Chapter 10:First Lesson

"Are you listening to me?"

"Huh? What?"

He's grunting and staring at me with anger. I just look at him and start to yawn. He grunts even louder than before.

"It's better that you give me some practice rather than speeches." I say.

He grunts again but now he shows some nerves on his face. I look at him with shining eyes; hoping that he will show me how to use that magic or what he calls enchantment. I don't afraid with his angry face, for me it looks like a red balloon ready to explode anytime. It's very funny to imagining his face explodes.

"Hey! You will not become a good enchanter if you don't listen to my explanation."

"Nah! It won't happen to me. Just hurry and show me how to enchant?"

He's pouting at me and slams other box with number 20.

"Why you must do this again!?"

"We need something to do the practice."

"Yeah, but why Chitose's boxes again?!"

He shrugs and it's mean that he doesn't has any reason for doing that. I roll my eyes and feel sorry for the boxes. Sorry boxes and don't blame me, just blame that little brat!

He collects the content of the box. It's not only just books, it has a camera now. I remember it from a book that Toya showed to me yesterday. It looks alike with Chitose's. And this is what I call real treasure. I pick the camera and inspect it with curiosity.

"What are you doing?"

"Look! It's a camera, Toya."

"Put it down. It's not yours."

Self-centered boy! I won't do as you told, the books also aren't yours either!

Toya puts the books and the pieces of the broken box altogether in one place. He then, sits in front of the broken box he just made and I follow him to sit beside him. Boy, the pieces are more horrible than number 19. It broke to tinier pieces that you can't imagine that it was once a box. Man, what will Chitose say about this if she sees this? Maybe she'll fall unconscious.

"First, you need to concentrate to collect ether from your body. For your important information enchanting is power to create. " he starts to explain, but I don't get it what he talks about.

"Umm…"

"I need to concentrate."

"Excuse me! But I don't really know what this ether is. Would you be nice to explain it to me?"

He sighs and he explains what is ether to me. But I'd rather call it lecture more than simple explanations. My head's hurt to hear his explanation, I keep my eyes focus on him so he doesn't know that my mind is actually wandering somewhere beyond my imagination.

I should know that if I tell him to explain something he will do some special lecture for me. I WILL not tell him to explain anything to me again. And how many times he uses that "If I remember correctly…"? It's so annoying! I have to think an idea to shut his mouth.

"Yes, yes, if you remember correctly… but what if not? You should prove it. Come on!"

He's glaring at me, he must be pissed off. I feel great to see this. Toya stops his speech and start to concentrate to collect ether as he told before. And as I guess, his hands are glowing again. He's approaching the broken box and voilà! The box returns to his normal shape. I can't believe on what I see, but I've seen it twice, so it must be the power of enchantment. Cool!

"Do you want to try?" ask Toya.

"Absolutely YES!"

I will show you what Atsuma's Power is.

"Then I'll drop another box..."

"Wai..."

BAM! That's the end of box number 21. As usual I check the content of the box. This time, there's a lot of photo album. I pick one of those and start to open it randomly.

"Hey, hurry up! Chitose will be home any time." Says Toya.

Right, I must hurry. I'll look at this photo album later. Now what I need to do is concentrating. Concentrate...

"HUAAA!"

I touch the pieces with my glowing right hand. I feel the strong energy flowing through my arm. Is this my enchantment power? My arm's hurt and it makes my body tremble. I try to pull my hand off, but the energy absorbs me.

"Atsuma!"

I hear Toya's calling my name several times. His voice seems very nervous. I couldn't answer his calling, yet I heard another voice.

'Proceed...'

After hearing the voice, I feel the force become stronger. The voice keeps telling me to proceed. My head's hurt, too much pressure. I need to stop this! NOW!

I force myself to push my body aside. It's hard but I manage to free myself. My breath is so heavy and I feel my blood's dripping on my right hand. I don't feel any hurt from my hand, instead I feel sick.

"God! Atsuma, are you alright?" Toya's voice seems more nervous than before.

I want to reply it with, 'I'm fine', but I'm too weak to speak. I'm forcing a little smile for him, to tell him that I'm fine.

"We must stop the bleeding! Hurry!"

I almost lose my consciousness as Toya drags my left hand. I don't know where he drags me to; I don't really care. Just let me close my eyes for a moment.
