Chapter 22: Chaos Part 2
In no time at all Leina reached Era, as Cassias continued to chant in front of the cannon that Mirajane had described. Right beside himself sat the coal black cannon that was at least four times his size. As soon as Cassias' eye caught a glimpse of Leina he smirked menacingly at her.
"Leina, where in the world did you go?" Warren asked over his telepathy magic.
"I'm in Era, he used those demons as decoys." Leina stated with hesitation as a single tear rolled down her cheek.
"What?!" Warren asked in fear.
"He did all that just to keep us from seeing what he was really up to. That bastard, I'll make him pay!" Leina growled in pure rage as a dark aura surrounded her form.
"Wait, Leina! If we act too recklessly everything we planned with be for nothing!" Warren warned.
"No, you don't get it. The fight is already over and we've lost this round, but we haven't lost the war yet. I was genuinely happy for the first time in years when I joined Fairy Tail. I was even able to spend time with Levy and see how much she's improved over the years. I'm sorry, but I can't let him have his way anymore. Goodbye." Leina sobbed as she cut off the connection with Warren.
"Have you finally let go of your pride and released your soul to my master." Ronin asked as he appeared next to Cassias.
"Yes, I'm willing to give him what he wants." Leina stated in defeat.
"I have to do whatever I can to get him to get rid of that weapon, then I'll finally get rid of him. I'm sorry guys, but I have no other options. I hope you don't think badly of me for being so cowardly." Leina thought.
"Good, but it's too late for that now. The cannon has long since been ready to cause mayhem on this world. So in other words, we don't need you anymore." Ronin explained as Cassias stopped chanting, then suddenly Ronin stabbed Leina through her chest, right where her beating heart lies.
"Such a shame, had you have done what I asked in the beginning I would've sparred your friends, but I have no use for a treacherous woman like you. Die like the filthy dog you are." Lord Cassias stated as he glared down at her as her powers deactivated and she slumped forward into Ronin's shoulder.
Leina chuckled darkly as she buried her face in Ronin's shoulder. Cassias and Ronin looked at her with serious faces as soon as her laughter ceased. "How typical of you, but I'm sorry to inform you that you just made a big mistake." Leina rasped as she appeared before Cassias and grabbed him by his collar while Ronin still had his hand lodged through her chest. "I knew you'd pull some shit like this is the first place, which is why I made sure that I had a little insurance." Leina continued as she smirked at him.
"Y-you? What did you do?" Lord Cassias asked in horror.
"I made sure that if I was killed you'd come right to hell with me. You've lost." Leina said as a bright light surrounded her body and spread to Ronin and Cassias' bodies.
"YOU BITCH! I WILL NOT LOOSE TO THE LIKES OF YOU, DO YOU HEAR ME? I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!" Lord Cassias yelled in rage as their bodies slowly crumbled to dust and great flash of light shined in the sky in the form of a luminescent phoenix.
"So this is what it feels like to finally be at peace. I'm finally at peace, and so are they." Leina stated as her soul descended to hell and her thoughts wandered to her friends at Fairy Tail.
"Your time hasn't ended yet." A voice of a man informed her.
"What?" Leina asked.
"A pure heart such as yours does not deserve such a sad fate, and you will not receive such a cruel fate. Now, follow the hearts of those who love you and live happily, Leina." The man stated as Leina's soul was pulled towards something.
Leina opened her eyes to see the sun shining brightly down on her a she lay down on the ground. She slowly sat up and noticed that she was in a field full of flowers. Suddenly, she heard her name being called by someone and when she looked back she saw everyone from the guild running towards her. As soon as Levy got within reach of her she pulled her into a big hug and cried.
"You don't have to fight alone, so please stop being so reckless." Levy told her as she gave her a soft smile when she released her.
"Okay, I promise." Leina cried as she smiled back at Levy and pulled her into another hug.
"Welcome back, Leina." Master Makarov stated as everyone else smiled happily at her.
"I love you guys so much." Leina told her guild mates.
"We love you too, Leina." Laxus said as he patted her on her head and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"Don't be getting the wrong idea, his type of love is different from ours." Gajeel stated as he glared at Leina.
"Let's go, we'll let you two be alone." Master Makarov stated as him and the others rushed off.
"Did I make you worry?" Leina asked as soon as it got back quiet.
"Of course, I saw the whole thing as soon as I got here. Before I knew it, you were gone." Laxus stated with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"I'm sorry." Leina apologized as she began to cry again.
"There's no need for you to cry anymore. You have everything that you fought for so you should be happy." Laxus said as he wiped away her tears.
"Not everything." Leina corrected him as she leaned in slowly and they kissed.
"When we get back you're gonna get it, you know that right?" Laxus warned her as she pressed her knee in-between his legs.
"Yep, and so are you." Leina said as she kissed him again.
Yay! I'm finally done with this story. I know that the ending might have seemed a bit rushed, but this was all that I could come up with while I was writing the chapter. I even wrote it twice and it still seemed to end on a note like this. Sorry, if it disappointed anyone. I hope you all liked it and I might make a sequel. I might make one, I'm not sure yet. Although, I do know that I will make a little epilogue for this story just to let you all know of Laxus' and Leina's relationship afterwards.
