~~~~~*Under the School in the Cells*~~~~~
Maka slowly walked down the hall filled with cells, carefully searching for her father's cell. As she continued to walk, she found Sid standing in front of a cell with a plate of food. "Good morning, Sid." Maka greeted as she approached. "Ahh, Maka, good morning. Where's Soul?" Sid asked as he turned towards her. "He's with Stein. What are you doing here?" She questioned. "I was told to bring your father some food, but he isn't feeling as social as usual." He explained as he looked at the cell. "May I take the food into him?" Maka asked slowly. "I don't know..." Sid began to say. "Sid, please! He's my father! Let me do it!" She begged. Sid thought for a moment. "Alright, alright. I will wait here until you're finished." He finally told her. Maka thanked him as she took the trey of breakfast, that consisted of a glass of milk and a bowl of oatmeal on it, and entered Spirit's cell.
"Papa?" Maka said as she slowly entered the small cell. "Maka?" A voice came from a shadow that was tucked away in the corner of the cell. "Maka, what are you doing here? Why aren't you with Soul Eater?" He asked, his voice growing bitter as he spoke of his fellow death scythe. "I came to see you papa." Maka answered as she set the trey down in front of him. "Soul is with Stein. Please eat papa." She said as she motioned to the food. "I'm not hungry, and you should leave. You don't want to be seen talking to me." He told her as he shifted away from Maka. "But papa, I wanted to see you..." She tried to explain. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Spirit yelled at Maka.
Soul had been standing outside the cell and was talking with Sid when he heard Spirit yell at Maka. Fearful that she would be harmed, he quickly ran into the cell with his arm already in the form of his blade. "Maka?! Are you alright?!" He asked as she ran to seek comfort in his embrace. "Please... just take me home..." She cried quietly into his chest. Returning his arm to it's human form, Soul hugged Maka as he backed out of the cell. "We can go anywhere you want..." He said as he tried to comfort her. From inside the cell, Spirit sat, silently cursing himself for yelling at his little girl.
"I just want to go home..." Maka told Soul as she released her hold on him and began walking to the stairs. Soul quickly followed her up the stairs and out to the front of the school. "Maka, what happened?" He asked when he finally caught up to her. "Nothing." She said quickly as she hid her eyes behind her bangs. "Bullshit, Maka just tell me. I want to help!" Soul said as he gently grabbed her elbow. "What's the point?!" Maka snapped as she quickly turned around to face her weapon. "Soul, my father hates me! He told me to leave!" She screamed before falling to her knees as she cried into her hands. Soul quickly knelled beside her and pulled her into his chest. "Spirit does NOT hate you... he's just confused..." He said as he tried to comfort her. "No, no, no... He hates me... this is all my fault..." Maka cried as she tried to pull away, but Soul merely gripped her tighter. "Maka, he dotes on you. He could never hate you! I promise your old man loves you more than life itself." He whispered into her ear before kissing her forehead. "Come on, let's get you home." He said before picking her up bridal style and walked to his motorcycle. He gently placed her on the seat before he climbed on in front of her and started the engine. Maka lazily gripped the back of his jacket before he started to drive off to the apartment.
