Chapter Two

"Well that went well." Atem said sarcastically. His friends and he were resting under a tree in the quart yard during lunch. The other males also seem to have had a tiresome or irksome time showing the girls around yesterday.

"What's going on Atem, you guys look a little aggravated?" Tristan asked as he stopped by the group of four.

"It's all their fault." Akefia growled out pointed at Yugi, Joey, Milak and Rya. The frustration he felt at failing to steal from the girl that looks like a fluffy Buneary that was caught in a Whirlwind, or a Swablu he hadn't completely figured out what Rya looked like more, was clear in his voice.

Tristan looked at where the white haired male pointed and saw the girls. He smiled as he remembered who three of them were. "Aw cool their back!"

He was soon pulled to sit with the boys before he could think to do anything else. "You know them?" Atem asked in a demanding tone. Tristan winced at the pointed stares on himself before he answered.

"Yeah I do, well three of them and so should you, Seto and Akefia. You three were never really nice to them."

"What do you mean?" Seto growled out.

Tristan pointed to Akefia first. "You used to do everything you could to scare Rya. I think you did it to try and toughen her up though. You were actually the most tame in terms of behavior now that I think about it. You even ate lunch with Yugi every few days back when you were around nine."

Akefia thought about it and looked at the short girl. Recalling a tiny mini pharaoh girl with a bright eyes that shined with excitement, games between them that the tiny girl could find a way to win with a mind that was sneaky as his at that age but more iinnocent. He also remembered getting into a brawl with her blonde haired friend." Ah yes little Queen. And now that I take another look at her to friends the Guard and the Scholar I remember now."

"Atem you used to prank Yugi at least twice a day just because it was funny. I wasn't't at all surprised when your mother sent you to therapy and boot camp after finding out you made her school life miserable. Add to the fact that your mom only found out because Joey gave you a shiner and well...you get the picture."

Atem winced, he was a mean kid back then. Maybe that was why two of his friends where thief and a phyco? Anyway he was glad that he did get help.

" Seto you were a real jerk to Joy or Joey as everyone called her. You got into fights so often that you both had assigned detention seats. Most of the time it was just verbal fights but it would turn physical if you two weren't stopped in time. There was this one time when you tried to take away a Totodile that she was trying to play with and you got a shiner, a busted noise and pain in your balls. She on the other hand got a broken arm, stitches on her right hip and a concussion. The teachers never took us on small field trips to that park again after that."

"...That was a girl?!" Seto asked in shock while still somehow keeping the " I am the boss' aura.

"Duh, did you ever listen when the teachers did role call. They always called Joey by her real name, Joy?"

Tristan blinked when he suddenly realized something. "Hey where did Marik go?"

"Malik!" Marik's voice shouted out making the other boys turn their heads to see their wayward friend near his female look alike. "I want to battle with you after school!" He grabbed her hand and got on one nee. His friends twitched and looked on with slight horror at the seen he was making. Ra damn his lack of social understanding. He looked like he was asking the girl to marry him. They really needed to take more of their free time to fix some of the social misunderstandings he has due to growing up underground. His siblings were more normal but they too had some social misunderstandings that they don't know about themselves.

"We're really sorry about that! He can be a bit hyper sometimes!" Atem said as he pulled his friend away with Akefia's help while Tristan and Seto pretended not to know the sandy haired Egyptian teen.

"Well that was rude. They took him away before I could say yes to his challenge." Malik said with a pout.

Joy nodded. "Yep, every battle is a chance for our Pokemon to grow stronger."

Yugi and Rya who knew why the other boys took Malik away where torn between three feelings. 1) Exasperation at their sisters in all but bloods lack of social understanding and 2) amusement for that same reason.

"Well I have a challenge of my own to face." Joy said with a sigh."Moneybags is in my cooking class and asighed to be my partner for the rest of the year. He is the worst cook I'be ever seen."

"How bad is he ?" Rya asked.

"..."

"..."

"You didn't put anything in the water did you?"

"...No."

"...Then how come the waters black?! You were only supposed to put the water on to boil!"

"..."

"...Whoa, He's worst then Malik." Yugi said in amazement. Rya was stunned. It was common knowledge in their group that Malik was a bad cook but now they found someone worse then her. She could boil water just fine. Malik was just nodding her head in stunned agreement.

It was after school when Milak saw her chance. "Marik I want that battle!" said yelled taking off after the spiky haired teen. Marik paused mid-step and turned to grin. Marik then lead Malik to an open area near the school.

"Remember Malik, our ride to work will be here soon so the battle will have to be short!" Yugi said from the sidelines...and sitting on Joey's shoulders. Joey took to carrying her smaller friends around when she was bored and wanted to train her body when she had no weights.

"Fine by me! Go Wevile!" Marik said tossing out a poke ball. The poke ball opened to release a pokemon that stood on two legs, it had sharp claws for hands. Its ears were long and red, had a red tail, 'collar' and 'crown'.

"Wow never pictured you with an ice type. Then again I'm not who should talk since I have a Sneasal myself." Malik said.

Marik shrugged, "My sister has a job that requires us to travel a lot. Met this guy while he was trying to graffiti a building. We went panking together and decided to stay together when my siblings came to get me from Officer Jenny's office."

"Better then my story. Yugi over there dragged me out and told me that if I wanted her to go to that haunted abandoned mansion in the mountains than I would have to befriend an ice type."

"And I regret saying that since I did have to go." Yugi shouted.

"Oh come on it wasn't that bad." Joey said.

"We were trapped in there for twelve hours! And the ghost types made sure to let us know that we knew that they didn't want us there!" Rya huffed.

"Details." Malik waved off. "Go Flareon!" The fox like pokemon materlized onto the field and took a ready stance.

"Weavile use Quick Attack!" The ice and dark type shot forward in a boost of speed, hitting the fire type in the side.

"Smog!" Malik called out and Flareon breathe out a cloud of toxic gas from his mouth. Weavile backed up as quick as he could but Malik had another idea. "Flamethrower!" the smog was quickly consumed by a flame the spread out and slightly burned Weavile.

"Weavile Rain Dance!" Malik twitched slightly at Marik's order because not only did it give him the slight advantage but it was needed to stop some of the grass that was on fire. Flareon twitched at getting wet but at least it wasn't a full Water Pulse to the face this time. "Night Slash"

"Quick Attack Flareon!" Malik called out. Flareon sprang forward and a claw of dark energy was aimed straight at the fire type...

"What the-"

"Ra dang it big brother! Really!" Malik yelled out as both pokemon couldn't battle anymore. Flareon was struggling to get his paws back on the ground and Weavile's feet where capture in the battle fields grass. "Dang Espeon knowing Grass Knot and Confusion!"

"We have to go Malik." a voice called out from a near by van.

Flareon was set on the ground and soon Malik was the on floating. Only she was being pulled words the van.

"See you some other time Marik!" Yugi said with a wave as the other girls went to the van. Marik grinned as the van went away. He now had more of an excuse to train and battle the girl again. To bad that island challenge thing was coming up soon. He had to go with his siblings to this new tomb that was in an odd place in Egypt, he was keeping his ticket though.

End Chapter. Here is a preview of the next chapter to the Island battles though:

Marik grumbled as he waited to see his friends off. He was leaning against some crates. He felt a hand suddenly clamp down on his shoulder and whipped his head around to see Malik grasping his shoulder. City sat on the girl's shoulder quietly while Malik's looked extremely cloudy. Then when she opened her mouth a spoke he got goosebumps.

"The Pharaoh and his court shall slash with the the one who bares the cursed eye. But with the members of Warlord' s land the truth shall be forgotten and the Dark One shall have victory when the time of reckoning comes." Malik eyes come back into focus somewhat and she lets go of Mirak. "Huh, Mirak? Wasn't I just standing behind my brother?" She looks both sleepy and a bit ill. Marik did what first popped into his head.

"Ishizu!"
