Hi everyone (if there's anyone left out there) First of all, I would like to apologize for not updating this story, I haven't had the inspiration to continue. And then, I would like to thank you, form the bottom of my heart, if some of you are still out there, waiting - this is for you! :) xo

Alec turned around to look at him. "Don't say that."

"What? I won't let it happen to you, I won't." Magnus replied and moved to put his arms around Alec "Don't you believe me?"

Alec sighed and leaned his head against Magnus' chest "I do.."

"But?"

"Nothing." Alec mumbled.

Magnus left it at that. What he had said was true though. He would not let Robert put his hands on his boyfriend again.

"How about some breakfast? You go and lie down and I'll make some scrambled eggs or something?" Magnus said and stroke Alec's back

"I'm not that hungry," Alec began but he didn't want to make Magnus worry about him even more so he simply nodded before heading to the couch.

"Here you go love." Magnus said and placed a plate in front of Alec.

"Thanks." Alec sat up and rested his head in his hands. Last nights lack of sleep had made him tired, but not tired enough to black out on the couch. He didn't want to close his eyes just to see his father's face.

Magnus sat down next to Alec and watched him. He knew he was slowly shutting down, the silence was not a good sign. They picked on the scrambled eggs in silence before Magnus put them down on the table, noticing that he was the only one really eating.

"Talk to me" Magnus said while facing Alec, grabbing his hands.

"I don't want to talk about it, I've told you-"

"So tell me something else," Magnus offered, his eyes still on Alec although the other was looking down on their hands.

"Like what? Magnus please, I'm really tired."

"I'm just trying to understand what's going on in that beautiful mind of yours."

Alec bit his lips before finally looking up at him "I'm not sure if I understand it myself"

Magnus pulled him into a hug, gently leaning back against the armrest of the couch, taking Alec down with him. Alec leaned his head against Magnus chest, the sound of his beating heart getting mixed with his own. They lay in silence for a couple of minutes, not an uncomfortable silence, it never were. Not with Magnus nor his siblings. He felt Magnus hand slowly making small circles over his back

"I'm sorry."

"Why?" Alec wondered. He could feel Magnus getting a little tense beneath him.

"I wasn't there."

This made Alec to look up, just to meet Magnus worried eyes. "Hey, don't say that."

"If I only-" but the rest of his words were swallowed down by Alec's lips on his.

"Don't," Alec repeated "It has nothing to do with you."

In a way, that wasn't exactly true. Robert had hit him because of his relationship with Magnus. Still, he knew that it wouldn't have made a difference if it had been with another man.

"It has nothing to do with you either." Magnus said.

Alec sighed heavily and lay down again "Except it does. "

(Text) from Jace:

Iz won't leave me alone. When are you coming home?

(Text) to Jace:

I don't know.

(Text) to Jace:

Tell her I'm fine.

(Text) from Jace:
Right. How's Magnus?

(Text) to Jace:
Alright. He's trying to convince me to go back today, but I don't know.

The truth was that Alec really didn't know - he didn't want to meet his father and have Magnus confront him, but at the same time, the longer he waited, the worse it would get.

His father's anger would only grow with each moment he spent with Magnus.

(Text) from Jace:

I don't know if I should tell you to come back or not..

(Text) to Jace:

I'm sorry..

(Text) from Jace:

Don't be, it's not your fault.

He put away the phone, not knowing what to answer and made his way out to the kitchen. He found Magnus leaning against the counter with his back against Alec.

"Hey." Alec whispered and placed his arms around the Warlock's waist, resting his head against his shoulder.

Magnus turned around in his arms "Hey."

Alec looked down "Are you...are you mad at me for not eating?"

"Of course not," Magnus replied and kissed Alec's forehead. Alec nodded slowly.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Anything"

He looked up at Magnus again "Can we please wait to go back until tomorrow?"

"Alexander, I -" Magnus began with a sigh

"Please, I need one day, just one where I don't have to worry about him. To not think about it, I mean, of course I will but - please. Just one normal day."

One day where he could relax a little, knowing that the night would not force him to go back to his nightmare. The nightmare he had trouble waking up from.

Magnus seemed to relax a little at his words and nodded.

"Alright, tomorrow."

Tomorrow would be too soon, Alec knew that, but right now he was just happy that he'd bought some time. Alone time with Magnus.
