Chapter 5: Family

Nessie's POV

After I was done eating Carlisle set up a guest bedroom just for me. He even found me a pair of spare pajamas.

I didn't even realize how tired I was until I turned the light off. I thought about Jacob, mom, and dad. I knew that they must be worried sick about me right now and that they must be going out of their minds looking for me. I felt terrible for causing them this kind of pain. They certainly deserved much better then me. They certainly didn't deserve what I did to them today.

I didn't have time to think about that much longer as sleep quickly overcame me.

The morning sun shining through the window is what woke me up the next morning. I put on the same clothes that I had been wearing the day before.

I could smell breakfast cooking when I went downstairs. It smelled like a delicious omelette. It made my stomach growl menacingly.

"Good morning Nessie. How are you feeling today?" Carlisle asked.

"I'm feeling much better thanks to you Carlisle" I said. He just smiled at me.

"Why don't you have breakfast and afterwards we can contact your family and let them know where you are" he said.

"I'd love that very much" I said.

"Well I made eggs for you Nessie" I heard Esms say. "But if you don't like eggs I can make something else for you"

"No that's okay. I love eggs" I said.

"Well I hope you enjoy these" she said and handed me a plate.

I took a bite. They were delicious.

As I ate more of their kids appeared and I got to meet them.

Then Bella appeared. Much like last night she stared at me intensely. It was weird. I could tell that she was depressed. She just looked so sad. It was heartbreaking. I felt the strange need to go and hug her and try to make her feel better. It was sad to think that she lost a baby girl right after birth.

The bronze haired kid appeared again. He looked at me and the strangest expression crossed his face. He then practically forced Bella out of the room.

There was a loud crash in the living room followed by someone screaming "Where is she?!" I immediately recognized it as Jacob's voice.

"Jacob" I heard someone say.

"Stay here Bella. He's really angry right now and I don't want him losing control around you" I heard someone else say.

I got up and ran to the living room. The rest of the family blocked my path.

There was Jacob in human form surrounded by my father in wolf form as well as Seth, Leah, Embry, and Quil in their wolf forms. All of them were growling viciously at the Cullens for some reason.

I tried to get over there but I was blocked by Carlisle.

"Jacob!" I screamed happily.

The Cullens's moment of surprise was all I needed to get over to them.

I ran over to Jacob's awaiting arms. "Oh Jacob!"

"Thank god Ness"he said as he pressed his lips to my forehead.

"You all better stay away from her!" Jacob said menacingly.

"Jacob they helped me" I said.

"Nessie they are vampires" he said.

Vampires? But how? I mean they're good people! They've done nothing but help me and show me kindness. Maybe they're good vampires? Is there such thing as good vampires? I didn't have much time to think about that because then Bella started walking over here.

"Jacob" she said in shock as if she couldn't believe that she was really seeing him.

"Bella stop. Don't you dare come near us. You made your choice when you chose to become a damned bloodsucker to live an eternal life with Edward" Jacob sneered.

"You have no idea what I've been through" she whimpered and bit her lip.

"How do you know Nessie Jacob?" Carlisle asked.

"I imprinted on her when I found her in the woods near Forks" he said.

"You found her?" Carlisle asked.

"Yes, I found her exactly 15 years ago yesterday. She had been abandoned in the woods and left to die. She was so weak from hypothermia and starvation that it's a miracle she even lived" Jacob said.

Edward started to look very uncomfortable and nervous for some reason. Meanwhile Bella stared at me more intensely then ever.

"You said this happened near Forks?" Carlisle asked.

"Yes. Once she was healed she was sent to an orphanage in Seattle and then lived a hellish life for the next six years. One girl used to torture her and another girl used to force her to steal drugs"

Did Jake really have to tell them my whole story? It was so embarassing.

"Bella why don't we go hunting?" Edward asked desperately as he pulled on Bella's arm.

She ignored him and pulled her arm away from him.

She looked right into my eyes and then gasped. "It's you" she said happily. "Oh my god. My baby, it's really you" she sounded like she was about to cry.

"What are you talking about Bella?" Carlisle asked.

"Carlisle look at her!" Bella said excitedly "Look at her and who do you see"

"That's impossible" Carlisle said.

"Bella it's that time of the year. I think-"

"Shut up Edward! I'm not crazy! She has my eyes, your hair, and your face! How can you not see it?!"

"What's going on?" I asked.

Bella took a step towards me and I took a step back.

"Nessie, we're your real family. I'm your mother" she said.

I felt the color drain from my face.

"How?" I heard Jacob ask.

"I conceived her with Edward while I was still human, but Edward told me that she died"

Her eyes suddenly snapped to Edward. Edward looked really scared now.

"You said she died!" Bella screamed at him.

"She was a monster. She nearly killed you! I had to get rid of her! So while you were changing I took her and left her in the woods that way the pack would find her. I was hoping they'd smell the little bit of vampire in her and kill her themselves and save me a job" Edward shouted.

"You dumped her!" Rosalie snarled.

"I had to!" Edward shouted.

"No you didn't!" Carlisle screamed. It must've been rare for him to get upset like this because everyone looked at him in shock.

"How could you Edward? She was just a little baby" Esme said.

"She was killing my wife!"

"She was our baby Edward! Your own daughter!" Bella screamed before going for his throat.
