The vampire placed the bag of blood between his palms to feel the liquid. He nodded at the pug as he doubted any human would have know that he would prefer to drink in a colder temperature than the human body temperature if it has to come in a pack.
"So… why you are here?" the silver haired ex-shinobi asked as soon as the vampire glug down the last pack of blood. "
"I did not know why, to be honest, Kakashi-kun," An replied crisply. "I seemed to have time travelled, into a parallel universe."
"Making such excuse would get you nowhere, Sasaki-san. If you don't manage to convince me, you would leave me no choice, but send you to T&I for further investigation."
"Ah.. I see," An shrugged. "To Ibiki-kun…" He noticed where he has landed as soon as he saw the faces of the rock, as well as the dog's badges. Even he did not know how long he would stuck here, he may as well gain a good hand from Kakashi first, since he would have known his personality well enough. "But I did not tell lies, nor hiding any important truth." He looked around, feeling the presence of Tsuki, as he would not expecting to see Kazuhiko here in this world. "The time zone that I belonged to… There was no hidden village of the Konoha, but only the Konoha Exorcist Unit of the Church."
"Any proves?"
"Not with me," the vampire rolled his eyes. " Of course I would not have any. I am no priest, I of course don't have prove of the so called Church. But… if you have taken away my katana, then you would have know it by your heart. You know what the presence of Tsuki has brought along."
Kakashi was relieved his face was still covered with his mask. He was relieved. The vampire was right. When they examined the vampire's belonging, he felt different when he hold the sword. It felt so warm and familiar. It reminded him of his dearest father, Sakumo.
"What the Hatake did not know, not just your father, Sakumo, but a few Hatake men approached us, for power or your clan's continuity, the blood of Hatake has mutated, growing similar to the blood that flows within me, the ancient blood of the Sasaki. It's not I have the similar chakra signature, but you have my signature in you. Every single Hatake walks on this worldl"
Kakashi remained in silence as he did not know how to reject the vampire's word, not especially he knew it too well that he felt much better after holding the katana. Normally he would not have enough energy to stay awake for so long, put alongside observing the vampire as he slept. The warmth that he could name it as family, the bondage of blood.
"I guess I don't need to explain to you, do I?" said An softly, as he remembered the condition that Kakshi was at, just by observing. Not just one foot into the coffin, but almost half of the body already in the coffin. The man was in his last months, which was a shame as he missed his protégé who has spent 400 years as a member of Sasaki.
Kakashi cleared his throat, "I will talk to the Hokage in the evening when he has time. Meanwhile, you are staying here with me. I remind you that the dogs are keeping an eye on you every seconds. I would not pull any tricks if I were you."
"No worries, I have no where to go anyway, free food free shelter, I might as well stay here."
"Tch, I have met untalented leaders, arrogant leaders, but none of them are so slothful as you are."
"We are vampires, after all. I got all the time to spend when you humans are squeezing the best out of it." An lie back as the silver chain tired him down. He looked at the ceiling, without turning, "the special agent must be tired, drawing outside all day. Why don't you invite him to come in?"
The dogs looked at each other, waiting for Kakashi's instruction. Kakashi hesitated, but nodded softly at Pakkun. The pug dashed out and only come back on the shoulder of the masked man.
"Kakashi-san," the masked raven addressed. "Did I interrupt your rest?"
Kakashi raised his brow when he saw who the ANBU agent was. "Please inform your taicho and Hokage that I am not that weak. There is no necessity to waste a grade A agent on me."
The agent shook his head softly, "that's not true, Kakashi senpai. I volunteered to station for you, as I cared, so as everyone in the team. Yamato taicho took the shift a few times, but not as often, as he said that he wasn't much younger than senpai, getting a bit tiring to do a full shift."
"Did he? Tenzo.. he.." Kakashi murmured to himself softly. "Nonetheless," he stated, "since this Sasaki-san wanted your company, you may as well stationed here instead of the bright sun outside."
"Hai," the raven sat on the sofa by the end of the beds, with his back straight. The three of them talked briefly as silence filled in the gaps between conversations. Kakashi felt that after letting the vampire to talk to Sai helped him to figure out. It was more convincing that the vampire lived in a different, alternative world. He met various people, gifted or not, none could have predict Sai's reactions better than the vampire did, unless he has spent a lot of time with him. He could not imagine, though, if on the other world, that either Sai or himself, or actually both, which sounded more logical, that they were vampires, he could not imagine immortality would be like as he was a dying man. Sakura did not need to tell, but he knew it clearly. The days that he has with his love would be limited, at least there were a few tasks that he could still do.
The atmosphere warmed as they talked for longer. Sai only stood up as the sun was setting. "It's my shift over, Kakashi-senpai." He bowed softly and turned to the vampire, "nice to talk to you, Sasaki-san." And disappeared.
