~*Rin P.O.V.*~

Rin couldn't believe it. Having been on Sesshomaru's lap she could hear the voice on the phone 'how could my step-dad know where I've been?' Rin thought to herself. She heard his sickening laugh that always made her stomach churn. Her body began to tremble. She knew Sesshomaru could sense her fear, but she didn't care at the moment.

When she looked up at Sesshomaru she saw there was raw anger that shown in his eyes. He put his phone up in his pocket and sighed. 'Could I really be that much of a burden on him? How could I just accept his help and drag him into this like nothing. He doesn't deserve this.' Rin looked down at her lap and spoke, "I'm sorry Sesshomaru maybe it would be best if I were to leave. I know you have a lot to deal with at work and having to try and live up to expectations. I don't want to ruin any opportunities you may have coming your way and-" She was then startled by Sesshomaru's finger on her lips. His hand then moved to her cheeks to wipe away her tears. "Don't say such silly things." Was his only response and he then captured her lips in a soft slow kiss. To Rin this kiss said so much more than any words he could've said.

She felt her heart hurt from so much love she just had never felt before. She thought that her heart was going to burst out of her chest. "Ok, but only for now" she told him as she smiled and looked into his beautiful golden eyes.

Just then Kagome walked into the room. "Hey Kagome, do you think you could help me with something?" Rin asked with pure excitement in her voice and her eyes. She was bouncing on Sesshomaru's lap. "Um…sure. What do you need help with?" she said unsure at first.

Rin didn't answer, she gave Sesshomaru a chastise kiss on the lips and jumped off his lap. She grabbed Kagome's hand and ran up the stairs to her room. As soon as Rin closed the door she looked at Kagome with pleading eyes. "Please help me get ready for my date tonight. PLEASE!?" Kagome then looked at Rin with happiness. "Of course I will help you. Oh my gosh I'm going to make you look so good, Sess is going to have trouble keeping his hands off of you! I suppose we are talking about Sesshomaru right?"

"Of course we are! Who else would I be talking about?" Rin said with a bright blush across her face.

"I know. I just wanted to make you blush" Kagome said trying not to laugh at her since she went a darker shade of red.

"Oh my kami! What am I going to do? What time do I have to be ready? Where will he be taking me? This is so stressful! I've never had to do this before." Rin started rambling on in a panic. "It's ok Rin. He will want to leave by 7, that's usually the time things take place, and I will probably be at a very nice restaurant. If I know my Tenseiga men well he will without a doubt spoil you rotten." Kagome answered while grabbing a dress off the hanger with a giggle. And then that's when the last statement hit her full force. "Wait? You've never been out on a date before? It's just your so pretty I thought surly you have had your share of guys on your life." Rin just sat on her bed messing with the bottom of her blouse. "No, I've never really had the opportunity" Rin said a bit sadly. 'I've always thought I would date a bit and have a normal teenager's life. Date a bit eventually get married and have a family. Have a nasty break-up or two, claim to know heartbreak. Hell he even stole my first kiss. I have nothing to offer Sesshomaru. Here he is a powerful demon, the best looking guy in Japan, and the richest. Yet I have nothing to my name I can't give him my first kiss or even myself. I'm soiled. A poor, unworthy, trashy, nothing of a girl.' And that's when she started to remember a certain thing her step-father would tell her. You're a good for nothing slut. Just to get out of here you would grab the first man you see. And probably a rich one at the just like the gold digging whore you are. And now she was starting to believe those very words he used to say to her. In her heart she knew he was wrong and he just wanted to get under her skin. She knew she was falling in love with this demon. She didn't care about his money or his title. But her mind was racing at a million miles per hour. Could her step-father be right? No, he couldn't be. I love him for who he is. Not for what he has.

"RIN!" she then looked up and saw a very worried Sesshomaru in her face "What's the matter? Why do you cry?" Rin then felt her face and saw her cheeks were soaked from her tears. "How did you know?" Rin asked confused. Her room was a far ways from the living room "I'm sorry Rin it's just that one moment we were talking and the next you weren't answering me and you had a lost look in your eyes. You were crying so I tried to get your attention but you still didn't respond so I called Sesshomaru worried."

"What was wrong Rin?" Sesshomaru asked. Not wanting to worry him she calmly told him, "Nothing. I just had a memory flashback is all. Nothing to worry about" 'that wasn't a lie' Rin thought to herself.

~*Sess P.O.V*~

After Rin left with Kagome Inuyasha came into the room. "So tell me sir fluffy ass, what exactly is she to you? I see how you look at her. She's the one isn't she?" Inuyasha said with a very smug look on his face. "I don't know what you're talking about" Sesshomaru said getting up from the couch. "Us dog demons know when we find our mates. I may only be a half-demon but I knew right away."

"Why don't you just mind your own damned business Inuyasha" 'Damn that Inuyasha. I think she may be the one, but there's still the possibility she may not want to be my mate. She's young and may want her own way in life.' Sesshomaru thought to himself. "Feh, whatever. Just don't hurt her, Kami knows she's been through enough." And with that he walked out of the room. Sesshomaru was about to go the barn to visit an old friend of his when he heard Kagome call him. He wouldn't have run as fast as he did had she not sounded panicky. When he got to Rin room he saw Kagome had a look of fear on her face. "I don't know what's wrong. We were talking and now she won't respond."

When he kneeled down he saw the lost look in her eyes and she was crying. He grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her a little and nothing. He shook her a little harder and called out to her, "RIN!" then she blinked and came back. "What's the matter? Why do you cry?" He asked her.

He would never let anyone know, but he was worried. 'Could it have to do with her step-fathers call earlier? Could she be having second thoughts on being with me?

At that last thought his heart felt as though it were stabbed. 'Am I really that worried she will reject me?'

She asked how he knew she was crying and that she was troubled. Then Kagome told her how she had called for me.

'I have never felt this before. The things this girl does to me.

She said it was a memory flashback. No doubt about her step-father. But what? She hasn't exactly told me what she had to endure with him. By what we know it's been physical and sexual abuse. No doubt there could've been emotional abuse as well.' he thought to himself angrily. "Be ready by 7" is all he told Rin and he left. He could feel his inner demons anger rising.

He will pay

'We both agree with that statement'

He walked over to the stables as he had planned to earlier. At the barn the workers were working. All of his stallions were being fed at this time. He went to the last stable and grabbed the saddle that was hanging next to the door.

When he opened the door he saw his old friend curled on the ground sound asleep, Ah-Un his two headed dragon. He wore a muzzle for he doesn't like or listen to anyone except for Sesshomaru. "How are you doing my old friend?" Sesshomaru asked Au-Un. Hearing his master's voice Ah-Un jumped up happily and went to greet Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru then saddled Ah-Un and walked him out of the barn and commanded him to take off.

They took off into the depths of the forest. Ah-Un already knew where to go for they always went to the same spot. Au-Un could feel his master's anger rolling off of him in rolls. None the less Ah-Un was happy to be out of that cramped space.

When they landed Sesshomaru took off the muzzle from Ah-Un and let him graze for a while.

Sesshomaru needed to blow off some steam. He needed to relieve some of his anger. He turned around and punched a tree. If he kept getting angry like this he was going to run out of trees.

He then picked up the scent of another demon. One who lived there in the forest, refusing to live along with humans. Sesshomaru flexed his claws and waited for the demon to come to him. When the demon finally emerged Sesshomaru saw it was a lowly spider demon. "Hmmmm I haven't had a tasty meal in a while. You should be tasty!" the spider demon said as he licked his lips. 'The fool' Sesshomaru thought. As he finished that thought the spider demon jumped up and attacked.
