Chapter 8

'Jordan', is the first thought which hits Eva's brain. 'Another friend who will see nothing but an old withered lady.'Aikka sends his servant away with the message that they will be following soon. 'Are you ready, princess?', the king asked. Eva nods silently en puts her frail hands on the wheels with the idea to start moving. Before she can actually put her hands down, Aikka starts pushing the wheelchair through the garden en hallways. She feels the eyes of the servants upon her and she is surprised it bothers her at this very moment. Perhaps it is because the King openly shows his affection to her by lowering himself to such a insignificant matter.

'Aikka', A deep voice rings over the open yard in front of the palace. 'It is good to see you again, my old friends.' A tall, strong looking man is standing on the cobblestones of the driveway and looks at the King directly. His eyes shine with a power that can only be gained over the decennia. 'We have some serious problems that are arising in the galaxy and we could use your help.' The two man soon are carried away in a quick conversation in Nourasian and Eva feels like a doll who need to be ignored. Does he even know that I'AM the old woman sitting here? The discussion they're having is getting more heated and even irritated. Eva doesn't understand a word from what is being said, but she can read off their faces and gestures that the two man aren't agreeing on probably a single thing. Their heated argument soon turns into shouting and before the old woman knows what's happening Jordan just disappears into thin air and Aikka storms of into the palace and god knows where. This leaves Eva sitting outside, into her wheelchair, all alone and of course the whole situation just gets worse when it starts pouring. With difficulty Eva manages to turn around her wheelchair en ride slowly up to the large front doors. These are locked. She tries again. No, they're really locked. She tries to call for help. Nobody answers and comes to her help. Frustrated she bangs again on the door, but it won't budge and nobody feels responsible for the old lady outside who is getting soaking wet. She rides back upon the front lawn in the hope that she can spot Aikka through the windows, but she doesn't see him. The only persons she does see are the two children of the King and they are grinning wickedly at the old lady.

Then, just before she reaches her breaking point and starts crying, she feels a stubbornness and strength in her mind and body which reminds her of the good old days. With all her might she turns around her wheelchair on the cobblestones and starts pushing herself towards the gates. As if the children are daring her to leave, they open the gates for her and smiles reassured. 'No prison for me anymore', she mutters confidently. Just when she starts moving again she is surprised by a black small animal who is waiting for her on the other side of the gate. It's Sadis. He meows loudly as if he wants to urge her to hurry up and get moving, then he jumps onto her lap and together they ride to freedom.
