Note, I'm skipping a lot of flavor text and background info, I figure if you're reading a fan fiction about a book, then chances are you've read the book and know, at least in part, that information.

I own none of the characters, not even the OC I made as she is part of the PJaO books and anyone is free to duplicate her for their own stories. Writing a story using characters from published books, I certainly can't complain if someone likes my idea enough to run it in a different direction, but please, no slash.

Rick Riordan and Patricia Briggs own all characters.

The gun on the cover image is what I based Terry's on. It's a real weapon that fires real shells, shotgun in the case of the gun in the picture. Terry's has more decoration, including an engraving of the Drakkon she killed on the handle (made of Drakkon Ivory) and Greek lettering spelling out "End of Infinity" along the barrel. It's also a lot more powerful, but then, most of the weapons used by demi-gods are.

Does anyone know what Auriele and Daryl's last name is? Or were I might look for it? Ditto for Felix.

Sorry for the delay in this chapter. I found out a little bit ago that I've developed an allergic reaction to the laundry soap I've been using the last several years. I've spent the last two weekends, and every night after work this past week over at my brother's house doing laundry, trying to wash the crap out of all my clothes, sheets, blankets, towels, everything. So writing wasn't high on my list of things to do. Sorry to my few fans.

Along comes Annabeth in a Baby Carriage

Mercy

I wake up with a start. Once again, Adam is sitting over me, watching me as I sleep. "Something wrong?" I ask looking at his frown.

"Do you need to see a doctor? You've been acting out of it since you rescued the kids."

"I don't think so, I'm pretty sure I just need sleep and food."

"Well, foods been ready a while, they were waiting till the interview was over before they started, so you might want to hurry before it's all gone." At that, I get up and start to pull my clothes on. "By the way, I asked Hestia about what happened to you, and she said pretty much the same thing you just did. And Mike is evidently a mystically empowered healer of some sort, he suggested meat, pancakes, chocolate and orange juice, or better yet, according to him, chocolate covered oranges. And extra vitamins."

"I'll settle for some red meat, and I'm pretty sure we still have some pancake mix. We can cook that over an open fire using bacon grease. Hmm, bacon wrapped in pancakes with a can of Mandarin Oranges and chocolate bars for dinner, that does sound good."

"Well, except for the chocolate, everything on your list there is going to be served. Zack, Ben and Mike actually seem to be descent cooks, even if they're not professional quality. Hestia on the other hand, has quickly shown herself to be a past master of cooking over an open fire, much to Christy's displeasure." He has a weird smirk at that. "Your concern over how she would be received yesterday has largely been shown to be misplaced. Hestia is NOT going to let anyone forget how Christy abandoned me and Jesse. I did have a short talk with Hestia about things; she agreed not to antagonize her relentlessly like she was, but to save for when Christy overstepped her place. I don't want Christy to be able turn to many of the pack to her side. Something I'd worried about."

"Well then, shall we go down and see to filling my belly?"

"Oh, I think that I can fill your belly just fine right here."

"With food dear, with food. Though to be honest, as much as I'm dislike public sex, going at on the kitchen table might do a really good job of reminding the pack who is mated to who."

"And cause the child welfare ladies to have an epileptic fit at the same time. They're still here and half fae or not, I'm pretty sure they would find that crossing of a line."

"Well, let's go make an appearance and eat."

At that we head downstairs and join the meal. Adam wasn't kidding about Hestia and cooking, she managed to make the pancakes into a tube filled with various things, including the bacon the grease came from. My favorite was the pancake tube filled with bacon, Mandarin oranges and a few other things I couldn't identify, but gave the mix a unique flavor. Annabeth also gave me some of their vitamins. Otherworldly vitamins, maybe even magical, she never said.

Mary Jo had been invited by Christy, but had been forced to decline due to the fact that she wasn't outed as a werewolf. Auriele had left already, her mate was at the doctor's, she was going to meet him there. And evidently, so were we, after the meal.

During the meal, we talked to the two child welfare ladies. They were polite, but let it be known in no uncertain terms, we'd be seeing more of them. They didn't seem too concerned over the health and welfare of the kids, I got the impression they thought the kids could take care of themselves just fine. No, their concern seemed to be about Jesse, and to a much lesser extent, Christy, the only two normal mortals in the house. A concern that isn't unwarranted mind you, after all, Jesse had been kidnapped before, and had several attempts on her life.

They made a suggestion that Jesse spend some time at another werewolf's house, at least until the current uproar ended. Christy, they admitted, would need to stay, after all, it was her some supernatural volcano was after, and the protection of the pack didn't amount to much if she wasn't actually protected. Of course, the protection wouldn't start until tomorrow anyway, Adam was working up a schedule for pack members to swing by and stand guard. This was made much more complicated by tourists and media driving by constantly, not to mention the ever present police, most of the pack wasn't outed yet, so care needed to be taken.

After the meal, Mss. Dounters and Ms. Macktiem take their leave, and we prepare to head to Sam's office. With some reluctance, we leave Ben in charge of Zack and Eric, and Jesse in overall control. Percy, Annabeth, Nico and Mike are coming with us. Fortunately, Ben has developed a healthy respect/fear for the kids, so even Terry and Rachel are unlikely to have problems from him. Hestia seems to scare the crap out of him, proving him wiser than I thought, while he's managed to form some sort of bound with Julius, don't ask me how, and he seems to dote on little Felix.

When we are leaving, Terry is showing Jesse how to fire her gun, it's acquired a silencer, something I can only assume is magical as I can see no way a fifty caliber machine gun can be made completely silent otherwise. Rachel is setting out clothes for Percy and Annabeth to go to Columbia's ball, Felix is teaching Hestia, Christy, Zack and Eric some ancient Egyptian game, and Ben and Julius are pacing around the outside of the house, doing a security sweep and getting to know the men from Hauptman Security, who are going out of their way to accommodate the pistol lessons.

On the drive to Sam's, Mike questions us nearly nonstop about the events of yesterday, and I end up telling them more about the other supernatural creatures in the area than I probably should have, especially the vampires, whom Mike takes an equal dislike to Nico's. I'll have to remember to warn Stefan before that comes to a head.

We pulled into the parking lot, which still had a bunch of Cars, and walked inside. The waiting room had several people I knew; Kyle and Warren, with Kyle leaning on Warren holding his head, Auriele and Daryl were there as well, there was a Girl I recognized as a half-fae, even if I couldn't remember her name, she was a nice kid. There was a woman there with her husband and daughter, both of whom were clutching the heads, another man who screamed government agent, not Cantrip though, I would have recognized him if that was the case. In addition to that, there was a young woman, her early twenties at a guess, clutching her head, but sitting close by was none other than Elizaveta Arkadyevna, the packs witch and a couple of her family.

"Adamya, how good to see you at last."

"Elizaveta, to what do I owe the pleasure? One of yours?" Adam asked, nodding to the young lady.

"No, she was merely driving thru the other day on her way to Seattle to see her cousin when her car broke down. As a courtesy, she called me to let me know she was staying in town until her car was fixed. We wouldn't want an unfortunate event do to a simple misunderstanding. Yesterday morning, she collapsed. After we both determined that neither of us was taking action on the other, we decided to bring her to Dr. Cornick."

At that, Sam walked over to Adam and handed several sheets of film to him. Adam looked at them while the people who weren't part of the pack frowned. Adam just sighed and handed the film over to Annabeth, who was trembling with fear. After only a brief glance she dropped them and started cursing not so quietly. Percy and Nico just frowned, but Mike picked up the film and gave a start of surprise. "Well, I suppose congratulations are in order." Uh, what?

The woman with the two patients looked over; "What are you talking about? We haven't been told anything, and now the doctor is showing other people our files."

Before she can continue, Ariana puts her hand on her shoulder, and the woman calms. Sam just sighs; "I was waiting for them, because it was Mr. Hauptman who sent me the text to watch for this. Simply put, each of you was inside the blast radius of a magical event, and each one of you clutching their head has the brain power needed to fulfill the other half of the equation. Simply put, each of you has a child growing in your head."

I think I can safely say I'm not the only one staring at Sam right now. Adam does not seem surprised, neither do the kids. Mike seems curious, in a semi-professional healer sort of way, which is weird since he's only twelve, Nico and Percy just seemed resigned, but Annabeth is nearly in tears.

Sam continues; "Yesterday morning, there was, for lack of a better word, an event. Something that unleashed an incredible amount of magical power. Power that had a negative effect on the abilities of these kids. I'm not entirely sure of exactly what transpired, or how those abilities normally work, but young Annabeth here was apparently born in a similar manner, and the power surge that went through her sent a wave out. Everyone in a fifteen mile radius who had an IQ of over one eighty was effected."

Mike walks over the people seated and hands them their films. Sam doesn't seem too surprised by Mike; I can only assume that either Adam or Auriele told him. Everyone is looking around confused and speaking amongst themselves, mostly that Sam is a quack and they need a second opinion. If it was anyone else, I actually be siding with that, but I know Sam, he isn't a quack, and he isn't joking. Finally, Warren looks at Sam; "So what now? How is this going to work? This doesn't seem like normal child birthing procedures are going to cut it here." Warren is near hysterical about Kyle.

Sam was in the process of saying he didn't know when Mike pops out; "I do. The Apollo cabin teaches all of its members in how to birth children of Athena. The procedure is actually quite simple, though painful and quite bloody. Just remember, you WILL heal completely without scars, and quite fast as well. Those of you who have some sort of supernatural power, will find a lingering after effect, which will depend on your actual power type. As the powers here are somewhat different, I can't tell you what to expect. The humans amongst you will find minor benefits, which again, vary from person to person."

Elizaveta looks at Mike; "I felt the power surge spoken by Dr. Cornick, and I sense that you are not lying, but what of the children born? What happens to them?" I can't quite read Elizaveta, what is it she's thinking?

Percy looks at her; "They're demi-gods. Half-bloods as we called ourselves in our world. I've never known a half-blood to be born of a supernatural creature though, my father regularly fathers cyclops from nature spirits. You though, seem human. Where we come from, you're either a half-blood, an Egyptian Magician, or completely supernatural. Nothing else. Here, where humans can be turned into something else, those rules break down. At a guess, the babies will be half-bloods, and maybe whatever you are as well."

Daryl looks over, he seems to be doing the best of everyone about controlling his pain, being a werewolf does have some perks, but something tells me it's more of a case of constantly dealing with the pain of their transformations. "So how does this work? And how long till the babies are do?" he asks Mike.

"Now. Once the headaches started in earnest, they could have been born. Would you like to go first?" Daryl just nods, and Mike sits him down on the floor in front of him, and quicker than any normal human could have seen, Michal whips a bronze dagger across Daryl's forehead, spraying blood out several feet in front of him. Adam and Warren roar, jumping up to defend their packmate, but Auriele stops them. Slowly emerging from the cut on his head, is a baby. Mike reaches down and gently pulls the baby out. As soon as it's completely out, the cut seals over and starts to heal, becoming a faint scar in a manner of seconds. Mike hands the baby boy to Daryl and Auriele. "Normally, the healing isn't quite that fast, but the scar should be gone within a day. Who's next?"

Before anyone can answer, Sam looks at Daryl; "I need a name for the birth certificate. And just for the record, I'm listing Auriele as the mother, and you as the father. It seems simpler and less likely to be noticed by cantrip. That will apply to the rest of you as well. It's vitally important that CNTRP does not find out about this. They've already developed a reputation for kidnapping and imprisoning people who are low powered or young as a 'Threat' to society."

They name their child Brandon, after Bran, and he is a full werewolf, something that's going to make werewolves all over the world sit up and notice. Young Brandon, you've just become one of the most famous werewolves in the world. Even if only the supernatural side knows you.

Kyle names his girl Athena, and it's decided that she is the result of an experimental faze with a woman named Bethany Chase, who died in child birth, leaving her to her father.

The half-fae girl, Samantha names her son William, and she decides to say the father is an unknown.

The family, the Henderson's, name the children Michal and Taylor. It's decided that, having just got back from an extended vacation/business trip Europe, that they will pretend the mother was pregnant and gave birth the day after they got home. Since they haven't seen anyone yet, and all their friends know is that they went to the doctors immediately on arrival, they should be able to pull it off. Annabeth does warn them however, the children are likely to have photographic memory. So it's likely they'll know the truth like she did.

Special Agent Mark Briggs of the FBI names his daughter Patricia, and like Kyle, he decides to tell everyone she's the product of a wild fling he had several months back and was basically left on his door step. Adam calls Mss. Dounters and Ms. Macktiem to let them know of this new development and to aid in smoothing things with records.

The young witch, Amelia Hassan, names her son Osmar. It turns out, her family and Arkadyevna's have been feuding for some time, low level thankfully. Elizaveta at least seems to have a weak spot for children and offers to assist her. Amelia seems suspicious, rightfully I think, but is willing to accept some, mostly just to get to her cousin in Seattle. Elizaveta even cleans up the blood and offers her help to the Henderson's in altering their vacation photos to match the story of her being pregnant.

Maybe she really does have a weak spot for babies?
