Read on!

Constellations gleamed in pale reflecting light upon the most deceitful of waters. Aided by the deprived light of day. The surface which housed one of natures greatest oddities looked only to be gentle waves rippling in to each other then once collided, reflexively surging backwards only to ripple back out again repeating such a process infinitely.

Had there been a more luminous light, the truth; so well hidden in the dark would of been shown. Fact of the titanic power that these vary waters wielded and demonstrated day by day could have been seen by naked eye. Alas such a thing was covered.

The rippling on surface body of water without due light continued to be a stark contrast to its hidden below form.

Abruptly causing new ripples not made from the oddities. A triplet of rippling outward circles appeared upon the water. Fanning outward successfully resisting the natural power of the waves they were a warning before three beings touched down.

Standing atop the liquid surface, feet planted firmly as if on a solid ground they seemed unfazed by such a feat.

Each adorned in hooded cloaks that mimicked the deepest pitch of darkness. Near invisibility clearly favored them.

Slowly one of the phantoms broke from the triangular formation they stood in. Walking cautiously the lone being's head was facing downward as if measuring the waters under their feet. Stopping they then crouched down to place a hand upon the cold water.

Seconds of silence accompanied by the sound of crashing waves passed.

Standing back up, doing what could be only interpreted as a nod because of the subtle dips in the beings hood the figure turned to their counterparts.

"Well?. . . sir" coaxed the figure affixed to the left, tone assertively female.

Taking off the dark hood the figure exposed what was a white mask covering their face. It was blank except for the very thin eye slits, what looked to possibly be a row of wavy lines on the forehead of the white surface was obscured by long black bangs.

"Nothing to it. We do as planned" replied the obvious male. As a afterthought the male phantom added "These whirlpools truly are living up to their legend"

Abruptly the masked man snapped his hand in to a seal, seconds later he cancelled the hand-sign "We also have company. . . Get to your tasks and be precise"

Nodding the pair took the statement as a confirmation they had arrived at their destination. And regarded the warning with caution.

"Alright then until we meet again sir" assured the woman then looked to her silent teammate.

At once the pair sunk in to the cold water then disappeared, leaving no trace as to ever being there.

The unescorted man had no time to think of his departed comrades as all attention was immediately directed to the figure walking towards him at a leisurely yet decisive pace.

In the low light, only sharp eyes could make out the form moving in darkness.

'To be able to detect me this early on. . . Uzushiogakure must have adapted very well. But to send just one ninja to combat a problem, how fool-hearty. Even if it is one of them' Analyzing the strolling ninja in the moon-light the man began to formulate.

Stopping but a few yards from the black cloaked being. The haori adorned warrior in one motion removed their arm from the clothing signifying their position and status to lay a hand upon a hilt nestled on their waist.

Now in plain view the cloaked man saw his tracker was clearly female if her red pony-tailed hair, and slim feminine build hidden behind the over-sized garb was anything to go on. His previous reasoning of her belonging to Whirlpool was also confirmed, foam patterned mask and haori proving such.

"You are trespassing on Whirlpool land. That is a slight I can not let go. Intruder! turn back" the female warned. Letting her ominous presence weigh on the mind of her semi-enemy.

Watching every action or the lack there of the woman was making he replied "Tell me, does Whirlpool protocol always dictate a one person party to guard your borders or is this something unusual?"

Shirking off her garment to reveal a form adorned in a bodysuit protected with segmented steel plates. She unsheathed her sword fluidly. "I have already warned you. Leave now or else."

Having made his decision very long ago. It was pure delayed thought that made the black gloved hands rise in front of a wide chest then blur in to a motion of fluxing seals one after the other.

"I see" she said with expected ire. Awaiting what ever her identified enemy was to do.

Breathing in as his hands landed on the dog seal. A distorted pocket of air appeared before the white mask before spiraling then launched outward with a sharp exhale.

Sidestepping the speeding cannonball of air. The kunoichi drew her sword and spoke "DaiSui! From the depths explode on to the land, a great wave to wash away everything!"

Speedily blurring through seals and having taken to running a full wide circle around the woman. The masked intruder groaned at knowing what he had just heard was nothing short of a incantation.

The veiled power exposed, a change surrounded the woman's sword in a blue ethereal essence of chakra. What was previously a unremarkable katana extended becoming curved and dramatically longer transforming in to a odachi sporting a thin blue blade taller then the woman.

Effortlessly the kunoichi held her incredibly long sword defensively in front of her while pivoting to keep watch on the intruder.

Increasing his speed while running clockwise around the zanpaktou user, it was seeing the transformed weapon that made him send his latest jutsu to the kunoichi before stopping movement then running away to the direction of Whirlpool.

"You will not escape- Wha-?" gasped the kunoichi not understanding the reason she was unable to move.

Helpless she watched the fleeing back of the distance gaining intruder.

"What is this!?" she struggled trying to move a arm or leg but seeing it was futile. Scanning around she smirked after seeing the black tomes floating almost undetectable upon the waters surface.

"You're daft for trying to trap a Whirlpool ninja with SEALS!" she shouted.

Rolling her hidden eyes in disgust the Uzumaki cut all chakra to her feet. Instantly she broke the surface of water and took a deep breath before falling deep in to the depths.

It was many feet later of sinking that the effective range the floating seals had, lost their ability.

Free from paralysis the woman flipped her body then concentrated a controlled amount of chakra to her legs. A few simple kicks sent her rocketing above the waters line and upon its surface.

Crouching the woman braced herself and whipped her sword out upon the water causing a wave with a clean swipe "Great-Water; Tsunami Summon!"

Rolling in a unflinching ripple caused from the odachi a steady swell built on the ocean, inhaling all waves to join the rising upheaval of water. In moments a momentum had built causing a air-borne effect to engulf the once rogue wave making it rise further and further in to the air.

Seeing her construct taken life the kunoichi eagerly ran to catch up with the growing behemoth till she was upon its rising lip.

'There he is!' she mentally celebrated seeing the running man had gotten far but the wave she was on traveled much faster then his feet.

Skirting on the water like a propelled boat the man knew he was making great timing. Yet was not blind to the feeling of the gravitational pull the wave behind him was having on all liquid.

Stopping in a split second he cast a single seal and lifted his head high to aim at the growing tsunami. A simple distorted blade of air escaped his covered mouth and headed towards the kunoichi.

Instinctively the Uzumaki lifted her sword to defend against the air blade.

It proved a mistake as the air blade expanded becoming a massive crescent of wind that pushed the odachi wielding woman, and wave fully back. Sending her crashing backwards and water jutsu destroyed.

Pushed under the force of the air jutsu the woman held her sword grudgingly against its power. Shocked by how it still remained at full strength even though it had destroyed her tsunami and now sent her under-water. She had no choice but to hope her next jutsu worked.

'Great-Water; Depth Charge!' she commanded mentally still pressing her blade against the rocketing air blade.

Abruptly the odachi trembled sending the water around it vibrating before a great pulse exploded from the sword pushing the air blade backwards and to the sky out of the ocean.

The woman not a moment later too shot forth towards the surface landing heavily but not worse for wear. A slight surprise of seeing the intruder was waiting patiently greeted her.

"Alas you are still alive and not at the bottom of the sea. . . you Uzumaki always are like cock-roaches"

Panting a bit exerted the kunoichi glared at the commenter "Who are you?!"

Crossing his arms almost seeming rebuked by the question the masked nin shrugged "Would not me wearing a mask defeat the whole idea of being mysterious. Lets say you do find out who I am. It will change nothing. For now I am but man out-classing you. . . A Uzumaki in shikai mode."

Rising the Uzu-ninja shook her head "I see now I was right in confronting you alone. Your chakra signature as suppressed as it is, its foul. But you are still no match for me. . ."

A laugh from the man rang out in the night. It was a chilling admittance of being humored. That was quickly followed by a sudden sprint from the man who launched himself skirting across the water at the kunoichi.

Raising the shikai'd sword in defense was but a first action the Uzumaki took. Quickly after meeting the man's brash actions of attacking with but his hands she learned of the punishing blows he could deal.

Every clash of hand meeting blade was accompanied with a shower of sparks. Two objects both of varying strengths clashed unmercifully. The sword wielded with trained finesse was made to defend against open palm thrusts that pushed a blade meant to cut, back in submission as if it was a dull butter knife meeting stone.

The melee combat lasted but a few moments but to the female warrior it seemed a lifetime. Pressed to her physical limit she broke the exchange with a wide slash of the long sword and jumped back.

Seeing her tired state the intruder moved backwards while signing "Foolish girl. When you released yourself from the seals you should of never come after me. Learn a lesson in death as you should've in life"

Flipping her sword in to a reverse grip she argued "Don't underestimate me! Daisui! Infinite Water Style!"

"Not good enough!" yelled the man hands splayed in front of him not waiting to see the results the sword would bring. Shooting from the gloved palms two twin foot long blades of air raced forth.

The odachi angled, she blocked one of the blades then twisted the long blade to also block the other. Preparing she knew what was to come from the blades but had a plan.

As expected the small air blades expanded becoming 12 feet long arcs of air that tried to barrel forth through their target denied only by the strength of a woman and thin steel blade.

"Not this time" she murmured using all her might. From the hilt of her sword a film of freezing frost developed only to crawl up the blade soon layering upon itself before the blade erupted in a coating of ice.

Instantly the once powerful arcs were frozen falling to the water with deep thunks plunging to mighty depths.

"A Ice release. . . An not from a Yuki clansmen. . . Means nothing" exclaimed the intruder standing relaxed

Watching the man the Uzumaki grew ever more confused 'He's taking this so relxaed as if he is just observing me. Studying all I have to offer. His techniques are powerful but he never follows them up with another, what the hell! If he is trying to infiltrate he would keep tying me up or try to disable me like before. But now it is like his whole strategy has changed. Why?'

Lowering himself to the ocean the masked man placed a hand down.

Taking advantage the Uzumaki charged. Frozen ice blade held high to decapitate.

"Enough" commanded the man as if he was ordering a servant around. Standing back up he reached for his mask uncovering it from his face in but a quick grab.
