Chapter 18: The Fun Has Only Begun Part 2
Leina woke up bright and early that morning with the biggest smile on her face. With every person she passed she gave them a happy smile and asked how their day was. Once she reached the library she slowly crept inside to see Camelia sitting right at the front desk.
"You're back!" Camelia yelled in excitement as she ran to her working buddy to give her a big hug.
"I missed you too. So, how have things been going since I've been gone?" Leina asked with a sigh.
"The kids refuse to let anyone read to them other than you. They continued your daily routine amongst themselves while you were gone." Camelia said as she led Leina to the room.
"What do you mean?" Leina asked with a raised eyebrow and a grin.
"Take a look for yourself." Camelia said as she opened the door slightly to let Leina look inside as one of her group reading students sat in her chair reading to everyone in her place.
"They all take turns and read to each other every day." Camelia said with a smile.
"Isn't that Marcy?" Leina asked as she looked at the usually reserved girl read the book with great confidence.
"She's been practicing and now she can read without stuttering." Camelia said as she gave a little happy dance.
Leina quietly sneaked into the room and placed her things on the little desk near the door. When the other students noticed her she held her pointer finger up to her mouth telling them not to let Marcy know that she was there. They all had big smiles on their faces as she gently placed Marcy on her lap and gestured for her to continue reading as she created the images with her magic. As soon as they finished their reading session, they all gave Leina a big group hug before they went home. Leina made sure that everything in the room was straightened out before she left and headed home.
She looked up at the night sky in awe as the moon shined brightly. Not too far from where she was walking there stood two hidden figures in the shadows. Leina walked by them as she continued walking home. Once she reached her house she went inside and closed the door behind herself. She placed her things on the sofa with a sigh as she feel down on it in exhaustion.
"What is it now?" Leina asked as she felt a familiar presence in her home.
"You really are a cheeky brat." Ronen said with a toothy grin.
"I'm not cheeky, you're an unwanted guest." Leina said with a frown.
"Does that statement go for me as well, Leina?" Lord Cassias asked with an amused grin on his face as he materialized in front of Leina on the other sofa with Ronen standing behind him.
"No, of course not." Leina said with a forced smile.
"You haven't changed over the years, look at how beautiful you have become. You are no longer a small child, you have turned into a fine woman. You're mother and father would be very proud of you. However, you still have one of your parent's traits that I detest the most." Lord Cassias stated.
"So you've told me through the years." Leina said with a smirk.
"Then I'm sure you know why I'm here, don't you?" Lord Cassias asked.
"You want to ask me will I accommodate you and the others in taking over this human world. My answer will stay the same no matter how many times you ask me. I'm not about to turn this world upside down because this is not our world, it's theirs and only theirs." Leina said giving him the most serious look she could possibly give anyone.
"Leina, my dear you are making things very difficult for me." Lord Cassias stated through gritted teeth.
"I know that I am, and do you know why? It's because you're only interested in this world for the fact that you know my parents cherished this world as much as I do. Not only that, but you just want more power in your hands that you really can't control." Leina said as she glared at him.
"What makes you think that I can't control my power?" Lord Cassias asked as a dark aura surrounded his form.
"When you first became king of the demon world that was the last time anyone has ever been as happy as they were, after only a few months things went out of control. People were going missing, all of the mysterious deaths, issues that you were supposed to fix stayed unsolved, while you continued to roll around in riches with countless of others who were just like you. You lied to everyone to get into the spot you still sit in today and the only reason you're still there is because anyone who has judged your authority has been killed by your pets. You hate that you can't make a move without my word." Leina said coldly.
"Do you know what it's like being king?" Lord Cassias asked as he looked at Leina straight in the eyes.
"No, I don't. Don't get me wrong though, I know that it's not pretty at all. It's the worse job in the world, but it makes some of the biggest changes in the world that can affect everyone in it. I'm sorry, I know that you want to restore our world, but it just isn't right to do it here. There has to be somewhere else that we can go, something else that can be done." Leina said.
"THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THAT WE CAN DO, YOU WILL EITHER HELP US RESTORE THE DEMON WORLD HERE OR YOU WILL MOVE OUT OF WAY AND WATCH AS WE DO IT OURSELVES!" Lord Cassias yelled in rage as he glared at Leina.
"I'll do neither." Leina said flatly.
"Then I guess we'll have to force you to move." Lord Cassias suggested.
"I guess you will." Leina said with a smirk.
"Then this conversation is over." Lord Cassias said as he and Ronen disappeared.
"Good riddance." Leina said as she rose up from her sofa and headed up the stairs.
Now that was intense! What will happen to Leina? What is Lord Cassias really planning to do to get his hands on the human world? All of these questions will answered soon, until then have fun reading. See you guys later. XD
