So its been a year since this has been updated. I'm so sorry for those who alerted this but hey it made you happy to see an update in your email right?
I will try my best to finish this story. I am still debating whether Johnny lives or dies though. Have to say though I don't know if anyone noticed it but last chapter Chris Evans just carried himself. (Get it? He plays both Steve and Johnny)
Johnny closed his eyes as he hugged Steve's neck. He was so grateful he managed to crash onto Tony Starks roof. Iron man was a genius man and Johnny prayed he'd find a cure.
Steve cradled the younger man tightly but gently as he carried him inside and to Tony's lab.
Bruce set up a makeshift bed on a table and Steve gently laid Johnny down onto it.
"You two start doing whatever you can and I'll call Johnny's family. I am sure his team is worried sick by now"
"Tell…Sue….I'm…sorry" Johnny gasped out. Steve gave a curt nod. "Of course son, I am sure you didn't mean to worry your sister" he answers and Tony hands him a paper.
Johnny then hands him a phone from his pocket. "Call her on…my…phone…she'll answer" he stammers.
Steve quickly takes the phone then gently strokes Johnny's hot and sweaty forehead. "Okay son, just relax now and focus on breathing, you're going to be all right, the avengers are here" he says soothingly.
Johnny gives a nod but still seems very tense. Bruce reaches out and takes Johnny's hand.
"Relax Johnny, we won't hurt you" he whispers and Johnny nods again and starts to calm down.
Steve leaves the room and finds Sue's name on Johnny's phone. He dials it and after three rings a woman answers.
"Johnny! Where the heck did you go? Do you have any idea how worried I am about you?"
Steve pulls the phone away with a wince. "Please don't scream ma'am, I am not your brother but he is in good hands here" he says when she finishes.
"Who are you?" Sue asks. Her voice is softer but the tone is wary. "My name is Steve Rogers and your brother just crashed onto my teammate Tony Starks roof" Steve explained.
"Steve Rogers? As in the great Captain America?" she asks. Steve blushes and nods. "Yes Ma'am, I am Captain America, it's an honor to be able to help your brother"
"Hello Steve. My name is Reed Richards and I just want to say thanks for taking in Johnny. He was hit by some kind of alien goo on our last mission and the poison is killing him. I haven't been able to find a cure so Johnny blew me off and flew away, I am just glad you were able to catch him and bring him inside" Reed said into the phone as he took it from Sue.
"So am I Mr. Richards. Tony and Bruce Banner are working on him now but you're welcome to join in" Steve answers.
"We'll be there soon" Reed answers and they disconnect. A half hour later Steve meets them at the front door.
Sue has tears flowing off her cheeks when she sees her brother. He weakly holds out a hand and she takes it.
"Sorry Sue…I…I had…Reed…he…he said…" he stammers and Sue gently covers his mouth with her friend.
"Forget it Johnny. The important thing is you're still alive and actually managed to crash onto a second genius's home"
"Excuse me? Lady I am smartest man in the room" Tony says and gives him a smile.
"Of course Mr. Stark. Thanks for helping me save my brother"
Tony only shrugs. "I'm only doing it because its fun to prove I'm smarter than everyone" he says.
"Don't listen to him, he's still learning how to be friends with his team mates" Bruce whispers and Sue gives a small chuckle.
"Don't worry, I live with Johnny, you can't get more immature than him" she says and then sobers.
"You have to save him Bruce, I can't lose my baby brother" she adds and he gives a nod.
"I think we should leave the three geniuses, from the looks of this poison your brother doesn't have much time left" a new voice says.
Its from the vents and just then the vent opens and a man drops. A woman follows suit.
"You must be Hawkeye and Black Widow" Sue says and both nod.
"Yeah, come on Storm, not much you can do for Johnny anyway so lets take a walk" Natasha offers.
Sue gives a reluctant nod and the two assassins lead her out. Clint walks away from them and Nat leads Sue to Pepper who is waiting in the kitchen with drinks.
"Hi, I'm Pepper Potts" she greets and Sue nods. "I know, you're the one woman in the world who actually likes dealing with Tony" she says and Pepper chuckles.
"Like you can talk Storm. You fell in love with a bigger geek who made you into a superhero" she says and Sue shrugs.
"Yeah" she agrees. "It didn't seem so bad before though. But now…" she says and trails off.
"He'll be fine, now that Tony is involved along with Bruce I am sure those three will save him"
"And if they don't?" Sue asks but the two women don't respond.
