

"You don't need to repeat it!" The blonde snapped as she grabbed her husband for support. "I know I'm going into labor so hurry up and drive me to the damn hospital!"

"R—right! I, uh, let's go! I gotta call Lis and everyone else!" He said as he half-carried and half-dragged Lucy towards their car. He threw her bag somewhere in the back before he fumbled with his keys and drove off in a panic manner.

By the time he was at the first stoplight, Lucy was screaming in pain leaving the sensitive male cringing.

"Holy fuck, I was not prepared for this. I was not prepared for this, god bless my soul. My god, oh my lord, oh my god."

"Just shut up and drive!"

"Right! Right! Driving and shutting up and oh my gosh, I have to call Igneel!"

Trying his best to juggle everything with one hand, the male drove as fast as he can while punching in buttons on his screen to call his father through the entire car. Listening to the rings that echoed through the car, Natsu made a turn as Lucy cried out in surprise and pain.

And with Igneel answering the phone with a simple, hello? Lucy answered by screaming in pain.

"L—Lucy?"

"Dad! Dad—Lucy is going into labor and I need you to come to the hospital! Call Gray and the others and meet us there, will you?!" He half-screamed at his father as his eyes darted from place to place as he drove recklessly. Honking at cars to get out the way and cursing out loud, the rosy-haired Dragneel made it to the hospital just in time to run inside and practically throw a huge hissy-fit to get nurses outside to get his wife.

Curse words and cries of worry flew out of his mouth here and there as they took Lucy into a room. He tried to follow but he was pushed right back, saying he should stay outside for now as they worked on things.

It got him aggravated and he cursed right at the nurse but was stopped when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Natsu, that's enough."

Whirling around in his spot to yell at that person, he was surprised when it was his father right behind him.

"Natsu—"

"Dad! Great! You're here! Tell this nurse that it's my wife in there giving birth and she needs me! She wouldn't let me inside and—"

"I'm sorry for my son's rude behavior—he's about to be a father so, y'know." Igneel apologized as he placed his hand over the mouth of his son's running mouth. "Please resumed back to your... nurse duties. I have this handled."

Eyeing the two Dragneel's, the nurse walked away from the two giving them the awkward stare. Igneel merely smiled and waved goodbye as he nearly suffocated his son with his large hand that was clamped around his mouth.

When she disappeared down the hall, Natsu finally got the nerve to push his father away and take in a huge gasp of air.

"Dad! What the fuck?! I had that handled!"

"You've got nothing handled! All you're doing is freaking out and you're the last person who should be freaking out!"

"My wife is having a—!"

"I know she is, Natsu! That's why we're here right now but if you're freaking out over this while Lucy is the one giving birth, you're making it uncomfortable and hard for her! You have to be the calm one in this situation and you have to be there for Lucy and calming her down but how can you when you're the one who needs to be calm down?! You're not the one giving birth!" Igneel snapped right into his son's face as everyone around started to stare at the two arguing. "This is why they're not letting you inside because they're afraid you're going to be the one screaming along with your wife!"

Opening his mouth to retort back to that, he was interrupted when Lisanna came running down the hall and sliding on the waxed floors towards the two males. She almost slipped twice and when she made it to them, she was panting.

"I heard Lucy is in labor! Where is she?! Is she okay?! Does she need me?! Why aren't you in there with her?! Oh my god, Lucy is going into labor! She's going to have a baby! I'm not the only one who's a mother now! Oh my god, she's going into labor!"

Looking at Lisanna and back at his father, Natsu gave his father a knowing look saying that he wasn't the only one freaking out over this.

Igneel could only press his palm against his forehead in a exhausted manner.

"I don't understand. I just don't understand. Why am I not allowed to enter the room when my wife is in labor?"

"I don't understand why I can't go in there when my girlfriend is in labor."

"Shut it you two," Erza snapped at the two who were seated right next to each other on the bench as she held baby Lance in her arms. "you'll be causing more problems if you go in there with Lucy."

Looking away from each other and Erza, their gazes fell to the floor.

In the waiting room was a whole group of people waiting around for the newborn Igneel to come into the world. People were anxious and jittery as time passed by and with the way Natsu and Lisanna were whining, it was driving everyone crazy.

It was already seven in the afternoon and four hours in, baby Igneel still was struggling to come out which made everyone restless.

Especially Natsu since he really wanted to go inside but wasn't allowed in because of his craziness and shouting. They allowed him in once and after that, he wasn't allowed in since all he did was make Lucy cry and scream a lot more than she was supposed to.

"Oh, I wonder what is taking Lucy so long."

"You can't rush perfection," Igneel spoke up making the ones around look at the red-haired man. "a baby named after somebody like me can take all the time he needs."

"Dad, shut up." Natsu snapped at his father who was smirking right at his son who was giving him the dirty eye. "You're not helping at all."

"Hey, I took at least twelve hours before I came out into the world, as well."

"I feel bad for Mrs. Dragneel..." Levy whispered towards Erza who nodded in agreement as the others watched the two Dragneel's bicker back and forth.

It continued for a moment before a nurse came out of the delivery room and approached the two making Natsu instantly stand up and jump right in front of her scaring her slightly. She backed away as Natsu started to blurt out question after question making her nervously look at him.

"Is it over? Is my wife okay? What happened?"

"Are you the spouse of Ms. Lucy Dragneel?"

"Yes, I'm her husband." He nodded repeatedly as he swallowed thickly. "Is... everything alright?"

"Would you follow me inside? Just you?" She asked when she noticed that almost everyone waiting was about to follow making Natsu nod. He gave his friends and father a knowing worried look before he followed the nurse into the delivery room where it smelt mostly like sweat, tears, and blood.

Walking further inside, he noticed his wife on the bed sweating up a storm as she lied there all out of breath with the doctor sitting right where he was when he left.

"N—Natsu..!"

"Lucy!" He cried out as he went over to his wife's side to grasp her hand and squeeze it. "Are you okay? What's going on? Is Iggy okay?"

"Natsu..."

"What's going on, doc? Is everything okay?" Natsu asked the doctor as his brows furrowed and a thin sheet of sweat started to form on his forehead. "Is my wife going to be okay? Is my son okay?" He started to worry as the doctor sighed and pulled down his mask to lean back slightly.

"Mr. Dragneel?"

"Yes?"

"I hate to break the news to you now after it's been nine months but..."

"But?!"

"But... you're having twins."

And just like that, another set of cries were heard and nurses were rushing here and there to help out as Natsu stood there in completely silence. His ears rang as he heard the soft cries of his newborn child that was brought into the world. His body felt stiff and frozen and he couldn't utter a single word as he watched the nurses clean his newborn and wrap his child in a clean blanket to bring over to him.

"T—twins..?" Natsu whispered as he stared at the baby in the blanket before another nurse came over and brought over another bundle presenting another child. "We had... twins? But..."

"This doesn't usually happen because we would know when you get a scan but this one just popped out of nowhere!" The doctor chuckled as he whipped the sweat off his forehead with his arm as the nurses placed the two kids into Lucy's arm who was all worn out and weak but smiling. "Congratulations."

"Twins... I have twins..." Natsu repeated as his gaze shifted over to his new family. "Are they both—?"

"The first one you normally was expecting is indeed a male but the other one is a female."

"A girl and a boy..." He gasped out as he faced his family, his eyes wide and his breath short. "Lucy... did you hear that?"

"Yes... I did," Lucy muttered as she stared down at the two that were in her arms lovingly. "we have two beautiful children, Natsu."

"Now we can use your name, too." He whispered as he trembled slightly when he reached over to stroke the top of his child's head. "Two kids in one go... look at you, you're amazing."

Feeling weak and tired from the birthing of two kids, Lucy couldn't only smile weakly as she held onto her two newborns.

Slowly sinking down onto the seat right beside the bed, Natsu placed his elbows on the bed and covered his face with his palms. "I can't... I'm so happy," the male whimpered. "I'm so happy... thank you... thank you so much."

Reaching over to press her palm against the side of his face, Lucy murmured softly, "no, thank you... if it wasn't for you, this wouldn't have been possible..."

Looking up at his wife, Natsu offered a bright smile as he grabbed her hand and kissed the inside of it.

"Looks like the chase was worth it after all..."

notes: guess what? i hate this chapter. idk, it seems like the way i write got crappier and i just hate it. but at least i uploaded this annnd more bad news. this is the second to last chapter of this which means the next time i upload this, IT WILL BE COMPLETED.
