Okay, I've recieved two PMs, and apparently, Smokekit is meant to be rude and mean. Also, the tom name was requested multiple times as Lionkit, and so it will be of that name :).
Crosskit awoke to a bright and sunny morning, she could see her littermates batting at each other playfully, cheerily scampering after each other in a tussle. The realization hit Crosskit with a pang.
She turned six moons today. She leaped to her paws, bouncing up and down happily. She glanced over to her brother, who was watching her silently. His pelt glistened a golden yellow, with one white fore-paw and a white furred tail-tip. She leaped over to him, whiskers twitching. "Lionkit? It's Lionkit, right?" Crosskit asked her brother, hardly remembering their names due to her lack of conversations with him. "Yeah," he smiled slightly. "I was just about to head out to my friend, want to come?" Lionkit asked Crosskit.
"Sure," Crosskit nodded, eyes gleaming with interest. Lionkit grinned and padded out of the nursery and towards another tom nearby the fresh kill pile. He was hanging about with his friends, Otterkit, Swiftkit and Pinekit. Crosskit paused, watching them all. She recognized Otterkit straight away, but the others were different. Swiftkit was a pure white she-cat, Pinekit was golden-brown tom with a white ring around his eye. And the other was Leopardkit, from what she'd heard. A muscular golden tom with black spots on his fur coat. He had black paws and a black tipped tail, making him look exactly identical to a leopard. Crosskit hesitated before leaping up beside Lionkit and the others. "Hi, I'm Crosskit." She mewed to the other kits.
"Hey." Leopardkit replied flatly. "What's up with that thing on your head?" Swiftkit asked curtly. "It's a scar," Crosskit laced her ears back against her head, part of it covering up an inch of the scar. Swiftkit frowned, "it looks kinda weird."
Pinekit glanced at his litter mate, eyes showing objection. "It does not." He snapped. "It actually looks kind of cool on her," he flashed a smile at Crosskit, and waited for Swiftkit to reply. "Whatever." Was all she said, turning away and trotting off towards the nursery. Lionkit watched Swiftkit leave, his honeydew eyes ablaze. "Don't listen to her, she wasn't always the kindest of the pod." Leopardkit blinked at his own comment, his tail whisking from side-to side.
Smokekit immediately ushered her way over to Swiftkit voluntarily, who was already with Lilykit. It was obvious they were all friends, eyes gleaming with a weird interest as they spoke together. At the corner of her eye, Crosskit could see Moonkit bounding towards Aspenlight, settling down beside him and chattering about something unknown. They seemed to be getting along well, obviously as friends though, due to her pouncing around his paws.
"...What do you usually do?" Crosskit asked the toms. Leopardkit grinned, "I say we go out to the climbing stones." The tom grinned. "Um... Isn't that a bit far?" Crosskit began mewing, but was cut off by the excited agreements from Pinekit. "That would be so fun!" Otterkit chided, along with Lionkit nodded by Leopardkit's side. The considered "leader" glanced to Crosskit, "are you okay with that?" he asked her, gaze softening. "Yeah, I guess..." Crosskit shrugged.
The four of them wandered out towards the climbing stones, Leopardkit instantly leaping forward and grappling with the rock. Lionkit follow straight after, as well as Otterkit and Pinekit. They fought to grab hold and stay stable in the stone, but were still hanging off the stone. "Crosskit, come on, it's meant to be like this!" Lionkit called down. Crosskit hesitated for a moment, before bounding forward, and leaping up the boulder. She easily clawed her way up the stone and next to Leopardkit, who was nearly at the top. The "Leader" smirked, and swiftly threw himself into the air, landing onto the top of the climbing stone with a slight 'eugh'.
Crosskit gathered her balance, and clambered up the rest of the rock and onto the stable area on top. Pinekit followed after, as well as Otterkit. Leopardkit strutted up boldly, his claws extended. "I am Leopardstar!" He roared, "and my loyal deputy is Pinepelt. Lionleaf will be my most noble warrior, and Otterflame (dun worry, these aren't there real names) is one of my other, loyal warriors. And Crossscar, is my trustworthy medicine cat." The tom announced, grinning.
Crosskit froze. Medicine cat? Crossscar? Was that really all they thought of her? It couldn't be!
"Why Crossscar?" she blurted, her eyes flaming. "Because, your scar." Leopardkit blinked. "Shut up, mouse-brain!" Pinekit hissed, pouncing onto Leopardkit and battering his paws at his side. "I didn't do anything!" Leopardkit retorted. "I'm just stating the obvious." He pummeled his litter mate away, and glanced to Lionleaf. "You are now my deputy, Pinepelt has proven himself worthy of just a warrior." The tom mewed curtly, eyes narrowed. "It's fine guys, It's just a game." Crosskit whispered.
"No. It's not fine." Pinekit frowned, and hissed at Leopardkit.
"Fine. Fine. Let's return back to Camp." Leopardkit lowered his gaze to his paws, leaping down from climbing stone and back to Camp. Just at the entrance, Rainstorm raised Crosskit with a hiss and bounded back to the nursery. "You aren't allowed to leave this den, and you leave Camp!? You are such a dimwitted fox-brain!" the queen yowled with rage.
Crosskit flinched at her words. "But mom! I only wanted to-"
"No, you be quiet! Because of you Lionkit followed you out! Now shut up and stay here, watch your litter mates ceremony from this den." Rainstorm glared at Crosskit, fur bristling. "But mom! What about me, I'm a part of the ceremony!" She flashed back.
"Not anymore." Rainstorm hissed, and leaped over to Finchstar, who was calling together the Clan. "Leopardkit, Swiftkit, Pinekit, Otterkit, Lionkit, Moonkit, Smokekit, Lilykit and Crosskit, please step up."
"Not Crosskit." Rainstorm called. "She isn't ready."
"Not ready? Well, I must take your word for it, Rainstorm. I will hold back Crosskit for a quarter moon." Finchstar replied, her eyes narrowed. Rainstorm nodded and sat down, glancing back to Crosskit with a grin on her face. Robinsky leaped forward, eyes wide in confusion. "What's wrong is she hurt?" He asked his mate. "No. She just isn't worth it, she's a curse for CloudClan's sake! Now do you understand." Rainstorm retorted, her tail lashing. Robinsky's eyes narrowed to slits. "She is just a kit, don't say these things. It isn't her fault!"
"It is not going to grow great, she'll bring bad luck to the Clan." Rainstorm spat under her breath as Finchstar began announcing everything. Robinsky's fur began to bristle, and he said nothing more, only stalked off and watched from the shadows of a tree.
Crosskit watched through wide eyes, it was her fault they were fighting! This couldn't be happening?!
"Leopardpaw your mentor will be Ravenfoot, Moonpaw your mentor will be Aspenlight. Swiftpaw your mentor will be Blacktail, Pinepaw your mentor will be Stormstrike. Otterpaw, your mentor will be Cloudwisp. Lionpaw, your mentor will be Creekfur. Smokepaw, your mentor will be Rainsplash. Lilypaw, your mentor will be Mintfern." Finchstar finished, and dismissed the Clan quickly.
Crosskit didn't even watch, eyes blank and mind whirling. She felt dizzy, dropping to the ground in her nest, before she slipped away, into what she thought was sleep, but what she felt, was a coma.
