Hi readers! Here's the next chapter. Enjoy! :)

Hinata wasn't sure what to say. When she opened the door, she found herself just staring at Kiba, wondering what to say.

"Good afternoon, Kiba," Neji was behind Hinata now, his hand placed reassuringly on her shoulder.

"'Sup, Neji." Kiba nodded to the oldest Hyuuga. Akamaru, who was laying lazily at his owner's feet, raised his head and let out a friendly bark.

Neji turned to his cousin. "We'll see you tomorrow," he said curtly. "Let's go, Hanabi."

Without a word, Hanabi trailed behind Neji out the door. She turned around before jumping off the porch. "Bye, Hinata."

"B-bye," Hinata nervously called. Then, she watched her two family members leave her, alone with Kiba.

"Can we talk?" Kiba said. He was unusually cold. She missed his warm, happy personality.

"Y-yes," she said, and stood aside to let him in.

Kiba stepped inside the house. Akamaru tried to follow, but Kiba turned around and said to him, "Wait here, Akamaru. I'll be back soon."

Akamaru let out a whine and nuzzled against Hinata.

"It'll only take a second, buddy," Kiba said, scratching the dog's ears. "Sit!"

Akamaru let out an unhappy groan, but obeyed his master as the door was shut.

"He's missed you," Kiba said. He wasn't looking at Hinata.

"I've missed him," the Hyuuga replied. She peered at Kiba nervously through her lashes. Now, he was looking at her, a serious expression on his face.

"I wish I could say I'm glad to see you," he said, "but it was really hard to get myself to finally come and talk to you."

Hinata said nothing.

Kiba continued. "Why, Hinata?" he said, almost desperately. "Why didn't you tell me you didn't love me anymore? I would have rather known than have been played all this time by you."

Hinata wrung her hands. "Y-you have every right to hate me," she said.

"I don't know if I hate you," Kiba said before she could say anything more. "I don't know if I even can hate you, Hinata."

"You... don't hate me? But- but you should! I've done so much wrong by you."

"Hinata, I just want to know why you strung me along like that," he said sharply.

Hinata was silent for a while. Why had she done it?

"I don't think that I thought anything special would happen between me and Itachi," she finally said. "I always had feelings for you. Even when I was developing feelings for him. I just... handled everything the wrong way."

"You can say that again," Kiba said bitterly.

"I wish I would have taken your feelings more into consideration," Hinata continued. "I was just selfish. I thought I could have everything. And because of that, I now have nothing. It's what I deserve." She looked up at he ex-boyfriend. "It's not enough for me to just say it, but... but I'm sorry, Kiba. I'm so sorry for everything I put you through."

Kiba's expression softened. He sighed and closed his eyes. "I'm not sure I can forgive you. Not yet, at least."

Hinata nodded. "I don't expect you to forgive me," she said.

Kiba put his hands on her shoulders. "The thing that sucks the most about all this is that... that I still have feelings for you. I don't know why, after everything you've done to me, but I do."

Hinata felt as though she had been stabbed. "Kiba..."

"I just don't think I can trust you again. Even though I wish I could so that I can be with you again. Although, I'm not sure you would even want me."

Hinata's eyes were beginning to sting. "Why?" she shakily asked.

Kiba shook his head. "I don't know. But... you've always been important to me. And I think you always will."

Hinata wiped her eyes. "I know you don't think I do," she said, "but I do care about you. And I want you to be happy. I'm not the one who can make you happy, though."

Kiba slowly nodded his head. "Can I ask you something?" he suddenly said.

"Of course," she replied.

"Even if I were to trust you again, and things could go back to the way they were... would you consider being with me again?"

Hinata was shocked by his question. "Kiba, I... I don't think things ever can go back to the way they were. Romantically, at least."

"Really?" his face seemed to fall a bit.

"Really." Hinata hesitated. "You deserve to know that..." she stopped. Would she be able to say it?

"I deserve to know what?" Kiba raised an eyebrow.

Hinata hesitated, and Kiba lightly shook her. "What, Hinata?

"I'm... I'm pregnant." She hung her head, unable to look at his expression.

There was a long, painful silence. Finally, Hinata spoke up. "I'm so, so sorry," she said, her eyes stinging again.

Slowly, Kiba dropped his hands, still lost for words. He looked away, unable to look at Hinata's face.

Kiba finally cleared his throat. "I, um... I have a mission to get ready for," he said. "I'll see you later." And before Hinata could say goodbye, Kiba had flung open the door and left, shutting it quietly behind him.

"Kiba..." Hinata murmured, her eyes on the door. What have I done? How could I have been so terrible to him? He was nothing but good to me.

"Wow," said a sudden voice behind her. Hinata turned around to see Konan, lounging on her couch. She had completely forgotten that she was there. "So you went rogue, got pregnant, and had an affair, all at the same time. I guess I never gave you much credit, you rebel, you."

"Is everyone here?" Naruto called out, standing at the gates. He looked out at all his friends. Every single one was there, except for Hinata (obviously) and Kiba. "We need as many ninja as we can get! If Sasuke attempts that jutsu alone, he'll die!"

"Naruto, wait!" Kiba was running towards the crowd, Akamaru loping at his side.

"Geez, Kiba! We almost left without you! Were you having second thoughts?" Then, insensitive Naruto turned and started down the path. "Let's go! Before Granny Tsunade catches us!"

"Hey, Kiba." Ino was beside the boy now, looking at him sympathetically. "If this is too much for you, you don't have to come with us, you know."

Kiba shook his head, staring straight ahead. "If this is what will make Hinata happy, then I'll do it," he said.

Ino frowned. "You can turn back at any time," she reminded him.

Kiba faintly smiled at the girl. "Thanks, but I'm good. I'll still do anything for Hinata, even if she doesn't feel the same about me."

Ino's eyes filled with sadness for Kiba. She took his hand in hers comfortingly. "Well, I've got your back."

Kiba nodded. "I know."

Alright... Get ready for next chapter, because it's going to be a good one ;) Thanks for reading!
