"Elsa, listen. Jack Frost, this boy, he's not real."
"But Papa, I know he is!"
Young Elsa pointed to the air, and the king sighed.
"Then, if this Jack Frost is real, I forbid you from ever seeing him again."
With that, the king left to do his duties, and Elsa turned around to face Jack, whose face was expressionless despite hearing the conversation.
"I'll always be here for you."
His eyes, so trusting, almost convinced her, but she knew she must always listen to her parents. Turning around, she uttered two words.
"I'm sorry."
Using the powers that have not developed yet, Elsa shut her eyes, and concentrated on banishing him.
"Elsa, no!"
The last thing she saw before she blacked out was Jack's face, and his blue eyes, wide in shock, fear, and betrayal.
A few years later…
It was the night before her coronation. Elsa tossed and turned in her bed, and then finally, she decided there was no point in sleeping. Sitting up, she recalled last night's dream. The only thing she could remember was someone's name. Jack Frost. Suddenly, she had a flashback, and Elsa felt sick to her stomach. Then, turning her head over to look at the moon, she could remember feeling a sense of protection and comfort when she was around Jack. Everyone was gone now, and she had these powers that she couldn't control. The only person who could help her was Jack, and now he was gone, too. Holding back tears, she whispered,
"I won't ever forget you, Jack Frost."
