I'm on it today! Three chapters in a row! I must be in a good mood.
CHAPTER 16
"Briarlight. Wake up. You're never this lazy when you come here."
Briarlight groaned. "What is it, Honeyfern?"
"Get up."
Briarlight stood up, glad to be able to use her legs again.
"How many cats know of the three prophecy?"
"What? Just me, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Dovewing."
"And my sister?"
"Does Cinderheart know?" Briarlight asked.
"Lionblaze told her. Now, how many know about the eight prophecy?"
"Just me and Jayfeather." Briarlight responded.
"That's a problem. Cinderheart, Hazeltail, and Dovewing deserve to know that their kits have powers. Hazeltail still needs to know about Jayfeather's powers."
"But-"
"Looks like we can count in another cat on knowing about both prophecies." Honeyfern hissed.
Briarlight followed her gaze. Their was a white paw sticking out from under a bush.
Briarlight knew who it was immediately.
"I'll deal with her," Briarlight growled.
She stalked to the bush. "Willowkit, you may have the power of the stars, but they aren't to be taken advantage of!"
Willowkit crawled out of the bush. "You can walk?"
"That's not what we're talking about right now. It is not right to trespass on other cat's dreams."
"But if I can do it, that makes it right."
Briarlight was losing patience for this kit. Hadn't Jayfeather taught Willowkit some manners?
"No, that does not make it right. You can cross the WindClan border. Does that make it right?"
"That's different."
"Not really." Briarlight growled. "Go back to your nest and don't ever let me catch you in my dreams again."
Willowkit didn't need to be told twice.
Briarlight walked back to Honeyfern. "Can we go to the Border of Respect?"
Honeyfern nodded. "It's this way."
Dawnpelt sat on StarClan's side, gazing deeper into the territory.
"Her time there is almost up." Honeyfern explained. "She's only gone into Dark territory once, and that was just to check it out. She came back quickly." Honeyfern wrinkled her nose. "I'm not surprised."
Dawnpelt curled into a ball and fell asleep.
"Not much she can really do at the border anyway," Honeyfern murmured. "It must be boring."
"When do cats have to prove their loyalty like this?" Briarlight asked.
"When they did too many bad things in life. If they're evil-hearted, they go straight to the Dark Forest."
"Is that what happened to Tigerstar?"
"Yes." Honeyfern shuddered. "Glad he's gone for good."
"And Mapleshade."
"Oh, yes. Mapleshade. We're lucky to have cats like Mistkit who are brave enough to fight, even when it looks as if they'll lose." Honeyfern remarked.
"Speaking of Mistkit, when can I tell her about the eight prophecy?" Briarlight asked. Keeping the secret from the young tabby had been harder lately.
"When she's ready."
...
And when will that be, Honeyfern?
Alright, enough updating for now.
Might update more tomorrow.
