The cold water contrasted the warm blood that was leaving the vampire. No matter how cold blooded the vampires could be, the vampire that he loved was not as cold as he would claimed, especially when it was right on his hands. Kazuhiko washed his hands rapidly and thoroughly. His head was spinning quickly as he was not sure what he should do, though the first step was to closed the wound and stopped the blood leaking out. He looked a t the monster, now pretending as the falling angel, as he dried his hands. "Would you help? " he questioned.

The monster looked amused as he was questioned. "Depends." He answered crisply. "What you want me to do?"

"Saline," the man said. "An-chan needs saline, can you grab the solution from the dungeon?"

"Okay," the monster shrugged, still in an elegant posture, and left.

The once Nidaime had a quick change and washed his hands without questions. "Let me help," he said to the older man. "I am not as good as my niisan, but I have trained for medical pratice."

Kazuhiko sighted softly, "if I don't have you here, who else I'll have?" He then added, "if, say if Madara comes in, please stop him right away as I doubt I have the strength to do so."

"Of course," the younger man replied, unexpected of Kazuhiko's word, "it's my duty, my pleasure to take care of him." He turned, facing the vampire assistant, and bowed in a small angle. "Thank you for taking him these years and please accept my apology for his wrong doing."

"I won't accept your apology, Tobirama-kun," Kazuhiko said as he picked up the needle to sanitise. "He has done nothing wrong and that An-chan," he looked at the vampire that was lying dead on the table, "he has made the choice."

Tobirama did not say a word and resumed his task. They have made a good progress and blood stopped before the situation turned sour. The monster delivered the saline solution and started the injection without a word from Kazuhiko. All three of them worked in silence, as they were, expect the monster, observing any living signals from the vampire.

Yet something wasn't right, as a strange chill luring around Kazuhiko's spine. There were only few occasions that he ever felt this way before. There was once when his aniki on his deathbed and two occasions when An was in a life-dead situation like now. "Check An-chan's iris," he said to Tobirama who was nearest.

Tobirama complied and slid opened the eyelids with his thumbs. From the darkest blue, the iris reacted to the light and turned into the ruby-red. As the men relieved, but tension increased, as the crimson fade into a baby pink. Kazuhiko's face turned pale as the redness fade. He dropped his head down to the vampire's chest to check for heartbeat. The heartbeat was there, no matter how slowly it was, it was still there; and it's usual for vampire to beat slowly. His head was spinning as he wondered what he has done wrong. The body in front of him must have been the vampire as he has been the vampire's physician for all these years. He checked the body as a medical professional and he has also explored the body as the vampire's lover. Every inch of the pale skin… every muscle.. he knew them so well… Nonetheless, thinking backwards, he should have check the iris first, his concern has disturbed his usual calmness. He held his hands by the head and tried to get access to the vampire's mind palace. He managed to get in relatively easy, which only increased his concern. The gate locked tightly and small, dim light twinkled from the towers of the castle. Even though he could not get, nor he would have the intention to break in, he knew that there was no one. Thinking about the hour that just pasted, and he knew that there would be one person that know something behind.

He withdrew his thoughts and pulled the scroll that he always carried around in the back pouch. He drew out his silver katana and pointed at the monster. "My instinct tells me that you know what had happened," he stated.

The monster fade a smile that his master normally displayed, in a cunning manner. "yes, he wasn't there, was he? Medusa knocked him out of his mind palace. At least you have salvaged his body, his soul would be able to back to this body sometime," he smirked as he added, "at least he has a place to go back."

Kazuhiko lowered his katana as he could not deny; and possibly it was the most logical reason to explain why the vampire was not responding to his blood, as accidentally, he has cut his finger during the operation. He picked up the vampire in a bridal way and approached the bathroom. Both of them needed a wash, and Kazuhiko wanted to stay away from the others so that he could think again.

Naurto closed the door behind him softly. It has been the third day since they invited the 9 nine-tailed to the mountain that the leader of the Kitsune stayed. His great-grand uncle did not leave the room since then, after he took the vampire leader out from the medical room. The vampire remained unconscious, looking like a sleeping beauty. He felt powerless as he delivered the meals for the older man everyday. His vampire lover woke up, though remained asleep after a short while, but at least he woke up few hours a day and getting better. Having a large hole in your body was never a good thing at all, especially when you have lived along with such monster for 300 years. But, at least Kakashi was getting better day by day. He sighed softly as he returned the tray of semi-eaten food back to kitchen. He never felt that his great grand-uncle has been worn out by time, even though the said man looked more familiar as he has removed his disguise, revealing his true golden hair and azure eyes. Yet, his eyes were no longer the ocean blue, but the dark blue from the deepest part of the ocean. The deep sleep of the vampire has simply aged him.

The only relief that he had now was that Kakashi has not have the time to ask about his aniki. He had seen the mess that Madara had created when he saw the sleeping vampire, and that he did not want to constraint his lover like Tobirama has done.

That's call love, he supposed. He pressed his left chest tightly as he felt bereaved, his memories echoing in his head. The times when he left his lover alone because of his death has simply saddened his mind.

Author's Note

Typing sad chapters always give me heavy hearts but then I somehow love the melancholy behind the sad words. =.=/ Nonetheless, I hope everyone who has read this had enjoyed their time. lol

Prescripto13: if Medusa was not single minded, I just felt that she was not as mysterious, yet innocent as she was in the chapters and that somehow, being in love with just one person would make her story more tragic?! Nonetheless, glad to hear that you found the twists interesting *grin*
