Chapter 50: "Epilogue" of sorts.

Weeks and months passed, her pregnancy progressed, and her mother continued to live with her father. That was until Kagome took her own life, struggling between her memories and the ones Kyora wanted her to live, the commands he sent through her. They'd found her when it was too late, Tamako could do nothing but help lay her mothers body and spirit to rest.

She'd ensured her mothers body was cremated and put within an urn, an urn that Tamako would protect for the rest of her life, to ensure nobody would use her mother against them. It was a period of mourning, a period of uneasiness and unhappiness, especially for her father.

Her father was living through them, through his grandchildren, Sayuri and Koichi were InuYasha's life now it seemed. He spent more time at the den than anything else. And while Kouga had a problem with that, Tamako was perfectly fine with it, she loved having her father around.

Their life would always be a struggle. A struggle of demons trying to get their jewels, to get to their powers. Tamako would become a strong priestess. It was unheard of, such a strong priestess being a half demon.

Though her priestess training and work was put on hold while she was pregnant, carrying her third child. She'd wondered if it would be a boy, or be a girl. Or would she have multiples again? Wolf demons were notorious for having multiple pups.

And then the night came, the night where she would give birth to her third child.

"Never again." she'd promised throughout the agonizing labor. The labor did not fall on the night of her human weakness, no, she gave birth as a half demon. This birth was much easier because of it, too.

And she'd given birth to a healthy baby boy, a healthy demon baby, half wolf demon and half dog demon. Kohaku had no claim on the child, or on her.

Kohaku would leave the village after the birth of their son, Kouta. It pained him too much to be so close to her and yet not be able to have her. He would eventually settle down with a human woman in a village some miles away. He would have children who he would raise in the demon hunting craft.

Even he would fade into the distance as the world changed around them, modernized, humans becoming less and less afraid of demons, demons beginning to blend in with the humans. It was a peaceful coexistence at least seemingly.

Battles would break out every now and then. But then the humans would have priestesses like Tamako to protect them, demon hunters in disguise as the practice became something of stories. People would grow to not realize the threat around them, and people would begin discarding demons as something that were fairy tales.

If humans ever knew that the demons did exist, living amongst them, surely the calmness would not continue. The peace would be picked apart, destroyed.

A/N: Wa-la. I wasn't really going to end it here, but I thought it was time. 50 chapters is long, and Tamako and Kouga's adventures are NOT over. I'll post another chapter with the new continuation of this story.

I know this is a little short, but like I said I just felt that it was right to end it and continue within another story. Besides, I've already begun writing that one and I love it. I hope you guys love it too.

This has been quite an adventure. Single Father, InuYasha was my first real fanfic, and life got in the way, and the ending has been up in the air for a little over a year. Not even I knew where it would end, where it would take me. And I'm not sure where the next one will take me, either.

The adventure has only just begun. Thank you so, so much to my loyal readers, and I do hope you both understand and give the other story a try!
