3 years later
Shion walked to the gates of the village lazily, not in a hurry to get anywhere, and just enjoying the beautiful day. It had been three years, and Naruko was due back any day now. She couldn't wait for her best friend to get back, there was so much she had to tell her! Naruto and her were engaged now, he had asked her a few months back, and she had said yes. They had also both become better ninjas, Naruto studying under the Hokage and Shion under Tsunade, but Naruko had definitely gotten a lot stronger too. She had just been sent to get the check-ins for the say, and her team had come along.
That's right, she had a team now! She had been promoted to Chunin in the exams that Naruko just skipped the third round of, making her unable to become a Chunin at that point, and later, a Jounin, and a Jounin-sensei.
"Shion-sensei! Why are we going so slow!" the girl in her team, Tatsuya, was complaining. The girl had long brown hair that she always kept in a ponytail at the back of her head. She wore a yellow skirt and a bright blue tank top, not exactly practical for a ninja, but at least she wore her hair right for the job.
"Tatsuya, we're going slow because we should be enjoying the leisure day we have off of missions and training, it's a beautiful day, embrace it!" Shion said.
"Sensei, why aren't we training? Shouldn't we be getting as much practice as possible?" Hiroshi asked, one of two Hyuga twins that were on her team, always asking to train.
"Jeez! Can't you guys learn to enjoy a day off every once in awhile? Does my whole team just want to have some of those 'youthful' training sessions my friend Lee came up with?" Shion asked, getting an evil look in her eye.
Her team had certainly heard of the maniac's ways of training, and they did NOT want to go through that! "No sensei!" They all said.
"Good, that's what I like to hear." Shion said.
By The Gates
"Oh man, today is so boring! No one is even coming into the village!" Izumo complained.
"Wait a second, don't speak too soon, is that?" Kotetsu said, leaning forward in his seat. The two looked through the gates and saw some figures heading their way.
"Oh, I think it is!" Izumo said, both of them getting up and standing at the gates, waving to the oncoming figures.
"Who are they kaa-chan?" a little girl asked from atop Naruko's shoulders.
"They're Izumo and Kotetsu, two Chunin that guard the gates of the village." Naruko said.
"Oh, cool!" The little girl cheered.
"Naruko! Hashirama-sama! You're back!" They cheered.
"Yep!" Naruko said cheerfully, "We're back! It was fun, but I can't wait to see my loved ones again!"
"Well, go ahead, we don't want to hold you back." Izumo said, letting them go.
Naruko and her daughter and great grandfather walked down the street, before Naruko ran up one of the telephone poles and let her daughter look around.
"Wow! Kaa-chan, it's so pretty!" Her daughter said, amazed.
"Isn't it?" Naruko said, laughing. "I'm home!" Naruko yelled, while laughing, her daughter laughing too.
Hashirama smiled up at the scene. No one but him and of course, Naruko, knew she was pregnant when they left the village. She had gotten pregnant that one night with Gaara, and had given birth 9 months later to the 2 year old she held in her arms right now.
"I'm here for the check-in list." Shion said, reaching the stand.
"Oh, you'll never believe who we just saw." Kotetsu said, grinning.
Shion's eyes widened. "Don't tell me, was it?"
"Yep!" Izumo said.
Shion ran in the opposite direction, running to find her friend as fast as she could.
"Sensei!" her team yelled, grabbing the list before running after their sensei. They dodged through the streets, before seeing their sensei run into a restaurant and pull out a red-headed boy.
"Sensei!" Three kids yelled, going after their sensei.
"Ugh! Shion, where are you dragging me?" Gaara asked, trying to regain his balance.
"It's Naruko! She's back!" Shion said, with both genin teams finally catching up to them.
A Gaara's eyes widened, before he jumped up, landing so he could actually move himself. He then bolted down the street until he sensed her chakra signature, she was standing in the middle of the road, and he ran up to her.
"Naruko-chan!" Gaara said, turning the girl to face him. It was definitely Naruko. He kissed her hard on the mouth, and forced his tongue in her mouth, though she wasn't exactly showing any resistance.
"Hey! Let go of my kaa-chan!" He heard a little girl yell. He pulled away in annoyance, but his eyes widened when he looked down at the girl.
The little girl was the cutest kid he had ever seen. She had light blonde hair that was put up in pigtails that rested at the top of her head. But the most startling thing was her sea foam green eyes, his eyes. She had his face shape, while she had Naruko's eye shape. But he had Naruko's glare, he knew what her glare was like, since he thought it was so cute, and this little girl had gotten it down flat. There was no doubt in his mind, this little girl, was his daughter.
"She's mine, right?" Gaara asked Naruko, just to make sure.
"Yeah." Naruko said, putting a hand on his arm and looking him in the eye.
He smiled, but felt tears in his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me? I could have come out and helped you. I couldn't imagine raising a kid by myself."
"Because, I didn't want you to leave the village, you were making such great progress in your rankings and I didn't want to hinder that." Naruko said.
"Kaa-chan? Who is this guy?" The little girl asked.
Naruko knelt down next to her daughter. "Honey, this is your tou-chan."
"Tou-chan?" The girl whispered, turning to the red-head, who smiled warmly down at her. "Tou-chan!" she yelled, jumping up into his arms, him catching her. Gaara chuckled as his daughter snuggled into his neck. "Tou-chan! I finally get to meet you!"
"Honey, it's nice to meet you too." Gaara said, kissing his daughter on the forehead.
"Tou-chan! So, me, and kaa-chan, and you are gonna live together right? And we're gonna have fun! And eat together! And play together!" She cheered.
"Yep, so honey, what's your name?" He asked, putting her on his hip.
"Karura!" She said.
Gaara turned to Naruko and raised his eyebrows. "My kaa-san's name?"
"What? I liked it, plus, I thought it would be nice for her to have her grandma's name." Naruko said.
"Tou-chan! Let's go! I wanna see our house!" Karura whined, shaking her father's arm.
"Okay Karura-chan. You coming?" Gaara asked, turning to Naruko.
"Let's go, I can find everyone else later." Naruko said, holding Gaara's hand and walking with him.
They went back to Gaara's average apartment. It had a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Karura ran around, cheering happily as she looked at the apartment.
"Sorry it's not much, I thought we could pick out a new place together." Gaara said to Naruko.
She laughed. "It's fine, if you want, we can move into the Senju compound." Naruko said.
"That would be nice." Gaara said. "Speaking of Senjus, what last name did you give our daughter?"
"I gave her the last name Senju, since she will be one of the few Senjus, the council will make us take the name. But I put Sabaku first, after all, I'm going to take your name, and I figured she would want to too." Naruko said.
"Makes sense. Think she'll have the Mokuton?"
Naruko sighed. "Who knows? I just hope she ends up like me, getting to choose her husband. No, you know what? I'll beat up all of those councilmen, and I'm sure that Tou-chan will be happy to help me, if they ever try to force her into a marriage."
"Yeah, I'll make sure to help you too. I may not be the Hokage of the clan heir, but they threaten my daughter, then they are dead." Gaara said.
"Ne, why don't we go tell my kaa-san and tou-chan the news, and then I'll start moving some stuff into the Senju compound, while you get Karura stuff for her room. Just you and her?" Naruko said.
"You sure? You told me if you ever had kids, you would be a mama bear over them." Gaara said.
Naruko laughed. "Yeah, I am already, but it's fine if you're there."
"Karura-chan!" Gaara called to the apartment, and the little girl came skipping back.
"Yeah Tou-chan?"
"We're gonna go visit Ji-ji and Baa-chan, and then we're gonna go shopping for stuff for you." Gaara said.
"Okay! Let's go! I get to meet Ji-ji and Baa-chan!" She cheered, running outside with her parents following.
They shortly arrived at the Hokage office and entered the room for the Hokage to find a happy Tsunade and Jiraiya and one ticked off Shion.
Shion tapped her foot against the ground, glaring at Gaara. "So, I tell you Naruko-chan is back in town, and you repay me by WHISKING HER OFF AWAY FROM ME BEFORE I CAN EVEN SAY HI?!"
"Yeah, sorry about that." Gaara said.
Shion said. "Oh please! I can tell you aren't sorry! It's gonna take a lot more than tha-"
She was cut off as Naruko hugged her tightly, making the girl stop her ranting to hug her friend back.
"I missed you." Naruko said.
"I miss you too." Shion said.
They broke away from their hug and Naruko hugged her mom, who enveloped her happily. Naruko took in the fact that she was a tad taller than her mom now, and she smiled, closing her eyes as she just hugged the person she missed so dearly.
Tsunade had tears in her eyes as she hugged her daughter who she hadn't seen for several years. She missed her little girl so much!
When they broke their hug, Tsunade promptly punched Naruko in the head, making the girl fall to the ground as she gained a tick on her forehead and she ground her teeth.
Naruko flew up angrily and shook her fist in the air, a matching tick on her forehead and the same angry expression as her mother. "HEY! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" She yelled.
"THAT WAS FOR HAVING A GOD DAMN BABY WHILE YOU WERE GONE! DO I LOOK LIKE I'M OLD ENOUGH TO BE A GRANDMOTHER TO YOU?!" Tsunade yelled back.
"WELL I DIDN'T PLAN ON IT, JUST LIKE YOU DID WITH ME, BUT I LOVE HER! AND DO I LOOK LIKE I'M OLD ENOUGH TO BE A MOTHER!?" Naruko yelled.
"Hey hey, calm down! And I still haven't gotten my hug." Jiraiya said, trying to calm down the two women.
"WOULD YOU JUST STAY OUT OF THIS!" They both yelled, making Jiraiya promptly slink back behind his desk in fear.
"SO, WHEN DID YOU AND GAARA HAVE SEX HUH? AND WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" Tsunade yelled.
"DO YOU EXPECT ME TO TALK ABOUT MY SEX LIFE WITH YOU!?" Naruko accused.
"NO! AND I CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT! BESIDES, YOU'RE TO YOUNG TO BE HAVING BABIES! AND WHY DIDN'T YOU COME HOME WHEN YOU KNEW?!" Tsunade yelled.
"BECAUSE I HAD TO TRAIN! I COULDN'T JUST LEAVE MY TRAINING!" Naruko yelled.
"OH YES YOU COULD HAVE! AND ANOTHER THING! WHY DIDN'T YOU EVEN SEND A LETTER HOME WHILE YOU WERE GONE!?" Tsunade yelled.
"I WAS REALLY BUSY! PLUS I FORGOT, I MEAN, I HAD A CHILD TO RAISE!" Naruko yelled.
The two continued to shout at each other for the next hour and forty-five minutes, Shion pinching the bridge of her nose, Jiraiya sighing, and Gaara covering his child's ears as swears came into play. It was bad enough that they had already used the word sex before he covered her ears.
Once they calmed down and hugged it out, Jiraiya got his hug from Naruko and they looked expectantly at the little girl in front of them, both sitting on the floor in front of them.
"Hey sweety, what's your name?" Jiraiya asked.
"Karura, Karura Sabaku-Senju." She said, innocently blinking her sea foam green eyes that were the same shade as her father's.
"Karura?" Tsunade asked, looking up at Naruko. "Why Karura? I doubt you picked it because of the man-bird in the myth."
"It was my kaa-san's name." Gaara stated.
"Oh." Tsunade said, before looking at the little girl and deciding the name fit her.
"Hi Ji-ji, Baa-chan." Karura said, smiling brightly.
"Kaa-san, Tou-chan, I need to talk to you about something. Do you think Gaara and Karura-chan could leave so that he could get her some stuff?" Naruko asked.
"Sure." They said.
"Yay! Come on Tou-chan! Let's go shopping!" Karura cheered, taking her father's hand and leading him out the door. Gaara suddenly felt as if his wallet was going to become a lot lighter.
Naruko worked out the issues of which house she would get at the Senju compound and sent a messenger hawk to Gaara so he would know where to take the stuff that he bought Karura.
She then just talked to her parents about her training trip, all she went through, how raising Karura was, and everything. She then was told all that happened while she was gone, and she promptly left so she could see how her family was doing.
When she arrived at her house, she heard a ruckus coming from a room, and looked inside to see a room filled with princess dresses, toys, dolls, pillows and blankets, a cute little bed, a closet filled with, from what she could see, clothes that looked a lot like hers, and all sorts of small furniture.
She burst into laughter as she saw what her daughter and fiance were up to. They both sat at a small table with chairs, both dressed up as princesses and having tea.
Gaara turned to her and glared. "You will mention this to no one." He threatened.
Naruko still laughed hysterically and she knew, that even thought there would be many hardships and trials in the future, her and her family would make I through, smiling all the way.

So that's it guys! This is it! I hope you all enjoyed my story, but I'm sad to announce that there will not be a sequel to it. Honestly, I just can't think of a way to continue it, so... yeah.
However! You can all still enjoy all of my wonderful other fanfics! I have two other finished ones, and two ongoing ones! Well, unless you're reading this really far into the future, in which case, I have more.
Anyways! I would love it if you check those out! I feel myself growing as a writer, and I can honestly tell you that I expect my new story, A Few Minutes, to be my best yet! I actually didn't think it would turn out to be the way it is at all when I first got the idea for it, but I am so excited for how it is turning out! It's gonna be amazing! It's honestly, the only story, I've ever had a plot for, my other stories, I just wrote as I went, which is why, if you suggested something, you might have seen it turn up in one of the stories, because I'll look at a review and be like 'Hey, that's a good idea!' and write it into my story. But this one, oh ho ho, this one is gonna be awesome. So come on guys! Check out my other stories!
