Okay so yes, I'm still alive. No, I haven't forgotten about you lovelies. Yes, this chapter is short but I'm putting up another one with this one so...it's a two for one. Yeah, be happy.
You guys are still awesome.

"I made a mistake. I was angry and wasn't thinking straight."
"I understand. You watched your father murdered right before you and then Mit and I ran away. Perhaps I should have stayed, at least tried to talk to you, though I'm sure you'd agree that you wouldn't have been doing much listening."
"Yes, I have to agree. I want to repay you for this, chasing you all over the desert, wanting to kill you. I saw you as an animal, rather than the person you are. I chose to put aside the things you'd done for me, the loyalty you showed me. There's no excuse for that."
"As I said, I understand. It isn't easy to go through something like that."
I look over to him, and suddenly I remember exactly who I'm talking to. Yugi's been a slave all his life, he watched both his parents killed right before his eyes, even if he was too young to remember it, than he was taken away to live in caves with thieves, his only real friend was Mit. He was brought to the palace believed to be a thief himself and would be dead if I hadn't stepped in, or perhaps Mit would have broken in to save him. Yugi though, has seen far worse things than I have, he's been through things I'll never understand. Yugi may be small but he is strong and smart. He truly does understand, "Yugi, I want you to return to the palace with me because I want you beside me, if you want to of course."
"Is that a question or a statement?"
"Will you stay at the palace with me, please?" I feel helpless right now. I don't want him out of my sight, ever. I don't want him to leave me, not now. I never want to be without him. Do I? Do I love him?
"I'll go to the palace, but I don't know if I'll stay. There isn't really anywhere else for us to go right now anyway."
"Do you miss it, the palace I mean?"
Yugi laughs, "Who wouldn't? I've never seen a place as beautiful as the palace. Even Mit loves it and he only saw the garden."
Mit snaps his jaws and snorts, making Yugi smile and scratch his blood red mane, "Yugi, do you know where Mit came from?" I ask curiously.
"No idea, he just showed up one day in the graveyard I used to visit. I'd meet him there every time I got the chance to."
"He's very unusual that's for sure."
"Pharaoh, when we get to the palace, would it be possible for us to talk, without anyone around?" Yugi asks glancing behind us at my men and Seth.
"I would like that very much."
He meets my eye for the first time and gives a small smile before looking ahead to the desert.
