Five MoonClan cats looked at the swelled river with worry. Its waters had flowed well passed the banks and reeds, now trespassing into forest area.

"This is bad. If the water goes much farther, it will reach camp." Ruinheart commented. He stepped back from the water that lapped at his paws.

"Yeah, and it's still rising." Bramblefoot meowed with concern.

It was raining, though not as heavy as the previous night. Despite that, the river still seemed to take advantage of the falling curse. Slowly and menacingly, it rose and spread out further into MoonClan's territory.

Creekpaw didn't like it one bit. This was not what he was expecting on this patrol. He'd never seen something like this, and he wondered if the older cats had.

"So, the clan has to know, right? To be ready if the flood goes far enough?" Foxpaw asked.

Littlefox nodded, "Of course."

Ruinheart turned away from the water after a short moment, "Yes, we must. But after we finish the patrol. We still have a duty to take care of."

The other cats proceeded to follow the gray and white tom. But even as they did, they remained half-focused on the water. Especially the apprentices.

"What do you think will happen if the water reaches camp?" Foxpaw asked Creekpaw quietly.

"I don't know. I just hope Copperstar will have a plan. Some cats won't be able to swim away easily." Creekpaw replied.

He was referring to Sorrelflight and Snowfeather. Sorrelflight because of her age and now permanent limp; and Snowfeather because of an injury that was the result of a boarder skirmish.

"No worries! We can help them! We're strong enough!" the brown tabby meowed with confidence.

Bramblefoot, who had heard the conversation, decided to speak up.

"You two might be strong, but you may not be able to do much. In a lot of scenarios, you'd end up drowning as well," he mewed, but added, "But I'm sure we'll all be safe before a flooding can happen. Copperstar is smart enough to know not to take chances."

"Still, if anyone needs help, I'm there!" Foxpaw mewed, undeterred.

Creekpaw head-butted his adoptive brother good-naturedly. He couldn't help but admire that stubbornness from time-to-time.

Bramblefoot seemed to think the same, as he mrrow-ed with a chuckle.

"Good. The clan needs headstrong cats." The tabby meowed. At that, Foxpaw raised his chin a bit, happy to be praised by his mentor.

Creekpaw was also pleased. Some cats didn't exactly favor Foxpaw because of his background, which he didn't like. To see how easily Bramblefoot accepted him as an apprentice made Creekpaw happy.

"Alright, we can head back now." The three heard Ruinheart meow.

By the next day, Creekpaw was filled with excitement.

Copperstar, after having seen the river for himself, decided that the clan needed to move to higher ground.

So, even with the heavy rain, Creekpaw was in high spirits. As were Foxpaw and Mottlepaw, who couldn't hide it as easily as Creekpaw could. The two of them bounced slightly as they walked with the clan.

Creekpaw watched them with amusement for a bit. Mottlepaw was clearly agitating Snowfeather, whom was walking carefully behind her apprentice. Snowfeather's left forepaw stood out from her white fur, with pink skin that showed angrily.

"Mottlepaw, how about you come over here, next to me?" Creekpaw heard his mother call. Obliviously, the brindle she-cat did so.

Creekpaw chuckled at Snowfeather's obvious relief. He knew that the white warrior didn't like to snap at young cats.

"I wonder where we're going." Ashwing mewed from beside him.

"Probably not somewhere too far. We can't stay from camp forever, right?" Creekpaw asked. It was rhetorical, but he did have a bit seriousness into it. This move had to be temporary, since a flood was.

Ashwing nodded, "Yeah, you're right."

But now Creekpaw was really thinking. If Copperstar thought it was necessary, he could permanently move camp. And that was if the leader thought another flood was inevitable.

Though it was something that wasn't too bad to most, Creekpaw was upset by it. He honestly loved the clan's camp, and it'd be hard to let go.

He suddenly lost his good mood and continuously thought about it throughout the rest of the trip.
