Hi guys! I'm back with a brand new chapter. I'm so, so sorry it has taken me so long to update however after a nasty flu, a broken hand and endless exams, I can now devout myself to this fanfiction which is about to get fluffy. Thank you to those who still continue to beg me to finish and to my close friends for the help and encouragement to get this show back on the road. So without further ado I give you chapter 5.
"Emily sweetie! Time to come in!" Isabelle shouted from the front door. Emily had spent the evening playing out with her friends in the village park. The young girl turned her head towards her mother and smiled happily.
"Bye everyone!" Emily giggled and skipped to meet her mother.
"Bath and bed when we get in Em." Isabelle said softly whilst taking her daughters tiny hand.
"Mommy… It's my birthday tomorrow" The girl's excitement brought a dainty smile to play upon Isabelle's lips.
"It sure is! I can't believe you're going to be six. You're so grown up!" With her words Isabelle picked Emily up and held her close. "My perfect baby girl" Isabelle nestled her head into Emily's hair.
A little while later Isabelle had finished bathing her baby girl and was brushing her hair as Emily sang softly. The whole picture was utterly heart-warming. The mother and the daughter, surrounded by a gentle light. Both happy, both content, both warm. Isabelle couldn't help wish wish Simon was by her side not only for support as a parent but also for Emily, so she could have some sort of a father figure in her life. The woman hoped with all her might that he would be here soon, so that Emily wasn't too disappointed.
"Finished, Princess" Isabelle set the brush on Emily's bedside table and kissed the crown of her head.
"Thank you mommy" Em crawled over and slotted herself under the covers. "Can I tell you a bedtime story tonight?" Em sat up eagerly and grinned. Within the weeks prior Emily had begun to develop a love for manga. When Isabelle first noticed her daughters reading habits she found herself smiling with tears rolling down her cheeks. Partially because her brother, Max, was obsessed with Manga and partially because of Simon. Emily had so much of her father in her.
"Okay mommy here goes. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…" The memory flashed before her eyes before she could stop it. Magnus' spare bedroom. Simon's arms. Tequila. The warm swell in her heart. When she finally stopped reminiscing Emily had finished her story telling.
"The End" Emily beamed and nestled down, yawning as she went
Isabelle had just finished stoking the open fire in the living room when she sat back and finally began to finish wrapping Emily's presents. There seemed so many for a 5 year old but then again Isabelle loved spoiling her baby girl. There were dresses and shoes and dolls and play make up and everything would surely make her daughter smile. Isabelle was so proud of herself for managing to get Emily everything she wanted, and a few little extras. The only gift Isabelle was doubtful of her princess receiving was her father. Simon was still a no show. Not that Isabelle had expected him to turn up, but she knew how much his presence meant to her daughter.
Sighing heavily Isabelle rose and walked to the kitchen to make herself a well-deserved cup of tea. As she looked out of the window her mood dampened, rain and rolled heavily down the windows and the joy rolled quickly from her soul. The kettle clicked and tea was made. After a quick tidy around Isabelle settled into her sofa tucking her legs underneath her and resting her mug on her thighs. The TV was rubbish, as per usual! Nothing but reality TV and melodramatic soap operas. The rain only seemed to come down harder as the hour dragged on minute. Suddenly Isabelle was submerged into a heavy darkness. Sleep consumed her mind as she drifted off into a vivid dreamland.
In the distance was a light. As the light drew closer she realised she was in a room. A living room that wasn't hers nor one she recognised. However despite the unfamiliarity she felt comfortable. The sort of comfortable she only felt at home. Behind her were giggles and chuckles and as she turned she saw her daughter playing tag, with a man. Her man. Her Simon. The looked so happy, both laughing and playing.
"Izz… Save me!" Simon was shouting. He was now on the floor being tickled by a very hyper Emily. Isabelle couldn't help but hide the bright smile that crept onto her face at the sight.
"Izz?" Suddenly Simon was up and by her side his eyes filled with concern. She felt his forehead on hers. "Baby I think it's time." She looked down at their hands. One now held a stick. "Go on" Simon urged beaming. Her vision came into focus on the small pink plus on the front. She was pregnant. She
was pregnant with Simon's baby and he was here, right beside her, happy!
In a sharp turnoff events the room bean to drift away from Isabelle and she heard a faint knocking.
Her eyes were open! KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.
"Isabelle?" Through the rain pitter pattering on the paving stones outside her cottage, she heard her name. Although she couldn't imagine who it could be at this time of night in the middle of a downpour. Isabelle staggered to the door tiredly dragging her feet along the soft carpet. Her hand moved and unlocked the door, then opened it. In the rain, the pouring rain, stood a sodden Simon Lewis.
