A/N: Hi! Sorry for taking so long, I didn't really have a lot of time over the summer, or the inspiration. But now I do! I hope to be posting some more chapters in the coming weeks, I got some things planned for the family. Until then I hope you enjoy this filler chapter which takes place during the same time as chapter 2: Shopping with Sophie.

Half an hour after Tony and Sophie had left the mansion, the door bell rang. Harley did not look up and continued with his game as Pepper walked to the door and let the visitors in.

"Hi, Nat, it's so good to see you!" Pepper gave Natasha Romanoff a hug, which Nat – awkwardly – returned.

"Good to see you to, Pepper. Where's Tony?"

Pepper waved off the comment. "Oh, he's just shopping."

Natasha raised her eyebrows, but Pepper didn't notice as she realized she forgot to greet Nat's boyfriend.

She gave him a hand. "Hi, I'm so sorry. I'm Pepper. Nice to meet you, Clint."

Clint Barton shook her hand, ignoring her apology as if it wasn't necessary. "Nice to meet you too, Pepper."

Pepper asked her visitors what they wanted to drink and showed them the living room, where Harley was still seated playing his game. Natasha and Clint looked at the kid with wonder while they sat down on the couch.

"Oh, right. Nat. Clint. This is Harley. Harley, these people here are Natalie – I mean, Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton."

Harley said a soft 'hi' without looking up. Pepper turned back to Nat and Clint. "Tony and I adopted Harley and his sister Sophie after the whole Extremis incident. Their mother died in the Extremis attack in Rose Hill, Tennessee. Tony went shopping with Sophie."

Pepper ticked Harley on his shoulder. "Harley, could you please put your game down. We got visitors. Harley." She said again, this time in a sterner voice.

"Yeah, yeah." Slowly Harley closed his game and put it down. Pepper went to the kitchen to fetch the drinks and left the three in an awkward silence.

"So…" Clint started. "How did you get Tony to adopt you?"

Natasha patted Clint on his leg. "I'm not sure if it's a good idea to talk about that." She warned him.

"Oh, it's okay." Harley said quickly. "Tony stayed in our garage for a while after his house got blown up and I helped him investigate the Extremis attacks, so he owed me. He's now shopping with Sophie for a new limited-edition Dora watch because a bad guy broke it."

"How did the bad guy break the watch? Did he get into the house?" Natasha asked.

"Oh, no. Tony needed a watch so I gave him Sophie's one."

Clint started laughing at the idea of Tony Stark – THE Tony Stark – with a Dora watch on his wrist.

Harley laughed too. "Yeah, it was pretty funny."

Pepper walked back in with the drinks and put them on the table. "What was pretty funny?"

"Tony with a Dora watch." Natasha said casually. She didn't really get the funny part of it.

"Oh, yeah." Pepper sat down. "That."

"So, how do you know each other?" Harley asked.

"Oh, Nat worked for me for a while when I was the CEO of Stark Industries."

"I know Tony from New York." Clint said, feeling a bit ignored.

Harley's face brightened up by hearing those words. "Really?" He asked, jumping up in excitement.

Clint, who immediately had figured out what his mistake had been, tried to wave it way by telling him it was no big deal, but Harley wasn't going to give up so soon. He hadn't gotten a lot from Tony about what happened in New York and was still curious for the story.

Natasha saw the opportunity Harley's excitement had created and took it. "Oh, Pepper, maybe we should leave the boys alone, so we could talk, you know, eye to eye?"

Clint started to protest but the ladies picked up their drinks and left the room, leaving him alone with Harley.

"So what did you do in New York? Wait, are you the guy with the arrows?"

"Yeah, that's me." Clint thought being honest and straightforward was going to be the best way to talk with this kid. He figured that if he wasn't going to tell the truth the kid would see right through him and only bug him more. Not to mention this was a Stark kid now, so he was going to figure out the truth about New York sooner or later anyway. No problem if he was the one giving him some facts.

"Do you got a cool nickname? Like, they call Tony Iron Man, and you got Captain America and the Hulk. What's yours?"

"Hawkeye."

"Hawkeye. Cool. How'd you get that name?"

Wait, this wasn't about New York at all and was getting a bit personal. "I see better from a distance. Like, from the roof of a building."

"Awesome. Why did you start to use a bow and arrows? And how did you get to be part of the Avengers? Oh! Can you teach me?!" the boy was now standing in front of him with big eyes filled with curiosity and excitement.

Harley had so many questions, Clint thought he could get away with not answering them if he only answered the kid's last question. Hopefully Harley would ignore that he had ignored the others."I'm not sure if Tony would be too happy about that."

"Oh come on!" Harley was indeed too focused on being taught archery. "Please?"

"No."

"Pretty please?"

"No."

"It's either archery or a boring suit." Harley tried.

"You don't find Tony's suits boring and the answer is still no."

"Oh come on."

Harley was now trying to do a staring contest with him. Clint was annoyed that Natasha and Pepper had left them alone. The next time he was coming over he was going to make sure he knew Tony would be here too. Or be gone with both kids instead of one. He was not going to play babysitter.

"Hey, you know what, kid? I had asked Tony to make me a new bow and some cool arrows, like a net-arrow, and a boomerang arrow! We could go look for it and then I can teach you some archery." It was a lie, but Harley believed it and ran downstairs. Clint followed slowly and made a mental note to truly ask Tony to make him those arrows. A boomerang arrow, how amazing would that be?
