Chapter 19:Sebastian
Sun strikes through my window. It's morning already. I hardly can sleep yesterday. After what did happen last night, I even couldn't close my eyes. When it nearly morning, finally I could close my eyes and slept for two to three hours perhaps.
I stretch my body, it feels sore. But what can I do? I know I need some more sleep, but I need to help Chitose with the house chores. I lazily wake from my bed and stretch my body again.
In the kitchen, I only see Chitose alone. Toya hasn't wake up yet, maybe he had same experience as mine last night.
"Morning, Chitose."
Chitose turns around to greet me," Morning, Atsuma. Sleep well?"
I scratch my head, and just say, "Nah…"
Chitose open her eyes wider, "Did you not?"
I take a deep breath and answer her question, "Well, I can't say I didn't. I just didn't have long enough sleep."
Chitose laugh, "You really like sleeping, don't you Atsuma?"
My face turns red. I feel embarrassed, Chitose thinks me as a lazy bump.
"Atsuma, can you wake Toya up? Breakfast's ready."
I nod and go to Toya's front door. Then I knock it. "Toya, are you awake?"
Silence replies me. I think he hasn't wake up yet. So I knock it again. "Hey, Toya. Breakfast is ready. Come on, get up."
It's not silence that replies me this time. It's a heavy tumble sound and an "Ouch!" from inside. "I'm awake." Toya says with angry tone on his voice.
I chuckle and ask him, "Did you fall from your bed?"
"Shut up!" it's an irritating tone. "Tell Chitose I'll be ready on 10 minutes."
I leave him, but I still can hear several ouch-ing from inside his room and it makes me chuckle even harder.
Breakfast time, everything looks normal. We laugh and chattering, like a happy family always do. As I can say, Chitose smile is rather gloomy compared the one in my dream. I wish to see those smiles and laughs every day.
"Well, I must go to somewhere after breakfast. You two, take care the house, Ok?" Chitose says.
My heart skips a beat. Is she really going to Yokohama like she talked to Prim Rose last night?
"Where are you going?" Toya asks, there's an emphasis in his tone.
"I want to meet my friend. He and I haven't been made any contact since our graduation." She replies.
"How do you contact him?" Toya's asking like a detective in one of Chitose's novel.
"I did not, he did. He sent me a Golem and told me to come to Yokohama City. He'll send another golem to pick me." She says it very convincing, but we know she's lying. Why Chitose doesn't want tell us the truth?
Toya stops answering. Perhaps he's giving up.
"Oops, look at the time. I should be preparing by now." She takes the plates and put them into the sink.
"I'll help you, Chitose. You go prepare." I say.
"Thank you, Atsuma." She smiles really happily, but not as happy as on my dream.
She runs to her room. I go to the sink and start washing the dishes.
"Why are you helping her?" protests Toya.
"She's in hurry."
"Yeah, you're right. I'll help you." He climbs to the small chair Chitose prepare for us when we help her. "Actually I want to trick her till accidentally tells us the truth."
"Whoa, Toya. You sound very evil."
"Do I? You don't know my feeling. I know Chitose is keeping secrets from the first time I came here." He wipes the plates.
"Yeah, but it's private."
"I know. But wouldn't you want to go somewhere place better? Like Yokohama City?"
His sentence hits my heart. He always knows what my answer is. I do really want to go to Yokohama. I know your feeling Toya, but still… It's Chitose's life.
Not too long, Chitose comes out. She's wearing a formal clothes and she looks like a professor, a very intellectual professor.
"Why so formal?" Toya asks.
"Ah, because we will go to our old university."
"Is that a reunion?" asks Toya again.
"No, we just want to spend some times in the university and we certainly will meet some teachers so we need formal clothes." Says Chitose.
Again, Toya falls silent. A minute later, we can hear someone is knocking the front door. Chitose hurriedly combs her long hair and says, "Coming."
She then hurriedly opens the door. In front the door stands a golem. It's Sebastian! He bows deeply and talks, "My apologies for being late. My master is already waiting for you in Yokohama, Ms. Chitose."
"Ah, you didn't come late, Sebastian. I'm the one that should apologies to you to come to such lousy place." She bows. "Sebastian, could you wait for me for a moment? I haven't completely prepared yet. I'm sorry. And please come in. It must be freezing outside, you must keep your machines warm."
Sebastian bows again and thanked Chitose. It's the first time I see Golem in real life. His body glows with white light and it's really cool!
"Please, do have a sit here."
He sits on the sofa we usually sit. To see a Golem this close, makes me want to jump. I really want to touch him. Toya's blue eyes shine like the clear sky. I know he also feel excited.
"Atsuma, Toya, this is a Golem. He won't hurt you, so don't be scared."
Both of us nod. We don't scared of course, we're excited. As Chitose leaves to her room, we approach the Golem. Sebastian looks at us with blank stare.
"Sebastian-san, you're so cool!" I say.
"Thank you, Young Master."
Young Master? Is he referring that to me? To be called by Young Master, it's a bit weird. I just want to be his friend, I'd glad if he calls me by my name.
"Sebastian-san, you can call me by my name. My name is Atsuma. Nice to meet you."
"Stupid." Toya says to me. "Sebastian-san is a Golem. It programmed to only receive his master's order. You're not his master, so he won't obey you."
"Oh…" I let out my disappointed sigh.
"So, Sebastian-san, who is your master?" Toya asks.
"You don't know who his master is." I tell Toya.
"Hmph! You're wrong, I stole Chitose's year book when you accompanied me back then in the warehouse." He smiles proudly. "So, Sebastian-san, who is your master?" He asks again with the same question.
"…Seiji-san."
Se…i…ji? Toya's Older Brother?! The same as Chitose's boyfriend?! It can't be!
Toya's himself is surprised more than I. This problem seems more complex than we think of it.
