Norway hadn't known for sure where Russia would be, but he had a good guess.

Well, actually, if he was being truthful with himself, he hadn't even known where he was going.

But the address "headstone under a tree near DC" seemed like a perfectly viable place to start. And that had panned out.

It seemed wrong, in some ways, to interrupt the other man. But…this could not wait.

"Russland, I…"

Russia looked up. "Privyet." His eyes looked tired and sad.

Norway took a deep breath. He knew how hard this would be for the Russian. "There is something that I must give you."

"Is it a new heart? Because that would be the only thing that would solve my problems."

"In a way, yes." He handed the bassinet over. "Alaska. She needs to be raised by someone who knows the territory."

Russia looked down. Norway turned away slightly, in order to avoid looking at Russia cry.

"I cannot thank you for this opportunity."

"There is no need. Not now, not ever. I expect you'll be at the next meeting?"

"Of course."

"See you there, then."
