Sorry it took so long, I have to say I was suffering from a lack of motivation so in the past week I went back and reread this entire story and I have an immense respect for all of my readers because there are a lot of chapters and you've stayed with me for so long. So here's another one I hope you enjoy as always I love your reviews and I own nothing.
"YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!"
"What happened?!" Rigsby and Cho came running in followed by Alyssa, Emily, William, and Ben.
"Where's Cass?" I stopped everything.
"We set up the collapsible play pen she's in the living room." Rigsby shrugged. "What's going on?"
"THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED!"
"Thank you Grace." Patrick chuckled.
"When did you propose, why didn't you say anything OH MY GOD!"
"You're getting married?" Cho questioned.
"Yes Cho, we're getting married, believe it or not when I asked, she said yes."
"Congratulation guys, that's great." Rigsby gave Patrick a pat on the back.
"Excuse me, when did this happen, how did this happen?"
"Calm down Grace." Patrick laughed, "Why don't we have a drink I'm sure Teresa would love to tell you all about it."
"I would, would I?"
"You know how I love to exaggerate."
"Fine." In a matter of minutes we were sitting in a giant room that could easily fit the whole CBI bullpen but was apparently just a living room. Each with a beer in hand as I amused my small audience with the happenings of Christmas morning. They were a great audience awing at the right time and grinning when the twins explained their very important role in the proposal. I almost thought Annie was going to attack Grace when Grace asked if she could be the maid of honor. I felt I had to interrupt with the idea that they could both be my maids of honor. Of course none of this was what kept my attention. My eyes were on my co-star in this whole proposal tale, he sat back on the couch William crawling on his lap and a beer in hand eyes never leaving me. He seemed enthralled in the story like he had never heard it before let alone been the creator of it. He nodded and smiled appropriately when congratulated but he just looked so happy to be sitting there, just staring at me. What had I done to deserve this man? He was a pain in the ass a lot of the time, but he cooked and cleaned, he was helping me raise kids that weren't even mine to begin with, let alone his. I've always told people that the day Patrick Jane joined us at the CBI my life changed, I just never realized how much. This certainly wasn't the change I was talking about in the beginning either.
"Wait what are we doing here drinking beer? We should be opening a bottle of champagne." Grace interrupted my thoughts. "We are celebrating aren't we?"
"Grace we don't need any, I prefer beer anyway."
"I don't know about champagne but I do have a good collection of wine down in the cellar, of course I assumed we'd save that for dinner." Patrick cut in.
"Really how much more alcohol do you have in this place?"
"That should be it, wait there might be some whiskey in the boat house, but that's from years ago with some guys that I hope you never meet."
"I'm not going to ask."
"Probably a smart choice. What do you say we get to unpacking then hit up the grocery store so I have something to cook dinner with." It only took us a little while to unpack, but it took a lot longer to assure the kids they would have plenty of time throughout the week to play in the snow.
I thought it was bad when I took Jane and the kids shopping try shopping in a group of eleven, with everyone wanting something different. I gave up trying to edit the shopping list it wasn't worth all of the arguments. When it came to unloading the groceries back at the house I don't know if I had ever seen that much junk food. I mean I grew up with three teenage brothers and even then there wasn't this much junk food.
"There is no way we are going to go through all of this in a week." Jane and I were in the kitchen while the team was out in the snow with the kids.
"Ye of little faith." He just laughed, "You forget we will be active all day making us hungrier, and we have Rigsby."
"What can I do to help?"
"Go play with your kids, I can handle this."
"Our kids, and I'm fine in here."
"You should be out there."
"I'd rather enjoy this rare opportunity to have some peace and quiet."
"Oh my dear I plan on making sure you and I get plenty of peace and quiet. I invited plenty of responsible chaperones for a reason."
"And I thought it was because you considered them family."
"Well isn't that what family is for, helping out when needed?"
"I suppose it is."
"Come here." He pulled me close and soon we were cooking dinner his arms around my waist controlling my arms, it was just like when he helped the kids cook, only he was sneaking me kisses on the neck every time he got the chance. Soon dinner was ready on the stove and Patrick and I were laying on the couch in the living room. I will give him this he has excellent taste in couches.
"You know I never asked you in the beginning if you were comfortable being with the kids all the time. I know I worried about you walking out because it became to much, but I never actually asked you how you felt about it."
"Teresa I would do anything for you, you know that." He moved me so I was lying directly on top of him. "I was nervous, I didn't know what it would be like being in the position of raising a child again. I took it day by day, and I'm happy I did it."
"I'm happy you did to." I kissed his lips and his arms were around my waist, hands under my shirt, and then the door burst open.
"My bad." Grace backed out of the room, before I could jump up. Patrick groaned but sat up as well.
"Every time." He just shook his head.
"That's what we get for being on the living room couch."
