So tonights the night I'll try and enjoy the show as much as I enjoy your reviews. So this chapter is more or less a filler chapter not a lot happens I'm telling you that right now, but please don't let that stop you from reading it. So as always I own nothing and please review I love to know what you guys think of my work.
"Patrick Jane!" I didn't wait for him to get out of the car.
"Is there a problem?"
"You call this a cabin?" I was staring at this giant mansion on a private lake; no one would ever confuse this for a cabin.
"Cabin, vacation home. Does it matter what its called?"
"How about castle?"
"It's hardly a castle, it's only one story oh and the loft."
"Is this where we're staying?" Emily jumped into Patrick's arms.
"Do we all get our own room?" Alyssa joined her sister in Patrick's arm.
"No you do not get your own rooms, but you two and both boys get a whole floor to yourself."
"Our own floor!"
"Yep a whole floor with a giant window and a super cool ladder that adults can only come up to help you get out bed and to tuck you in at night."
"So we could spend all day up there with no adults."
"Well you could but then you wouldn't get to go skiing."
"Nice cabin Jane." Cho had pulled his bag out of the back of the car and walked up behind us.
"It's shelter." Patrick grinned, "Go ahead and pick any room, well except the master suite if you don't mind."
"Yeah no problem."
"You girls grab the boys and go ahead and go inside and explore."
"Patrick why didn't you just tell us it was a mansion?"
"Well because strictly speaking it's a vacation home."
"I'm sorry why didn't you tell us it was a vacation home?"
"Because I know how much you hate to be spoiled, but think of it this way, it's not to long before this nice little vacation home is just as much yours and mine."
"This is not a little vacation home, and don't you think it's a little weird that no one's noticed yet."
"Getting anxious are we?"
"No!"
"No I don't think it's weird, because they aren't looking for it give them time."
"We agreed to tell them ourselves though if they don't notice by tonight."
"Yes we did." He smiled and kissed me before pulling back just a little. "So what was that embarrassing topic you ladies were discussing in the car?" I laughed, kissed him and turned to walk away, but before I could get to far I had to call over my shoulder.
"You're the mind reader you tell me."
"I see how it is, a rather unusual response, unless that was part of the conversation. That's very interesting." I had just barely made it to the door when he was right behind me, "Wayne wouldn't happen to be having trouble in the bedroom would he?"
"How did you come to that conclusion?" I turned around and closed the door real quick not wanting to be overheard.
"Oh so I was right?"
"Seriously do you just go around making random guesses and get lucky a lot."
"Nonsense, I just thought of the short list of things that make the mighty Agent Lisbon blush, and then I went through it and eliminated anything that had nothing to do with my ability to read you. So unless you and Grace were planning to rob people of their life savings which I doubt, knowing your moral compass, sex came to the top of the list."
"I suppose you're pretty proud of yourself right now."
"When am I not?"
"Go unload the car."
"Yes ma'am, should I try and mentor Rigsby."
"Don't say anything to Rigsby, if you do so help me I will shoot you where it hurts the most."
"Ouch, but wouldn't that leave you in a tough position to, I mean if you shot me there that might make this a very long marriage for you."
"Oh because you can live without sex."
"I can and I have for nearly ten years, how about you?"
"I can always go elsewhere."
"Ouch."
"Come on I'll help you with the bags." We had barely in made it in the door when Grace was calling from the kitchen.
"Damn Jane, this is all yours?"
"Yes as a matter of fact it is."
"You think you have enough beer?" I smirked.
"I suppose it is a bit excessive, especially if you consider the liquor cabinet above the fridge as well."
"Patrick why?"
"Excuse me."
"You came up here by yourself with all that alcohol, you didn't tell anyone where you were, what if… what if something had happened." Did he really smirk at my concern, this wasn't funny, I've seen bars with less alcohol than this. "This isn't funny you could have died."
"But I didn't did I."
"What were you thinking?"
"It's not going to happen again, I think you all being here is proof of that."
"Oh my God! You wanted something to happen didn't you."
"Teresa!"
"I'm going to go help Wayne and Cho with the kids." Grace snuck out of the room.
"Did you want to die?"
"You know the answer to that Teresa, but you also know I had no intention of doing it myself."
"You came up here hoping to what accidently kill yourself!"
"Teresa…"
"That was your intention wasn't it get so plastered and if that didn't do it, hell maybe you'd be so hung over you'd have a skiing accident."
"Teresa… please."
"It was foolish, reckless, suicidal…"
"I know." He had his hands on my shoulder, looking me in the eyes. "I know what is was, and we can add that to the list of things in my past that I'm not proud of. And I don't need to be lectured by you to know what I did was wrong. I would also like you to understand it's not going to happen again okay. I have to much to live for now. I had nothing then."
"Patrick you've always had me."
"I never thought I could have you, but now that I do there is no way in hell I'm loosing you."
As per usual the minute we started really kissing we were interrupted. "Aunt Reese!...Oh I'll come back later then."
"What do you need?"
"I was just going to ask if we'd be allowed to use that hot tub?"
"Of course you can, that's what it's there for." Patrick grinned arms still around my waist.
"Oh and seriously you're co-workers call themselves detective, it's not like that rock is small."
"Annie don't go there."
"I'm just saying I mean I noticed."
"You were looking." Patrick cut in, "You wanted it to happen."
"Maybe, but I'm just saying her hand was on the steering wheel for two hours it's not like it was hiding."
"Hiding what?" Grace came back into the kitchen, "Did you guys get everything straightened out."
"Yes we did thanks for the concern." Patrick grinned, "No need to worry."
"They're hiding something from you Grace." Annie smirked.
"Annie!"
"Sorry Aunt Reese you weren't going to say anything, they wouldn't know until you're halfway down the aisle."
"Annie!"
"Wait what?" Grace was looking from Annie to Patrick and I, before seeing the ring and with in seconds I'm pretty sure every house on the lake knew, as Grace screamed in excitement.
