Ok Guys I'm back with another action packed chapter to Midoriichi Next Generation. We are getting closer to the end and more importantly, the one shot. Why is the one shot so important you say? Well I'll let it speak for its self. Also this will be a long chapter just for you all. One more chapter to go and then the epilogue.
I do not own the Kim Possible Characters, they belong to Disney. I do However own Kuraiichi, Rida, Akai, Hori, Midoriko, Chisana-ichi, Josei, On'nanako as well as the names Buraun, Koni, Roni, Midoriichi, Hekuta, Murasaki and Kimiko.
Ch.28 Ghosts of the Past
Midoriichi felt it, they all did. Bo'A was dead, and so was Akai. Midoriichi was angered and saddened, first they brainwash Midoriko, then they kill Hekuta, and now they took Akai from them as well. Midoriichi roared out as she lifted up Moniku and threw her over her shoulder.
Moniku was surprised, she thought her fight with Midoriko would have tired her out.
"Ma ikedo (Oh well)." Moniku said.
She took a quick glance around. She saw Ron fending off as much of the undead as he could, but his strength was fading. That's when Yori appeared out of nowhere. She had several kunai in each of her hands. She threw them with great precision hitting them in the head or chest. Seconds afterward the tags on them came to life with fire, resulting in an explosion.
The explosion took out a few more others, but it wasn't great enough to stop the undead all together. She did various hand signs before grabbing more kunai.
"Kage Kunai Gijutsu! (Shadow Kunai Technique)." Yori said as she launched the kunai.
Yori threw the kunai from her hands and they immediately multiplied. They rained down on the undead and the explosive tags detonated. Ron and Yori were satisfied with the results this time around.
"They're pulling themselves together!" Ron shouted.
"Not for long." Jodan said as she held out her right palm emitting holy energy.
She fired a blast at that covered the reforming dead and purified them, erasing them completely. Kimiko was right behind her using the Heaven's Bow. She gathered pure holy energy and formed it into an arrow. She released the energy and shot into the army engulfing a good number in an explosion.
"Kimiko." Jodan called out to her.
"I'll be fine." Kimiko said panting heavily.
They looked up when they heard a crash. They saw that Chisana-ichi had once again pinned Midoriko down.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" Chisana-ichi asked. "Another life lost because of you. Are you going to let them kill us all? Are you going to let them kill me? Your twin sister." She asked Midoriko.
Midoriko only smiled. This infuriated Chisana-ichi and she punched Midoriko across the face. Midoriko on the other hand just wanted to end this now. Her uncle and grandmother died because they got in the way. She didn't kill them, so it was of no consequence to her. Her only focus was on Midoriichi, the woman who refused to acknowledge her greatness, always pointing out her faults. Enraged she grabbed Chisana-ichi by the throat.
"I'm done playing, with you. Chisana-ichi you don't offer any kind of challenge." Midoriko told her.
Midoriko forced some of her demonic aura into Chisana-ichi as she prepared to put under a high level Sakushi (Illusion).
XX
Reo, Josei and Chita were trying their best to fend off Koni and Roni. Chita jumped as Roni slammed into the ground creating a small dust cloud. She shot out of it and grabbed him, her claws sinking deep into his flesh. He roared in pain as he removed Roni and threw her to the ground.
Chita lashed out with his claws just missing Roni as she managed to roll out of the way. Roni stood and noticed the slashes in her top that almost completely exposed her right breast.
"This was a favorite of mine!" Roni growled.
"Heh. You know you remind me of someone when you get all worked up like that." Chita responded. "It's kinda hot." He said with a smirk.
Roni smiled. "A comedian huh? Let's see if you have anything smart to say after this." Roni's claws extended and turned black as she funneled her demonic energy through them, seeing her sister finally get serious, Koni did the same.
"Reo be careful, those claws of theirs are not to be taken lightly." Josei said.
"Got it, but what about you?" He asked.
"Just back me up." Josei said with a confident smirk, as her claws extended and glowed yellow.
Josei ran in and clashed with Koni, their energies flying off like sparks from two swords clashing. Reo rushed in behind Josei and jumped up into the air. Koni was prepared as she used Josei as a prop and performed a hand stand on Josei's shoulders, and kicked Reo in the gut.
Josei grabbed Koni and slammed her to the ground. Koni lashed out with her foot, and tripped Josei. Reo was quick to act and pounced onto Koni.
"You're just as aggravating as Buraun was." She told him.
"Tell me something "Sis". Why did you kill her? What did she do to you? Was she that bad of a person?" Reo asked her.
"No, Buraun was actually a good sister. But she was a half demon, and needed to be reminded of her place in the world. She was a disgrace for that fact, and that fact alone, and that fact I cannot forgive." Koni said looking at Josei.
Misoriko watched from above as she held on to Chisana-ichi. She knew Koni and Roni from somewhere. She thought long and hard and then it came back to her. She recalled being shown a vision of those two ganging up and killing their own sister.
She found herself getting angry, her attention then shifted to her younger sister and it made her think. Wasn't she doing the same thing? No, she was bringing order and she needed to beat Midoriichi for that order to happen.
She looked down and saw that Midoriichi was using dopplegangers to take on Moniku. Midoriichi and her dopplegangers had her surrounded and they rushed in from all sides. Moniku blocked the first one and stabbed it through the heart, making it disappear. She then quickly elbowed the one behind her and grabbed it and swung it around knocking another dopple ganger back.
"Two left." Moniku grumbled.
Midoriichi ran in with her doppleganger to attack. She ran side by side with each other, heading straight for Moniku. Moniku wasn't surprised when Midoriichi's doppleganger leapt over in an attempt to surround her. Moniku was swift in her movements as she grabbed the doppleganger's foot and used it to swat Midoriichi away, before slamming the doppleganger on to the ground and then smashing the face in with her foot.
"All too easy, Midoriichi." She said to the Tori Leader. "At least make your final moments more fun."
"I'm sorry, but I've always been a sore loser." Midoriichi responded.
Midoriichi instantly put up her guard as she sensed an attack coming. She turned to her left to catch Midoriko. The two broke apart and stared each other down. Midoriko suddenly attacked going for a kick to her mother's head. Midoriichi caught her foot, and slammed Midoriko into the ground. She was ready to go for a knockout blow, but Moniku attacked.
Midoriichi dodged her and pushed Moniku back as Midoriko launched herself into the air and came down with her hands covered in black demonic aura. Midoriichi covered her hands in her green demonic aura and exchanged blows with her daughter. They both struck each other in the face, knocking the other back. They recovered at the same time to simultaneously launch demonic energy at each other, and the attacks canceled the other out.
Midoriichi was tired, Midoriko was strong, stronger than she anticipated. Plus she had Moniku to worry about as well.
"What else could possibly go wrong?" She mumbled.
Suddenly a roar was heard, making everyone look up. They watched as a giant bat flew over head, and circled over them.
"Komori? But I killed her." Kimiko said.
The bat shrunk as it took on Komori's normal state. She walked over to Moniku who was glad to see she was still alive.
"Mother, we don't have much time. Bo'A is dead and my time is short." Komori said.
Moniku nodded. She looked over to see the Neko sisters were applying the pressure on their opponents, pushing them away from the battle. Koni had Josei's number, her only saving grace was Reo.
"Chita!" Reo called out.
"Yeah." He called back dodging Roni's claws.
"How much energy do you have left?" He asked.
"Enough why?" He asked, jumping over Roni and kicking her in her in the back.
"I was thinking of using our trump card." Reo said, blocking Koni and jumping back.
"Really?" Chita responded. "You think that's a wise investment of our energy?" He as ked.
"I wouldn't be suggesting it if I didn't think so." Reo replied.
Chita smiled. "Then let's put on a show."
Both Reo and Chita put some distance between themselves and the Neko sisters, as well as making sure they were standing between them and Josei.
That's when they began to flare their demonic aura. Koni and Roni stared on curiously. Their eyes widened as they saw the transformation take place. Suddenly both boys were completely covered in their aura as it grew twice their size.
"K-Koni, that's impossible right? Tell me it's impossible! Roni called out.
"It's certainly unheard of." She responded.
Suddenly a giant cheetah and panther shot forth eyeing the sisters.
"Half-demons achieving a full demon's true transformed state. I guess Buraun started a trend." Koni surmised.
Koni looked over as she heard Roni snicker.
"That's all?" She said. "I can't believe I was actually worried. What runts!" Roni laughed.
Roni closed her eyes as she laughed harder. The moment she did, Chita struck. Using his speed demon technique, he instantly closed the distance and hit Roni directly in the face with his paw.
Koni turned to look behind her, amazed at the increase of speed.
'He still smells half demon, but everything else suggests otherwise. So how?' Koni thought.
Koni turned when she heard Reo coming for her. She jumped back and avoided his claws, and jaws. She wasn't going to underestimate them now, like Roni just did. She caught Reo's jaws in her hands as he slowly pushed her back. Not giving her time to react, Reo's paw connected with her side, making her tumble away.
Their attention shifted to Roni's direction when they heard laughter. Her body slowly rose and they saw that her head was turned a complete one-eighty degrees. She reached up and turned her head back in the correct direction.
"Nice one kid, didn't think you had it in you." Roni said.
Roni looked over to see Koni pulling herself back together, after being split in half by Reo's paw.
"My, my that was quite the attack. I'd give it a two out of a hundred." Koni smiled.
"It's no good, they're immortal. We can't kill what's already dead." Josei told them.
"You are so correct Mother." Koni said with a dark smile.
"We need to purify them, or completely render their bodies useless." Josei advised. "And since both Kimiko and Jodan are otherwise engaged, it's up to us."
Reo nodded showing he understood. Neither he or Chita possessed the power or ability to purify Koni and Roni. It's practically impossible for demons to use holy weapons or techniques. So they would have to go with their trump card.
Reo looked over to Chita. Chita returned the glance and nodded. He geared himself up as he began sprinting towards Roni. She jumped back as Chita ran past her. She smiled as she easily evaded him. She shifted her attention to Reo as he approached her, and she dodged him as well. Chita came back around and as he did, he aimed for Koni.
Koni was directly in his path, and she braced herself as her claws glowed white. She rushed him and tried to slash him with her claws. Her claws and hands were shattered as they made contact with his fur. Chita slammed into her sending her rolling across the ground as Chita sped by.
Roni noticed that Chita was circling around again. She braced herself ready to take the hit, but he sped past her. Roni was confused she turned to see him coming back around again, but faster, just to blow past her again.
'Why does he keep running in circles?' Roni began to think. She watched for a bit and watched as he gained more speed as he continued to run in a circle, eventually creating a cloud of dust.
"Wait a minute! It's a trap!" Roni realized.
She sensed that Reo was building up his energy as Chita used his speed demon technique to create a rotating column of dust and debris.
"Koni we have to get out of here." Roni told her.
Koni nodded. She didn't like the feeling she was getting from Reo's energy. They sprinted towards the rotating column of dust and they got knocked back. Both looked wide eyed at what had just happened.
"What the hell was that?" Roni asked.
Roni tried again and was knocked back again, this time receiving a deep gash on her face. She got up and looked at Koni. Koni walked up to the wall and stuck her hand into it, only to lose it. She pulled it back and looked at it, watching as her bones and rotting flesh and organs regenerated. She looked all around examining the rotating dust cloud.
"Roni see if there is another way out." She told her younger sister.
Roni immediately began sprinting to the other side, with full intent of barreling through. She was knocked back again, this time with a deep gash in her torso, revealing her undead heart and lungs.
Roni tried some other spots only to get the same results. She grew frustrated and roared out in anger. Koni watched the cloud as she noticed the presence from within. Roni caught her attention as she jumped up. The next thing Koni saw was Roni flying towards her. Koni noticed that the dust fluctuated.
'What was that just now?' Koni wondered. She looked down to see long gashes on Roni.
'Claw marks?' Koni thought to herself. 'I need to verify something.' She said as she began sprinting to the far side of the rotating column of dust.
As she approached the wall she heard something behind her. Koni turned to look back, wide eyed at what she saw before being knocked into the center of the dust cloud. Koni sat up, she figured as much. It was Chita keeping them inside leaving the dust cloud.
"No demon can move that fast, not since Kuraiichi." She said.
Koni had enough of those two half-demons showing her up. She would transform and take care of everything. She began building up her energy as her demonic aura flared about. That's when Koni looked up feeling a huge surge of power. She saw Reo above her his demonic aura at its peak. He suddenly came to life with flames that covered his body and increased his size.
"Hi no seishin! (The spirit of fire)." Reo said as he curled into a ball and became a giant fire ball.
The Neko sisters looked up with frightened expressions as the giant ball of fire slammed into them. Chita ran even faster spinning the flames around and created a flaming rotating column of dust and fire.
Josei could feel the intensity of the flames from where she stood. She watched the spinning column of fire grow bigger as it reached up into the sky, before dispersing abruptly. Josei stared as she could feel two presences, and was relieved to see that Reo and Chita were the ones to emerge victorious.
She walked over to them and embraced them both. "You two have grown into fine men, and have become magnificent warriors." Josei told them.
"Well it's because of your harsh, but valuable training." Chita said.
"What was that?" She asked them.
"Our trump card." Reo told her. "It's our cremation technique, whatever gets caught inside it is reduced to ashes. I would like to see them regenerate from that. But I can fill you in about it later, we need to get back in the fight."
"Can we rest first, my head is still dizzy from running in all those circles." Chita said as he quickly sat down.
"Rest later, now come on." Reo said.
Chita agreed, he wanted to stop Midoriko, to many people have already died because of her.
'Midoriko, how could you do this to us?' He thought.
Josei followed behind them, she knew her time has come. After this battle she would step down and relinquish her title of clan leader to Reo.
XX
Kimiko and Jodan just finished purifying the rest of the undead soldiers Moniku resurrected. Kimiko dropped down to her knee, panting and sweating heavily.
"Kimiko you should rest, you've done enough." Kimiko said as she rose to her feet.
"Don't patronize me." Kimiko said as she rose to her feet.
She looked over to see Ron and Yori making their way towards Moniku's position. As far as she knew Murasaki and the others were still unconscious and judging by that giant flame pillar she saw earlier, that meant the battle with Koni and Roni has been decided, she just hoped that it was her companions that came out the victor.
Yori engaged Komori, allowing Ron to give Midoriichi some breathing room. Ron held fast to his giant sword as he stared at Midoriko.
Midoriko smiled. "Hi Uncle Ron." She said.
"You seemed pleased with yourself. Is this what you wanted? Do you know Hekuta and Akai are dead because of you?" Ron told her.
Midoriko's facial expression changed for a few minutes as she thought on Ron's words. However she smiled once more. "It may have taken a….unexpected turn, but I don't expect a mere human to understand me." Midoriko said.
"Mere human?" Ron repeated. "Listen to yourself, this is not you. The Midoriko I knew was never this cold hearted." He told her.
"Then you never knew the real me." She answered. "I hated how the humans treated me as a child. Like a curse, a burden. Their words were like poison to my ears, their stares were like daggers into my soul." She said. "They wanted nothing more than for me and my sister to begone. I'm sure they even wanted to kill mother as well." She said looking to Kimiko.
"Still imagine my surprise to find others suffering like me, but being oppressed by the Tori and Neko. Both clans are too proud of themselves to think of the little people. So I'll crush them both, force them to step down. I'll force open a new era of peace, where no one will be treated like a fucking plague, because they were born half demon or into some accursed clan!" Midoriko said.
"You're doing a real good job." Midoriichi said sarcastically. "So far you've managed to not only kill countless innocents, but two of your own family members."
Midoriko scoffed. "Grandmother detested me as much as you did. She thought I was a curse, looked down on me for wanting use Kuraiichi's gene. I meant nothing to her, her eyes told it all. She never really cared for me, so why should I care that she got herself killed sticking her nose where it doesn't belong?" She asked.
"You little brat!" Midoriichi roared. "That's your grandmother, living or dead you will show some fucking respect!" She told Midoriko.
"I have more respect for Kuraiichi. I plan to follow in her footsteps. There will be peace, and I will be the one to bring it." Midoriko said.
Midoriichi had flashbacks about her encounter with her birth mother. It was a night she never wanted to forget.
"No." Midoriichi said. "You'll never be like her. Even she had more honor than you've been displaying." Midoriichi told her.
I'll just never be good enough for you." Midoriko hissed, as the Hells mark on the back of her neck glowed.
"Midoriko, your plan is to bring peace. How is killing off your friends and family peaceful?" Ron asked her.
Midoriko scoffed again. "I don't care about any of you. I'm here for her." Midoriko said pointing to Midoriichi. "Once you're out of the way, I can move forward with my plan."
"Moniku!" The Lord of Hell called from the portal. "Where are the souls that you promised me? How long must I wait?" He asked with great impatience.
"Not long, I was just about to get started." She answered.
"Don't keep me waiting." He told her.
Moniku moved to attack Midoriichi, but Ron intercepted her. She was surprised at how fast he moved, but was more surprised that he was able to push her back. Ron was going to make sure Midoriichi and Chisana-ichi could take down Midoriko.
Midoriko walked towards Midoriichi, she knew that Chisana-ichi would still be out for a while, so she would settle matters with Midoriichi quickly. Jodan saw the battle about to take place and rushed in to help.
"Kimiko you stay here. I'll go and support Midoriichi." Jodan told her.
Jodan ran down and headed straight for Midoriko and Midoriichi. However before she could get closer, Komori stood in her path.
"Komori." Jodan growled.
"I'm sorry you're going to be playing with me." She told Jodan, as the priestess reached for one of her scrolls.
Kimiko watched everyone do battle. She had to save her family. She didn't blame Midoriko, it was Moniku who warped the girls' sense of judgment. She would deal with her after securing the safety of her oldest child. Kimiko made her way onto the battlefield, watching as Yori and Jodan took on the injured Komori, and as Ron held off Moniku.
Kimiko was heading straight for the two Tori women exchanging blows. She could see Midoriichi tiring. Her movements had become sluggish, and she had taken to many blows to her stomach, where both Kimiko and Kuraiichi had inflicted dangerous wounds to her body.
Kimiko mentally cursed herself for hurting Midoriichi like that during their first fight twenty years ago. She looked on as she drew closer, Midoriichi had begun her counter attack, catching Midoriko's fist, and hitting her across the chest before kicking her away.
Midoriko roared in frustration. She rushed up to Midoriichi and lashed out with her foot, but Midoriichi caught it. She returned the favor and punched Midoriko in her stomach hard. The younger woman writhed in pain as she held on to her stomach.
"You brought this on yourself Midoriko. Forgive me." She said as she raised her fist up and covered it in her demonic aura.
Midoriko wasn't done yet. She grabbed some dirt and threw it into Midoriichi's eyes blinding her. Midoriichi tried to get the dirt off but Midoriko didn't give her a chance kicking her mother in the gut. Midoriichi stumbled back, and dropped to her knees coughing hard. Midoriko smiled, she knew this fight was over.
Midoriichi took too many hits to her old battle wound. For her to continue would be suicide.
"No you brought this on yourself." Midoriko told her.
"No!" kimiko called out.
Midoriko stopped to see the red head slowly walk up to them.
"That's enough Midoriko. Ok, you've won, you've proven you're stronger. Please just stop this." Kimiko pleaded to her eldest.
"Sorry mother, I can't stop until I do what I came here to do." She responded.
"Midoriko, you wanted to beat the Tori, you did. You wanted to beat Midoriichi, you did. You wanted to prove yourself and you have." Kimiko told her. "You claimed that you wanted peace. This is not the way to go about it."
"Mother stay out of this." Midoriko told her, but Kimiko stood there in between the two.
"I can't sit back and watch you two beat the hell out of each other. You two were so close, this isn't how mother and daughter should act. This isn't how I pictured our family." Kimiko said.
"Stop living in the past. That dream of us being this happy family died, when Midoriichi drove me from my home." She said hatred burning in her eyes.
Kimiko saw it then, Midoriko's hurt, the pain of feeling betrayed. Moniku saw it before they did, and nurtured the feeling. She let it grow, manipulated her daughter and then set her against them.
"Midoriko." Kimiko said softly. "I'm sorry Midoriko, so sorry. I've failed you as a mother. I saw the signs, I saw the strife and I ignored them. I thought it was a rebellious phase you were going through, I thought you would get over it. I thought you two would work things out, I couldn't have been anymore blind."
Midoriko smiled a bit. "It's too late for apologies, as you can see we are way past that point." Midoriko told her, as she took a step closer to Midoriichi.
"Wait Midoriko." Kimiko told her.
Midoriko growled. "Move!" She said pushing Kimiko back with her demonic aura. "It's like you said, you weren't there, so I don't expect you to know. Every attempt I made at bettering myself ended in ridicule. I was scolded for advancing and growing stronger. She was scared of me, scared of what I'd become, scared that I would grow stronger than her. She wanted me to stay weak."
Kimiko was about to protest, but Midoriichi interrupted her. "Don't waste your breath Kimiko." Midoriichi told her. "Midoriko is right after all, I was scared. Scared of what you would become if you couldn't control your power. I wanted you to be stronger than me, it meant that I did my job as your mother. Instead before I could even make an attempt to help you, you ran away like a little bitch." Midoriichi told her.
Angered Midoriko rushed her, and hit Midoriichi twice in the face. She went for a third, but Midoriichi caught her fist, and head butted her. Putting everything she had into her fist, she punched Midoriko in the jaw and knocked her to the ground.
"Don't kill her Midoriichi, I can't stand to see anyone else die." She said.
Midoriko sat up rubbing her jaw. She smiled at the sight of seeing her mother drop back to her knee. Midoriichi exhausted most of her strength, and she was bleeding internally from her stomach wound. Midoriichi tried to stand but dropped back down.
At this time Ron hit the ground his giant sword landing next to him.
"Midoriko I thought you would have handled this by now. Perhaps they are too much for you." Moniku said walking over.
"Not even." Midoriko replied.
Kimiko looked over and seen that Ron was out of the fight. She silently thanked him for his efforts.
"My, my Midoriichi it looks like you've played your final card." Moniku chuckled. "Well any last words?" she asked.
"Yeah, fuck you." She said to the ebony skinned demon.
Moniku laughed as she walked past Midoriko advancing on Midoriichi. Kimiko quickly put herself between Midoriichi and the dog demon, holding up her bow at her.
Moniku just merely smiled at her display. "Come now Kimiko, we both know there isn't a thing you can do. You have no arrows left to shoot me with, and barely any energy. I'm willing to bet that you're using that very energy to stand before me, aren't you?"
Kimiko's hands began to tremble as Moniku called her bluff.
"Well if you want to be the first soul I offer to hell, then I wont stand in your way." She said.
Midoriko then stood in Moniku's way.
"Midoriko? Come to say goodbye? Or knowing you, you want the final blow?" She assumed.
Midoriko looked at her mothers, both tired and exhausted, she knew it would be a simple matter to dispose of them.
"You've won Midoriko. What now?" Kimiko asked her.
"What a stupid question. Midoriko kill them." Moniku ordered.
Midoriko just stood there as she stared them down. Moniku called out to Midoriko once more and the young demon finally answered.
"We've won. I defeated Midoriichi, I've humiliated her and she knows it. Killing her would ruin that. Midoriichi I want you to live with the shame, knowing that there is someone out there greater than you." She told her.
Moniku scoffed. "Midoriko what are you doing?"
"Moniku, it's clear that I could kill them at any time, I pleased is it not? I've decided not destroy them."
"That is not your call to make. The plan calls for the eradication of the Neko and Tori leaders, neither of which are dead." Moniku said.
"Then go kill Josei, but the Tori are mine to do with as I please." Midoriko shot back.
"Have you forgotten what they've done to me? What they've taken from me?" Moniku asked her apprentice.
"No I have not, but those times are gone. Besides Komori needs healing, are you willing to sacrifice her?" She asked Moniku.
"You heard her, she doesn't have much time. She wants to spend it watching my enemies lay at my feet." Moniku answered.
Midoriko said nothing, as her gave shifted from Moniku back to her parents. Kimiko knew what Midoriko was doing, and so did Moniku.
"Midoriko are you having a change of heart? I thought you steeled yourself to my cause?" She asked.
"I…I am." She admitted. "I started to question my actions when I saw those Neko women in action. It seemed so easy for them you know, but I can't keep pretending that the deaths of my uncle and grandmother don't completely affect me." Midoriko told her.
"Midoriko, they wanted to seal your powers away, give your life no purpose, no meaning." Moniku argued.
"Yes, that was my grandmother's idea, and my mother was going to go through with it and I hate them for it. But Kimiko and my sister have always supported me." She said. "The plan called for me to kill Midoriichi, and I knew I could do it, and I was willing to do it. Then I saw Josei fighting her daughters. I want to bring peace, I want to be strong and lead others, but I don't want to be like them." Midoriko said as she clenched her fists.
"You can't kill Midoriichi is that what you're saying?" Moniku asked her.
"If I move to kill her, then mother will step in the way. The only way to kill Midoriichi is to kill her." Midoriko replied.
"What are you trying to say?" She asked the younger demon.
"Remember what you told me what it felt like being forced to fight and kill your family members? Well I faced my family, and I felt nothing as I beat them down. Then Hekuta died, and it stung, watching Bo'A do what she did. Next came grandmother, it hurt more than with Hekuta. I told myself it wasn't me, I didn't do it, that I'm not responsible." She said.
"I was right, I didn't kill them and my plan didn't call for their deaths, but my actions and my partaking in all of this did. Still I moved past it, and finished my fight with Chisana-ichi, knocking her unconscious. Midoriichi was my final target, I would kill her and be done with, but as Kimiko stands before me I find myself conflicted."
"Just get it out Midoriko." Moniku said as she stared at the Tori demon.
"I don't want to feel the pain you've expressed to me that comes with killing one's parents. Please Moniku, don't make me kill my mother." She begged, a tear rolling down her cheek as she looked at Moniku.
Moniku's eyes widened a little. She hasn't seen Midoriko cry since the day she ran away five years ago. 'It looks like I didn't do a good job, with her than I thought. Still a lot better than I did with Kuraiichi.' She thought.
"Moniku, don't you see we've won. We could force them to step down, and bring about peace, like we've always planned. We could start the family you've always wanted." Midoriko pleaded.
"Midoriko, on the field of battle I am your superior first and your lover second." She told the demon.
"Moniku.." Midoriko said, but all she received was a slap across the face. Midoriko was stunned by this action and stared at Moniku.
"It has become clear to me, that you need help in seeing your revenge through." Moniku told her.
"My revenge? Moniku I'm starting to think this is more about you than it is about me." Midoriko said.
"You're right it is. The first thing you must realize about me is that I see my plans through, and plan calls for the death of both your mothers with or without you." Moniku growled.
"But that's not my plan!" Midoriko argued back.
Moniku slapped her harder this time. "Baka shojo (Stupid girl). What you planned does not matter to me. You've done more than enough, you've weakened Midoriichi. I can handle it from here."
"No! That's not going to bring about peace!" Midoriko yelled.
"Oh and your way was. If you had killed Midoriichi then it would have led to peace? Midoriko you have blood on your hands now. You will see our plan through." Moniku said to her.
"Moniku I'm not like you, I-I-I can't kill like you can. I can't kill those who don't deserve it." Midoriko said.
"Not yet you can't." Moniku said with a dark smile.
Midoriko looked at her with a bewildered expression and then she saw that the Hells mark on Moniku's left eye and right arm glow brightly. Suddenly Midoriko dropped to her knees as she grabbed the back of her neck. Midoriko screamed in pain as Moniku was adding her influence to the young demon.
"What's going on?" Midoriichi asked.
"Moniku is forcing her will onto Midoriko, it must be how she was getting her to attack us." Kimiko said.
"Kill Midoriko, remember your hatred and kill!" Moniku said as she forced more of her will onto Midoriko.
'Not if I can help it.' Kimiko said.
She rushed up to Midoriko as her demonic aura lashed out at the surrounding areas.
"Midoriko, it's ok I'm here. I'm not leaving you this time." Kimiko said. "Midoriko I'll help you through this."
Midoriko screamed out and as she did unleashed a massive amount of demonic aura, knocking back Midoriichi a couple of feet, and hitting Kimiko since she was right next to her. Kimiko cried out as the aura carried her back. Kimiko tried to raise herself up, but her arms struggled to do so.
Not too far away Chisana-ichi finally regained consciousness. She looked over to immediately see Midoriko's terrifying power going out of control, just like Komori said it would. She then noticed that her mothers were down and Midoriko was rising to her feet.
"No! I have to stop her!" Chisana-ichi said as she immediately flew down towards them.
On Midoriko's end all she could hear was Moniku telling her to kill. She slowly stood as her aura retracted and formed around her. She quickly then rushed over to Midoriichi, who attempted to rise and flee, but could not.
Kimiko made to her feet, stumbling as she tried to keep up with Midoriko. Chisana-ichi flew in from above, knowing she didn't have the time to stop Midoriko only intercept them. Midoriko was only focused on Midoriichi so she didn't see her mother and sister closing in from her sides.
Next thing Midoriko knew everything went black as she collided with something. Midoriko opened her eyes, after feeling a warm sensation covering her right hand. The smell of blood filled her nostrils. Her eyes widened as she quickly realized what had happened.
XX
POV
Blood pouring from her mouth, she was happy that she succeeded in stopping Midoriko, after all that is all that mattered. The wind picked up a bit blowing her hair as her green eyes met Midoriko's green eyes. She formed a smile.
"It's all that matters." She whispered.
She looked past Midoriko and saw that Moniku was smiling, it may not be who she intended it to be for, but it was a death nonetheless, and she was proud.
"M-M-Midor-iko." She said calling out to the girl.
Scene, I hope you enjoyed this nice long chapter, I intended for it to end with a tear jerker kind of like how Raptorhunter18 does it, but I stuck with my strength of cliffhangers, so I'm going to leave you to guess on who just sacrificed themselves, the first person to guess right will be mentioned in the authors note of the next chapter and get a picture of drawn to their specifications. If that's what you want.
Also I wanted to know if you guys would like a prequel to the series, It would be telling the stories of Rida, Akai, Kuraiichi and Josei, and how they shaped their clans, leading up to the war of the Tori and Neko. Let me know in the comments and have a nice day everybody!
