Nightfrost- I can still add the kit you want into the story, just tell me where :). I feel bad now that I couldn't have mentioned that earlier, sorry!
Also, I will be accepting kits for Creekfur's litter, and of course, Crickett5, you can accept whichever kits you'd like as well and choose how many you want.
And for all of you that requested other names, I'm so sorry, but majority wins 0: . But if you think it is a bad name, just tell me and I'll change it up. Also, on another notice, I've replied to you Fireburningflame x3. In the reviews. And in fact, all of you should check it out :3. I said that I had two names I can change it too if you guys want, one is:
Of the Pure and Poison
and the other:
The Forgotten Warriors
But if you like the name as it is, just say so :).
Also, I will be starting a new story coming up in February 2014! (most likely). You guys can tell me some ideas, I'm thinking possibly something about the original Clans, after The Last Hope. And also, I'm thinking that there would be four packs of wild animals with powers and different features. So, you guys should help! I'll dedicate the story to you and give you a shout-out since you helped out ;).
Now, onto the storyy!
Crosskit woke to a jolt, visions rummaging in her head. She glanced to Leopardpaw, who was asleep at her side, chest faintly rising and falling. "L-Leopardpaw?" she whispered, prodding him awake. Her voice was tense, and the orbs in her eyes were sinking into fright. "Huh?" Leopardpaw murmured as he awoke, blinking open his eyes. "Well... Um... I had a nightmare..." she flinched after finishing her sentence, thinking he would tease her. But he didn't.
"Would you like to tell me it? Pretty quickly, actually, since I have Dawn Patrol not too soon." Leopardpaw raised a 'brow' and watched as Crosskit parted her jaws to speak. "It was about Rainstorm taking me out of Camp, attacking me and trying to kill me." She winced as the sight of blood rushed into her eyes. Her eyes twitched slightly, but she knew it was only a figment of her imagination. "And you tried to save me, but Rainstorm killed you instead, and threw me to some mutts. She planted the death that you killed me, and she killed you for revenge." The terrified kit finished her story, body quivering.
"Don't worry. I wont let that happen," Leopardpaw frowned, his orbs narrowing to slits. "T-Thanks, Leopardpaw..." Crosskit whispered, and curled up next to Leopardpaw, his heat stretching onto her fur. Crosskit didn't realize how long they were sitting there for, but they were awake, breathing in each others scent.
"Leopardpaw! Come here, we're leaving for the patrol. We need to be quick, we don't want to miss Crosskit's ceremony." Robinsky called to the tom, eyes brightening at the sight of Crosskit, chest swelling up with pride. "Alright," Leopardpaw nodded, and trotted over to Robinsky. "Where is Ravenfoot?" Leopardpaw asked Robinsky, who flicked his tail over to the apprentices' mentor. He was a part of the crowd swarming Aspenlight like fleas. "What patrol am I on?"
"Where am I supposed to go?"
"To what borders?"
The questions fluttered around him, Aspenlight being unable to reply. "Stop." Finchstar leaped over, parting the cats away from Aspenlight. "Form a line," her meow rang with annoyance slightly, but she forced herself to stop the sudden tone. "We aren't kits, we shouldn't have to form a line to ask questions." She lowered her gaze at her warriors. "Now, each one of you ask one-by-one inside your lines." The leader assigned the cats, before bounding off to her den.
Leopardpaw glanced away, that was none of his business. "Okay, let's get going. Ravenfoot will catch up with us, I guess."
By now Leopardpaw had finally returned, his gaze was solid as he padded over to Crosskit, who was asleep inside her nest. "Hey. Wake up." Leopardpaw murmured to his friend, who snapped awake. "Hmm?" she asked, eyes wide. "I saw Rainstorm at the borders during my patrol. It looked like she was awaiting someone. But anyways, shouldn't she be here with you?"
Crosskit shrugged. She was used to it. "You'd think I'd care, huh? I don't. So, you shouldn't worry."
"All cats old enough to see in the dark, gather around JaggedPeak." Finchstar yowled across the Clan. Crosskit glanced to a grinning Leopardpaw, and realized it was her apprentice ceremony. She skirted over to JaggedPeak and watched Finchstar. "Crosskit, please step up." Finchstar meowed. Crosskit leaped up instead, almost face-planting into the jagged stone. "Crosskit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Crosspaw. Your mentor will be Silentfeather. I hope Silentfeather will pass down all he knows on to you."
Silentfeather stepped over, leaning down to touch noses with Crosspaw who eagerly reared up onto her hind legs and nudged him with her nose. Silentfeather purred and backed up, "let's go out to explore the territory. Come on." Crosspaw nodded and followed her mentor.
Aspenlight sat beside Lilypaw, chatting about something she obviously found no interest in. But her eyes gleamed with a feeling Crosspaw had some sort of connection with, she understood it. Did the apprentice find a liking for this tom? Or no. Well, where had she felt the feeling, anyways? Most likely her father, definitely not her mother. She watched Rainstorm, who was entering Camp, with a flash of sympathy in her eyes. She was just worried about the curse, right? But that only meant one thing. Crosspaw had to prove that she wasn't a curse, and she would be one of the best warriors in the Clan.
