Cake unrolled the map she held, placing it on an old crate, securing the ends with small weights. She sighed, inhaling deeply.
"Here's the plan, Killua you're the one who's good at sneaking around, I need you to go to the third floor of the fifth room to the left to the Nen enforced vault. You must get the key from the guard, the bronze key with a hole in the center. She places it underneath her pillow. When you grab hold of it, open the cabinet and there will be four keys in a single ring. Take them, close the cabinet, place the key, back underneath the pillow, and leave to go down the four levels of the stairs. Go down the gray corridor and meet us at the white door." Killua nodded with a stern face. "This applies to the two of you, you must get to the emergency staircase at ten thirty sharp, and not a millisecond late, alright? You must have the items we require. Kurapika, what I need you to do might not seem as hard, but it is nevertheless important." He nodded in reply as he shifted his chilled hands into his jacket.
"The first floor has a file room with all the files and booklets with the information of each person in the cells. The files contain information of their physical being. We need this for when we take him out. From what I remember Flores said, they would conduct 'experiments' here. Find it at our meet up place, at the same white door I just explained. I can't give you any specification on the information of where so you'll have to find it out yourself." His hand shifted out, then back in his jacket pocket.
"Don't worry I'll find a way."
"I will be on the second floor; this whole building is powered by a power cell. I'm going to turn it off at exactly 10:30. No later. You two should be down the stairs by then or else you'll be trapped and will be in a very tough situation." They nodded their heads, and Cake folded the map back into her satchel.
"When we're there, get Gon. We'll meet up at this tree," she said as she grabbed her knife slicing the bark with an 'x.' "Also I want you to be careful, there's a heavy snow storm hitting at around midnight."
They separated as they went their separate ways. Killua was the first to his destination; he chimed up the gutter and across the window sill, watching the snow shuffle off with the movement of his hands. Standing on a brick, he took off the window's frame before tugging it open with force, small shard-like icicles falling down, breaking apart on impact. He slipped inside, closing the window behind.
"10 more minutes." Killua placed his phone back in his pocket. He walked down the white corridor, stopping at the fifth door. He reached out to the doorknob turning it slowly before he silently entered. The room was white like the rest of the building, a figure shifted from the far corner of the room, the small grey vault set just in front of the bed. Kneeling down by the pillow, his arm reached under the pillow grabbing hold of the key. He slid the key out before making his way to the vault. Inserting the key, he gave it a strong twist and opened it, taking the contents.
"What are ya' doing with the master key?"
A voice barked into his ear as a large hammer was swung to his head. He managed to dodge the attack, jumping away, but with impact, the keys were flung right out of his hand and slid under the bed, far out of reach.
"Great," he hissed through his teeth.
The hammer was swung once again, seeing it was hard to miss, he dodged it once again, the object was the literal size of his head, not counting the nail like objects that protruded from it. The guard lady swung it with a rotation, the nails managing to grab hold of his shirt. With a strong grip, throwing him into the air before she swung the hammer once again, piercing his skin. Small barbs were lined on the nails ripped his flesh as they were violently torn from his skin, blood slipping from the ends.
"Why do ya' need the key brat?"
He propped himself up on his elbow, his back arching at each forceful bloody cough he took. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve before he stood up. Looking at the clock he saw that the time he had left. He sprinted to her before sliding below her, avoiding an almost fatal blow to the head. He reached his arm underneath the gap, searching frantically for the keys as she prepared for another attack.
Kurapika had made it to the file room, after lying about being a new employee to the guards, they was led him right to the room. Upon entering, he found the room lined with file cabinets along the wall, the room was long and narrow, file cabinets reaching the nonexistent ceiling. Luckily there were only nine file cabinets. He passed the cabinets, opening the one to his left he looked at the first file, looking for a name, but instead there was a number, not a name. Pictures were placed on the corner of each folder, he then went on a search for Gon's picture.
Four more minutes.
Flipping through the thick manila folders he had finally found Gon. Through this picture, it was thoroughly clear his face was the definition of pain. His left eye was swollen and purple, there was a black bruise down from his collarbone, blood covered his forehead, scattered with both fresh and old cuts. His watch then rang. He had to go. Grabbing the thick folder, he tucked it under his arm before rushing out the door. His footsteps padded down on the hard concrete floor of the run-down building. A loud rumble emitted from the hungry building shaking its insides, he ran by, yet was halted when long metal bars jumped down upon him, taking him under, pushing the heavy logs off he stumbled up to the door only to trip.
~Ten minutes ago~
Cake ran through the pasty white corridor avoiding the eyes of security guards turning corners one at a time, before almost casually slipping into the control room. She scanned the room, silently moving throughout the small circular premises. She sat in front of a computer, cracking her knuckles. She began inputting the code she had learned. A shifting sound had come across her ear.
"Enter. Okay now, all I need it the switch."
Her right sole of the foot stumbled across the room, crashing into computer board. Climbing out from the rubble, she dusted off her clothes.
"What was that for?" she protested, going ignored by the man
"You're not from around here. I can tell that much. Why are you here?" Silence answered his question as she simply slipped the strap over her head.
"Your silence leads me to believe you're an intruder."
She then dropped her satchel, and dust gathered around. They charged on head forward as an empty thud echoed. A gray mass grew at the palm of his hand before thrusting it forward. Dodging it, she moved in between the gap with his legs, placing her left palm against his back before rushing to a step. The tall man ran around her with a distance.
"An attack from the back, what a cheap shot."
She jumped to him, avoiding the hand before placing her own right hand against his left rib cage before being sent crashing into a wooden table. She staggered up to her feet, clutching the wooden shard that impaled her arm. 'I must find the switch.' She ripped out the wooden stake, dropping it to the side. The man had gotten hold of a pipe dragging it across the floor.
"I've been trying to hold my blood thirst for so long now. I think I might need to kill someone. I better take my time," words came out, sounding so normal, yet it held a harsh threat, his words were void to her deaf mind that was thoroughly set upon the switch. Looking into the computer sets, her gaze landed lastly upon a red switch to her left, covered by a transparent cover. She reached her hand to the button as she sprinted to it. The button was now in reach of her finger tip.
10 seconds
Kurapika threw himself to the door, the pain in his leg left ignored.
5 seconds
Killua ran down the hall as he dodged the last attacks from the woman, keys tinkling in his hand, the door now within sight.
