Chapter 19: The Fun Has Only Begun Part 3

Leina had been sitting at her study desk the whole night thinking of a plan to get Cassias and the others off of her back. She had tried to sleep but her mind just kept replaying the memories she had wanted to rid herself of so badly. The last time she had seen her home most of it was in ruins and the rest was being rebuilt with Lord Cassias' followers as the new residents. If it wasn't for the sudden death of the last king and the disappearance of the kings' family, her world would have still remained as it had for many years to come. Leina did not want the human world to end up like the demon world.

As the memories of what her mother and father said played over in her mind she formed a plan of how she was going to rid the world of Cassias forever. All she needed to do was find where his heart was and once she pierced it everything would be over. Her father had told her that when a new king or queen is chosen they have to give up their hearts and place it somewhere where no one will find it, some kings and queens in the past have given their hearts to someone they know will not let any harm come to it. Leina's parents were very close to the previous king of the demon world, when they had found out about the king's wife having their first heir to the throne they were all very happy.

Unfortunately, the king had disturbing news for Leina's mother and father that made them all very wary of the things around them. The king had found out that someone had been targeting him and his family, and he had a hunch that his brother was behind it all. The king stated that his brother had always hated how he would be praised for his good deeds when they younger, while he would be scolded for acting as what he was, a demon. The king said that on many occasions his brother had done many cruel things to him just so he could get attention from their parents. In the end, his brother only made their parents want nothing to do with him.

When the king was announced to be next in line for the throne, his brother had done something that made their parents cut him off from everyone in the royal family. Although, once his parents had passed he brought his brother back in his rightful place in the family despite what his other relatives told him. After all of the years that had passed he had thought that his brother had changed, but he was starting to doubt it with how calm his brother was when the king had brought up the many incidents where he had been targeted. The king had made a special request that Leina's parents take his heir to a safer place if a situation should rise where his child is in danger. They both had agreed to aid the king.

A few months later the king grew very sick and he wasn't recovering. A week before his death his wife and child had gone missing. With everyone in the kingdom looking for them, Leina's parents kept their eyes on the king's brother. Sadly, her father wasn't able to tell her whether they had found the king's wife and child before he was killed, but her mother did tell her that Cassias was the king's brother's son. She warned her to be wary of him and to remember to improve her magic so she could defend herself against him in the future. For many years Leina improved her magic while she wasn't around Wilson and grew stronger.

Around the time she first had met Levy she had met Cassias for the first time. He had been following her around in his shadow form and she had asked him what he wanted from her. He had told her who he was and he had tried to bribe her that he was there to help her. He had even asked if she wanted to be his queen. Leina was smart enough to decline and when he had tried to force her to come with him she opened a portal to the demon world behind him and watched as it sucked him to the other side. From that day on Cassias had constantly tried to persuade her to trust him, but Leina never gave in which usually led to them getting violent with each other on rare occasions.

"I can't let him have his way." Leina said as she looked over at the picture of her mother and father on her desk.

~Demon World~

"How long will it take you all to get the plan ready and in action?" Lord Cassias asked the general.

"No longer than a few days, my lord." The general said as she kneeled before his king.

"I'll be waiting for your reports, don't disappoint me. This fight is the last option we have to reaching our goal, failure is not an option." Lord Cassias said as he gave the general a stern look.

"I understand, I promise that I will not fail you. If there are any setbacks I will have a plan for them all. We will gain control and we will prevail." The general said with confidence.

"Then I leave everything in your hands." Lord Cassias said with a small smile.
