Heyyy guys c:
Final chapter is gonna come soon seeing that people don't read this story much anymore xd
Firstly, though, this series has really gone farther than I thought it would. It's really helped me so much, more than you can imagine, but mostly because I knew that people actually like what I do. Thank you all for reviewing over the past couple of chapters, it really shows me what I can accomplish.
Guess what though! I'm gonna be starting a new series, and it'll definitely be way better than this one! And I will have a schedule for it, I promise you. If anyone can send me ideas for the upcoming story, that'd be great! C: It'll be Warriors, too, just letting you know. Also, should it be a romance, adventure, or something else? Anything helps!
Other than that, some other reasons as to why I don't update much~
This summer has been hectic. I lost four friends. They all just stopped talking to me, either hating me, lying to me or ignoring me completely. I've sort of given up on everything. My parents were telling me at the same time that I won't go anywhere in life if I spend my time writing stories or drawing-they say it's just a hobby, but it's more than that to me.
Later on this summer, it just hit me. I have no talent. I've looked across what all my (past) friends can do. They can sing, play instruments, draw and so many more stuff. It pained me to realize that I had nothing I could be proud of. My writing skills were average, the regular sort of thing. My drawings were lumps and bumps that I claimed were different animals. I only have one drawing I'm proud of that I put on my DeviantART.
So, after that dawned upon me, all I did was watch YouTube videos all day long (specifically PewDiePie, Superwoman and Connor Franta :p). Everything sucked. I'd sort of forgotten about FanFiction, but after a while I checked back and read through every single review on this story. And it just made me so happy. Thank you all so much. I know this is boring, and I'm sorry, but I just had to get it out. You all made me understand that even if I don't have a talent, I still do what I like and people still enjoy it. And I just want to make people happy.
Hey, maybe I'll start a YouTube channel for all I know, but I'd fail miserably lol.
Anyways, you probably just skipped to the end of this because you got bored, so I'll get on with the story! Here it is! The second last chapter!
Forestpaw padded out of the apprentice den. It had been six moons, and the cold weather was rolling in. He remembered the conversations from yesterday. Anxious murmurs rose everywhere and everything seemed cold and still. He crept forward, heading towards the fresh kill pile just as a loud yowl erupted from his side. He already knew who it was.
"All cats must gather. Fast!" The familiar call of Rainstar snapped.
Forestpaw's ears flattened against his head. He wondered what she was going to say. Lately she'd been keeping to herself, muttering things to her deputy and snapping at the medicine cats. This was her first time in a while since she'd spoken.
Forestpaw picked out a shrew and twisted around to face the leader. She summoned cats with a flick of her tail, eyes narrowed more than ever. Her ears perked and her claws unsheathed. She looked over the Clan, her breathing coming off irregular.
"All of you seem dense and stupid. I need to check on your loyalty. I will pick off three cats, and you will see what happens next. Don't speak out or I'll shred you too. Either that or one of my cats will do it for me," She spit out the words like they were mouse-dung. Behind her was Hazelstream, Sandpelt and Fallenleaf, each ready to attack at any moment.
Rainstar sniffed the air three times before calling out a name.
"Duskpaw, stand on the rock ledge," She announced with a growl. The small apprentice crawled over stiffly and scrabbled up the rock. His paws wobbling under him. Rainstar leaped over swiftly, a low snarl escaping her throat. She easily rammed into him and pinned him down, her claws raking his flank. She hissed in his face. "Any objections?!" She howled out.
The Clan was silent. Forestpaw couldn't handle it. The poor tom was being mangled and beaten and no one said a word. He opened his mouth to speak but he was pushed to the ground just as soon as he tried to speak. He glimpsed sight of Winterpaw, who mumbled a "shh" and continued watching.
Rainstar lunged for Duskpaw and knocked him out cold. She swung him to his paws while he was out, and shoved him off the ledge, his limp body making a painful thudding noise.
Forestpaw winced, his tail lashing.
"Good. Next off, Amberkit. Come here," She addressed and scanned over the Clan for the she-kit.
"No! You can't touch her!" Rosepetal, the new queen of the kits snapped, rising to her paws. "Don't lay a paw on her or I'll crack your bones in half!"
"Oh... I'd like to see you try," Rainstar hissed through gritted teeth, a smile wrapping across her face.
Rosepetal trotted over defiantly, though fear flashed in her eyes. "You chose defenseless Clan members because you know you can't beat a warrior! Hold your stupid pets off," She growled, flashing her tail towards the three cats who stood guard behind Rainstar. "That's the only way you could win!"
"Oh really? Then you three, take her away." Rainstar spat out, ordering the three warriors. They marched up and cornered Rosepetal. The she-cat swiped at Hazelstream's muzzle and tore her nose, but she was outnumbered and quickly brought down by the following two warriors, soon enough dragged away from the rest of the Clan cats, who stared in shock and disbelief altogether.
"Next..." She trailed off, watching over the crowd.
"Winterpaw," She chose with a grin.
The she-cat gasped from behind Forestpaw, who was about to yell in outrage when Winterpaw wrapped her tail around his muzzle. "I'll deal with it. Don't you dare say anything for me," She whispered and padded over to the leader.
Forestpaw let out a low growl and watched intently.
Rainstar swiped a paw at Winterpaw's legs, knocking her over. The apprentice hissed and slashed her claws on Rainstar's chest, drawing blood. It dripped slowly down on Winterpaw, who lunged to snap at Rainstar. The leader dodged an slammed her claws down on Winterpaw's stomach. The apprentice gulped for air, her breathing coming in ragged gasps. Her blood trickled like rain from her flank, falling to the ground one by one. She flailed her paws helplessly, scratching Rainstar's neck once before her paws jumbled together to create a weird mesh of fur. She only focused on breathing, but Rainstar continued slashing and shredding through Winterpaw's body.
Forestpaw finally stood up. "Let her go you idiot! You can't handle taking on a warrior, right? Rosepetal was correct!" He yowled, dashing over to the rock and leaping into Rainstar. He pinned her down and she fell to the grass with a thud. Forestpaw swiped at her fur, tearing clumps out until he reached her flank. She snarled at him and reached for his neck, he dodged as quickly as he could but she still managed to graze him. Her claws jabbed into his body, but the weight was lifted off of him in an instant, and his mother swooped over, smashing Rainstar to the ground. She swiftly made a killing bite and Forestpaw scrambled over to see. He found that Rainstar's eyes were fading, her paws swaying in the air as she tried to regain her breath. She gasped, letting out coughs as she ached for air.
"Please! Spare me!" She croaked, and Forestpaw understood that she knew where she was heading. Not to CloudClan with the rest of the cats, but to the dark places where no one could do anything except sulk in darkness.
No one said a word as she began to quit moving, and announced dead.
The thought only occurred to Forestpaw just as Rainstar died. That Winterpaw was still lying in pain on the rock. He raced over to her, and leaped up on the rock, ignoring the pain in his leg. "Winterpaw?" He asked, nudging his sister's flank.
"I-I'm okay, Forestpaw... I think... You're fine, though, right?" She asked, nosing him softly. "I guess no one can break a brother-sister team, right?" She murmured and glanced off to Crossflame.
"Yeah. Now that Lionshade is leader, maybe we'll be apprentices. That would be awesome," He grinned, waiting a moment for her reply. "What's wrong? Do you not think so? You were the last person I'd thought would disagree with me, Winterpaw," He smirked.
No reply.
"Winterpaw? Don't scare me!" He gasped and pawed at her, he glanced to her eyes, which were closed, while her chest heaved a last time before going still.
"No... She can't be!" He yowled. "She can't be dead!"
His eyes clouded and he curled up next to her body. She was his only true friend. Nothing would be the same without her.
He rested his head next to her, and let out a whimper, just as the sky rumbled. It would rain soon, and he would have to head for cover, but although how his mom pleaded him, he refused and remained near his sister. "No!" He snapped, his tail lashing.
I'll never get another friend...
It's impossible.
