Japan didn't entirely trust the situation. That's not to say he was going to openly object to it, more like follow along and find subtler ways of proving his point.
Honestly, he thought the deal Germany made with Russia was bad enough, but the way everyone seemed to openly trust America left him simply appalled. There was no telling what the newly made brunette had planned no matter how many phone calls and calendar appointments he made for Italy. And letting the nation have access to sensitive files just because he was too busy to do it himself? The dark-haired nation would simply sigh and hang his head. Something needed to be done and fast.
Among his many theories of what America was doing in the Axis, there was one suspicion that he returned to constantly to mull over: that he was somehow involved in the disappearance of Prussia.
To be fair, no one had really noticed the nation's absence right away. Austria had been the first to notice that there was less cake and coffee being left for him during his piano practice and each time he had simply shrugged and assumed he was spending time with Hungary. The female nation hadn't given it any thought either as she was busy attempting to help mend relations between Italy and Germany and figured Romano had stolen him away again to play dress up. And finally Romano guessed that with the current state of the war, Prussia would need to be kept close to home and would go back to bed with Spain rather than search. It wasn't until the three were together that the truth was realised.
And Germany was understandably worried about his brother, Japan could see it. Even with their past troubles the two had been close and without any information as to who had him and why, they could only speculate as to what had happened. But Japan wasn't willing to accept that, not if the newest member of the Axis was somehow involved. And that is how he came to find himself hidden in the ceiling of the Allies' meeting room.
At first he wasn't sure he could trust the information America had provided. If what he suspected was true, then everything America said should be regarded as a lie. If for some reason he had spoken the truth, the likeliness of the Allies moving the place they held meetings when they assumed it was compromised was fairly high.
Still he arrived very early and snuck in to wait patiently and quietly for anyone to enter, making a small hole made so he could see into the room. And much to his surprise, the Allies did make their appearance.
The first to enter was Canada and England in the midst of a heated argument with one another before they had even set foot through the doors. He didn't focus much on their conversation when trailing along behind them was Prussia. He narrowed his eyes as the cloak bearing albino slipped in before the door closed and kept a safe distance from the quarrelling duo. He checked over the other's body, looking for any signs of ill-treatment, but other than the uneasiness of being in the room with both nations being loud, he seemed to be well.
With a huff, England and Canada seemed to come to some sort of truce and began setting up the room for their meeting and Prussia came trotting forward with a smile to be handed several blank papers and something to draw with before promptly sitting on the floor beside the Canadian's chair and drawing pictures.
Russia arrived exactly on time, walking in and choosing a chair towards the back of the room where he pulled out a large book and began reading, mostly to ignore any other comments occurring between the others.
China was 15 minutes late, something that made the Japanese nation frown. He didn't offer any reason for his tardiness and sat beside England, giving a quick glance to Russia, Canada, and Prussia before sighing and sliding down in his seat. England raised an eyebrow at his actions to which he shook his head. "Whatever's going on…" he nodded towards the others, "It'll be us next…"
"Better make it sooner rather than later…" the Canadian grumbled as he organized a few of his papers, his comment inciting another round of arguing before the actual meeting began.
France made his appearance nearly an hour and half through the meeting, shuffling in and holding his head muttering something about a hangover and sliding into a chair. Both blondes in the room glared while Prussia waved to him, though he didn't seem to notice as he soon fell back asleep with the occasional snore.
Now with only three nations making any real plans it was becoming incredibly clear to Japan how much trouble the Allies were in. Canada had appointed himself leader, but his terrible plans made his brother's seem like master strategies and when England or China objected, he would get frustrated. Most of their meeting was spent arguing than actually getting anything accomplished and it didn't appear as though Japan's spying mission was going to be able to report much more than Prussia's current location. Still he was hopeful and continued to await the end of the meeting when he could sneak out and return home.
Or at least that had been the plan. Now nearing lunch, Japan shifted slightly having been hidden for quite a long time and with the subtle movement brought a large creaking sound. He froze, eyes wide as he glanced through the hole had made to the nations below him, now all looking up at the ceiling with curiosity. Holding as still as possible he waited for them all to return to their meeting though never got the chance when the ceiling gave out beneath him and he crashed through it right on the middle of their table.
AN: Surprise! An update! :3
