Chapter 21:The Golem Cell

It seems that I fainted for a moment. When I woke up, I was in a place that also looks familiar to me. It still Sage's Tower, but I don't know where exactly it is.

"Seiji, looks like the cell absorbs ether. Careful." Sounds like Chitose's voice.

"Yeah, I know." A man's voice comes from nearby, I bet it must be Chitose's boyfriend, Seiji.

I follow the sounds that they make. It's not hard to find them, because there's only one room that has the lights on. There, I can see what they are doing, researching. The one that distract my attention is the thing on the table. It's glowing, like Sebastian, the Golem that I saw the other day. Is that the Golem's cell that they talked earlier?

I approach the table. They can't see me, I'm invisible in this dream or Chitose's past. I know it isn't good to want to know what other people business is, but the voice calls me to do this. So, well, here I am.

"It must be the Fourth Devil Golem, Chitose."

"I think so too, but how did Sage get the cell?" Chitose rubs her chin.

"Well, let's ask her."

Seiji is really happy with the discovery, he grabs Chitose's hand and drags her upstairs. I'm also rushing my feet to catch them. As we arrive in the upstairs, Sage is nowhere to be found.

"Kenta, wait!" Sage rashly chases Kenta.

Kenta bumps into Seiji.

"Are you alright?" Asks Seiji.

"I'm sorry for this child." says Sage. She pulls Kenta next to her, Kenta hugs Sage's right leg.

"Your son?" Asks Chitose innocently.

"What!? No." Sage says surprisingly. Her eyes wide open.

"Sorry…" Chitose feels bad.

"Well, you can say he is like my son now. I raise him from a baby. So you can tell that he is my adopted son." Sage pats Kenta's head.

Chitose smiles. I cannot interpret her smile. It like she's sad, but also happy. But when Chitose smiles, she always looks beautiful.

Kenta… why did you leave Sage? Sage loves you. Why? Please give me an answer. I look at the stone floor, thinking whether or not that I am Kenta himself. If I'm Kenta, then why I leave Sage?

"I was wondering how you got this cell." Seiji asks.

"Ah, it's a long story. It's been 50 years. I've been traveled to Grave Keeper's Village because I heard that there's the last Devil Golem there. I got curious and went there via teleport upstairs. The Devil Golem is behind a huge door right in the middle of the village. But to enter it, you must have the elder village's permission. She holds the key and she believes that behind the door is something dangerous, so it will not be easy to get her permission. Well, it's not that dangerous because the golem itself is already death." Sage says while playing with Kenta's hair.

"D-Death!?" Seiji shocks.

"No, not really death. It still alive but the system is already death hundreds years ago. It needs a large amount of ether to revive it." Sage tries to calm Seiji down.

"Oh… OH! Oh, I get it now! You said that it needs a large amount of ether right? It is why the cell is trying to absorb ether from us." Seiji snaps his fingers.

"Ah… you're right…" Chitose seems impress, "But…what if it absorbs someone's ether?"

"That's… I don't know…" Seiji purses his lips tightly.

Sage falls silent. She knows exactly what will happen but she can't bear to say it. Chitose and Seiji too, fall silent.

"You know…" Sage breaks the silence, "Your friend, Kou, is it? You must be careful of him."

"What? Why? He's my best friend." Seiji looks at Sage with horrible look.

"I didn't mean to insult your friend. But I know that your friend isn't a good person." Sage implies.

"What do you mean?" Seiji's face becomes fierce. Chitose stands between Seiji and Sage.

"Listen, I really don't want to talk bad about your friend. "Sage continues, "I'll let you know something; your friend is also searching for this Golem too. He came to me last year, I let him did some research for the cell. But seemed that he couldn't figure it out like you guys just did. So he asked me, but I didn't tell him. He was angry and sent Yokohama Elite Corpsto attack my tower. Unfortunately for him, he lost."

Seiji remains silent, but his face is horrible. It seems he doesn't want to accept the truth.

"After he lost, he went back to Yokohama and told you about me and my place." Sage glares.

"How do you know?" Seiji surprises.

"I sent Kunoichi to spy on him." Sage points to a female ninja Golem who stands inside one of the room. The Golem bows to greet them. "I warn you guys, it's up to you to believe in me or not. It's already dark, you guys can sleep in here if you want."

"Yes, please." Chitose says.

They go upstairs. It remains me downstairs. I decided to follow Sage, I want to know more about this Kenta boy. Is this also possible to be my own past? So I already know Chitose since I was a child? How come Chitose doesn't remember me then?

I follow Sage and Kenta upstairs. I feel a slight headache and that annoying voice is coming again.

'N…o… lea….ve…em… At…ma… I'm…. too…weak… gui…de…u…'

And the voice disappears. What did he say? He's too weak? Good! There's nobody can bother me again.

I keep up my pace to follow them. I can see they're entering a room. I watch Kenta hops into his bed and Sage covers him with a blanket.

"Good night, Kenta." Sage kisses Kenta's forehead.

"Good night…" Kenta replies. Sage smiles and attempts to leave Kenta.

"Sage…" Kenta whispers.

Sage turns her head to Kenta.

"What?" Sage speaks softly.

"Do you know who my parents are?"

Sage opens her mouth, she seems still thinking how to answer the boy. "Well… It doesn't mean that your parents didn't love you…" She silences and sighs.

"I… don't know anything about them… but I think that… well… you was sick back then… very sick, maybe they thought that you almost died because of the high fever. So they put you in front of my tower. Perhaps they thought that I could save you."

Kenta stares at Sage. "You did."

"You know, I almost had a heart attack when I found you cried in front of my tower. But now I'm very happy to have you."

Kenta gives Sage a big smile, so does Sage.

"I love you, Sage." Kenta hugs Sage.

I love you too, Kenta."

How fool of me left Sage just like that, she must be very worried now. I need to go back to Sage now. But how? Maybe Chitose know how. She have been here once. I have to ask her after I wake up from this past.
