A/N: At long last, an update! Sorry if Aomine's censored speech in this chapter seems really awkward and OOC… I'm not one to swear myself so I'd feel extremely weird writing Aomine's dialogues full of swearing.
Also, for those not too fond of AoKi and Shizaya, after this version is finished I will write an alternate ship-free version (that will pick up where the fifth chapter leaves off).
Disclaimer: I do not own Durarara! or Kuroko no Basuke

Bzzz! Bzzz! Bzzz!
"Ah, Ryo-chan's cell!" Izaya stopped typing on his laptop and turned to look back at Kise's cell phone, vibrating and unguarded on the couch.

After Izaya and Kise's rather exciting trip into Ikebukuro, the two headed back to Izaya's apartment. Kise wasn't sure exactly how safe it was to be hanging out by Izaya anymore, but Izaya's apartment was closer than Kise's house and Kise desperately desired a nice refreshing shower—he had so much dirt on him, he could sense a cloud of dust trailing him wherever he went.
Yeah, there was that… that and the fact that Izaya insisted that Kise wasn't allowed to leave his side until Kise treated him to a sample of his own life.
There was that too.

Izaya held Kise's phone in hand and eyed the caller ID—'Aominecchi! x3', it read, exclamation marks, smiley face, and all.
Izaya knew exactly who this 'Aominecchi' was, of course. Aomine Daiki, ex-power forward for Tekiou Middle School, current power forward for Touou Academy. Lazy, not the most intelligent. Fellow Generation of Miracles member with Kise, and from what Izaya knew, the two had been very close in their middle school years. And clearly they had kept in touch even as they parted ways to attend different high schools.
Interesting… Izaya's smirk grew. And Ryo-chan's still in the shower…
Izaya flipped open Kise's phone and pressed the button to receive the call.
"It's about time, aho! Hurry your stupid butt over here! No, wait. Where are you? I'll come and drag you over myself, you sorry excuse of a person!"
Aomine paused, clearly expecting a response. When none came, he growled, "Oi, Kise! Say something!"
"I'm sorry, Ryo-chan is taking a shower right now, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I popped into the bathroom and delivered a message," Izaya said suggestively.
"Don't you dare. And who the heck are you, anyway? Why do you have Kise's cell?"
"Ryo-chan is staying at my place, currently using my shower. Ehhh? Ryo-chan's never mentioned me? Why I'm his boyfriend, of course~"
A mirthless chuckle came from the other end of the receiver. "Ha, you think you're funny, do you? I'll ask you one more time: Who are you?"
"Ehh? I'm hurt, Mine-tan," Izaya said, nicknaming Aomine in spite of the fact that their first exchange ever happened just seconds ago. "Why ever would you think that I'd lie about my relationship with my dear Ryo-chan?"
"Simple: Because I'm his bo—"
"Izayacchi!" Kise's freshly showered form appeared at the top of the stairs. He hurried down the stairs, sprinting to where Izaya was seated on the couch. "What are you doing? Who are you talking to? What did they say? What do you know?!"
"That's Kise, isn't it?" Aomine snickered. "I could recognize that annoying, whiny voice from anywhere. Oi! Kise!" Aomine said, raising his voice in hopes that Kise would be able to hear even from a distance. Noticing this, Izaya turned the phone on speaker.
"Aominecchi? Why are you calling me now?" Kise asked, sitting next to Izaya on the couch.
Aomine paused before saying, "Are you actually stupid? Or are you just having too much fun with Thinks-He's-So-Funny-kun over here to get off your sorry behind and follow through on our plans?!"
"Ah! Aominecchi! I am so sorry! I completely forgot!"
"Obviously." You could practically hear Aomine roll his eyes. "Well, I think I can forgive you for forgetting. So! Are you coming or not?"
"Of course! I'll be right there! Please wait for me, Aominecchi!" The desperation was evident in Kise's voice.
"Gees, calm down, you always get so worked up," Aomine yawned into the receiver. "Not like I was going anywhere."
"Heh~" Izaya decided that he'd heard enough, and that now it was time to poke at this person so dear to Kise a little more. "Mine-tan said 'calm down', despite the fact that he brutally yelled at me earlier thinking I was Ryo-chan. 'Aho', 'sorry butt', and 'sorry excuse of a person' were some of your words exactly, if I remember correctly, ne?"
"Hey, Kise," Aomine basically spat through clenched teeth, "Kindly explain to me the nature of this parasite you seem to have picked up?"
"Aominecchi, you're too cruel," Kise muttered, cringing slightly. Then he sighed; he could perfectly visualize the impatient face Aomine was making, waiting for an explanation. "Izayacchi is—"
"'—Coming to hang out with us, so you can meet his perfection face to face when we get there!' is what you were going to say, ne, Ryo-chan?"
Aomine let out a loud groan. "Kise, he's kidding, right? Tell me he's kidding."
"Eheheh, well—" Kise began, rubbing the back of his neck.
"'—I made a promise with him, and I'm true to my word, so he's coming!' was your next line, ne, Ryo-chan?"
"…Don't you have a life or something?" came Aomine's retort, sounding extremely done with this.
"But didn't I tell you already, Mine-tan? Ryo-chan is my life~" Izaya mewed.
"Kise," Aomine warned, danger lining his voice.
"Kidding! He's kidding, ahaha," Kise chuckled uncomfortably. This is bad! Kise thought, wiping his sweaty palms on his shorts. This needs to end, now!
"Aominecchi, I'll be going now, so I'll see you!" Kise quickly hung up after that, not wanting Izaya to make things worse than they already were.
Sighing dramatically, Kise threw himself backwards, deeper into the couch cushions. He folded his arms over his face, groaning.
Izaya just grinned down at him. "We should be going now. Your boyfriend sounded reaaally impatient."
Kise shot up from his slouched position, shock gleaming in his widened gold eyes. "B-bb-boyfriend?! Who said anything about boyfriend?!"
Izaya smiled sweetly. "Your reaction, just now~" Watching Kise flop back against the couch, groaning and face-palming at his lack of subtlety, Izaya continued, saying, "And Mine-tan was going to tell me just before you got down here, too. Really, I'm very eager to meet this impressive gentleman that has managed to catch hold of your affections, Ryo-chan~"
Kise buried his face in the couch. A faint "Izayacchi, you're embarrassing." could be heard from the model's lifeless form.
"There, there, Ryo-chan," Izaya comforted, patting his back. "Don't worry, I'm good at keeping secrets."
An unintelligible noise escaped Kise.
"Neee Ryo-chan, that's enough moping. Do you really not trust me?" Izaya pouted cutely.
Kise, finally picking his face up off the couch, turned to look at Izaya. Kise sighed. "After getting to know you better, I'm starting to think I trust you more than I actually should."
"Hmm, smart boy~" Izaya said. "Say, Ryo-chan, where are we headed for this little date of yours?"
"A nearby beach," Kise answered casually, head resting on his folded arms. His eyes widened as he fully comprehended all the aspects of Izaya's question. "I-I mean, it's not a date!"
"Right, right," Izaya said almost patronizingly. "In that case, I'm going to grab some stuff before we go. I'll be back soon, so don't you worry!"
Kise nodded in silent understanding, staying in his spot sprawled across Izaya's couch.
When Kise heard Izaya make it all the way up the stairs and into his room, he sprung into action, rushing over to Izaya's desk where he was hoping he would find what he was looking for…
"Yatta! Izayacchi's phone!" Kise whispered to himself. Quickly, Kise opened up Izaya's contacts, scrolling through them. He slowed when he got to the 'S' section, and stopped when he found it: the contact fondly named, 'Shizu-chan'. Smiling, Kise sent the contact information to his own phone. He carefully got rid of all evidence of his deed, and set the phone back just as it had been.

"I told you already, Izayacchi, don't worry about it. It's fine, really!" Kise pleaded, weaving in and out of the aisles of a convenience store trying to get a hold of Izaya.
"Please, Ryo-chan, didn't your mother ever teach you to never show up to a gathering empty handed? And we're showing up late, on top of that. Honestly, Ryo-chan, I'm shocked—I thought you would have better manners than this~" Izaya chided, making his way to the frozen section.
Did your mother also teach you that it's polite to answer other people's phones for them while they're in the shower? Kise thought but knew better than to say.
Kise's phone vibrated in the pocket of his shorts then, quickly reminding him of his task at hand.
"Ne, Izayacchi, I'm going to use the restroom real quick!"
Izaya didn't even bother to glance at Kise from where he was meticulously scanning over the numerous brands and flavors of ice pops in the freezers. "Sure, sure," he answered dismissively.
Walking towards the single stall restroom at the back of the convenience store, he opened his cellphone to find a message from Aomine titled 'That Obnoxious Cocky Jerk' that read, 'You sure it'll be OK with that guy coming along? C'mon, just ditch him; I can move, just tell me where you wanna go.'
Kise couldn't help but roll his eyes at Aomine's bitter, hateful (and probably just a tad bit jealous) words as he stepped into the bathroom.
Ignoring the blue-haired male's message for the moment, Kise opened up a new one of his own, addressing it to a certain 'Shizu-chan'. (Kise decided he would have to change that contact name sometime later.) He typed out, 'This is Kise Ryouta from earlier today. Please come to this location if you really feel bad for what happened earlier,' and attached a screenshot of Google Maps that highlighted the route from Shizuo's home address (which Izaya had conveniently listed in Shizuo's contact information) to the beach where he and Izaya were to meet Aomine.
After that message had successfully been sent, Kise addressed a response to Aomine and quickly tapped out, 'Don't worry about that guy, he's bringing a friend of his own…'
It was remarkable how closely the smirk on Kise's face paralleled that of a certain ruby-eyed informant he had recently become acquainted with. Noticing this himself in the grimy restroom mirror, Kise quickly dropped the look, startled.
Man, Izayacchi really is affecting me, and in ways I'm not even aware of!... Am I really going to be okay by the end of all this?

A/N:
To suntan 140: I already messaged you, but I just wanted to say thanks again for your help in finding the perfect solution!
To Akatsuki Fatale: Haha I loooved writing that bit of the story! Glad you enjoyed it too!
To Sina Xiel: As of now, I'm not entirely sure if I'll have Kuroko join the party, but it's possible, and I'm strongly considering the appearance of all the Generation of Miracles in the non-ship version to come after this one. So, please stay tuned! :)
To EminaRukiax: Yay! Thanks for your approval!
To mrg6: Thank you for your kind words :) I hope you enjoyed the update!
To Reimei-Jennoir: Thank you for your kindness, as usual :) I'm glad you're welcoming of the Shizaya and AoKise! Also I hope I did a semi-decent job with the Izaya-Aomine introduction-esque scene x) And I ADORE Izaya/Akashi's and Shizuo/Midorima's VAs. Maybe I'll take up that hilarious suggestion when I write the alternate version, where the GoM will likely make an appearance. Aw, *huggles back* you're so sweet to me x3
To pixelfaeriee: Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
To Guest: I know I really take too long between updates, I'm so sorry for that! I'm glad you enjoyed the previous chapter, and I hope you liked this one too! As for the GoM, we'll just have to see, but I'm confident somehow or another they'll make an appearance :) Just maybe not in this version. Epilogue perhaps? Also creeper Shinra and seductive Izaya were super fun to write!
To Evamylee: I'm so glad you're in support of the ships! Also I would love to have Izaya and Akashi meet, I'm just not sure if I can fit it into the current plot. Like I said above, maybe the non-ship version? Maybe an epilogue? Thank you for being so enthusiastic about this piece :)
To siLent reAder in L.A: I'm really glad you happened across this fic :) Thank you for your awesome support; I really appreciate it!
Love you guys, as always, and thanks for sticking with this hopeless author :)
